I had a dog as a child. I've had girlfriends with dogs, relatives with dogs, friends with dogs, co-workers with dogs
whose dogs I've gladly babysat. I've fostered dogs I've rescued, but I've never had MY OWN dog. I'm as masculine a male as you could find, but if someone surprised me with MY OWN puppy, I'd collapse in a sobbing heap.
If you can afford one, want one and will care for it, go to a shelter and look at available dogs. Find the one that finds you.

I LOVE dogs !!! I always have rescued adult dogs and hope I will have a puppy one day.

They are excited and surprised and happy. It's normal. And the puppies are fine within moments. I knocked a couple of pans out of my dish drainer this morning and scared my dog half to death.... How dare I. After jumping out of his skin, he immediately started wagging his tail and came over to sniff the pans I dropped. They are fine. You are more bothered than the puppy

It's exciting to get a puppy. They get startled and then almost immediately settle down and start enjoying the attention. And while some are dumped after Christmas, most are not. All of pets we gave to our kids for Christmas or birthdays were well loved and cared for their entire lives. So you trolls need to stop this nonsense.
Unless you have worked in a shelter and face countless unwanted dogs which is heartbreaking, consider the comments for proper dog ownership. If parents give dog as Christmas presents they are unfit, if parents allow kids to scream at a puppy is abuseive.

While some gifts are abandoned, most aren't. Yet, some will choose their own pet and dump them. You can't control it and you just assume they all are going to forget about them after. Please don’t give a dog to someone unless you know 100% they will want a dog and can afford to care for them. I love dogs and I see people pleading for help on the rescue boards to pay for surgery from an accident. It breaks my heart to think of an animal waiting for people to donate so they can get the care they need.
We got an unwanted xmas pup,my husband's friends bought it for his dad said dog was a German she too big for him ,we got him a few days later 12years of joy, love , and friendship I miss him so much
Many times when you see things like that, people could 100% provide care for that dog when they got them and situations changed. Or their needed surgery is so expensive and something no one would have anticipated and only the very wealthy can afford. People aren't giving pets to the mail carrier or the teller at the bank. They give them to people they know that they know have cared for animals previously and can now. Or they are giving them to their own children knowing they will have to teach them how to care for them and provide care themselves. I keep pointing out to people like you that I've seen people choose a pet for themselves that is too much for them either physically or financially and then have to give the pet up or it just suffers. So rather than trying to control people who have already given these pets... DO SOMETHING TO HELP. Trolling these videos to say the same things over and over again after the affect is just for you. You can't think this is helpful. No one is impressed by your drama

I do realize that circumstances change and I have donated to such causes because I can’t stand the thought of the dog suffering. I can only help so much as I have a dog, two cats, and a bird that I have adopted. I just ache at the thought of an animal suffering because the owner can’t pay for the vet bills. It’s hard right now. Just be certain the person that is being gifted a dog, really wants it.

I love these but the screeching & screaming might hurt the pups ears. I have to turn the volume down sometimes. Don't wanna be mean, just worry about a puppies sensitive ears. But I'm glad they are so thrilled & the pets will be very loved.
It's nice to see people so happy with getting a dog. I hope nobody ever gifts me with one. I can't take care of one. Can't walk it, pick up poop and can't afford vet bills. Plus, I'm 76 years old. What happens if I'm not around anymore? I hope anyone considering gifting a dog thinks of these things.

The elderly people getting a dog is extra sweet, you know the dog will be that person's entire world for the rest of both of their lives. And getting another dog is never to replace a former dog, it honors that original dog by you connecting again to a life that loves you unconditionally! ❤🥲
