And thank you for the kind comment! Glad it helped! This kind of feedback makes it worth making the build guide. This is a tricky build and i had a hard time trying to figure it out too! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Awesome, thank you Sir! Haha yeah these guides are a bit in-depth, I know! They are not really aimed at chaps like you of course, but I like to do them to help folk with less build experience than we have. But I appreciate you watching all the same, Fil! Oh yes, part 3 will involve those awesome mono-shocks and the cool linkages! Cheers! 😎👌👍
@@MarkBryanRC I actually really enjoy watching these. I love building kits, and I find it super satisfying watching a good build series like this one. Kinda gives a guy the opportunity to live and build vicariously through you. Very enjoyable to watch, Mark! 👊🏼😁
Thanks mate and great to know you enjoy these build vids. Yeah i know what you mean, I actually spend quite a lot of time watching builds, in fact I watched Rob's Hotshot build vids to get inspiration for mine! Wishing you a smashing weekend, dude! 😎👊👍
There a re a lot of bits and pieces that make up the front and rear suspensions on these but I do enjoy putting them together, Great step by step walk through of the process Mark!
Hi Addam, yeah loads more parts than usual for that suspension but it all seems to work nicely! Agreed, a fun buggy to build all the same! Thanks for the kind words fella, all the best from Mark! 😎🙏👍
Such a beautiful buggy to build Mark! The next vid is going to be fun its really taking shape now! its those mono shocks!!! and obviously the Shots aggressive overall looks l love but l also l really adore the Hotshots actual look and design of the shocks and love the little twist adjustable bit and the system this buggy uses especially the rear it is pure class! I always think its such a shame that folk hopup the gorgeous red mono shocks and remove all that super cool leavers set up to put the cva yellow shocks on and going to 4 shocks (like the Supershot) nothing against the Supershot suspension its awesome but by doing this it takes so much uniqueness from the Hotshot! This Legendary buggy needs to be as it is! Thanks for taking the time to do these vids Mark you know me and anything to do with the Hotshot ticks my box! Cheers buddy.
Well hello there Sir! Oh yes the next installment should be interesting! Gotta agree with you there mate, this is such a "funk" design only Tamiya could come up with! 😅 I haven't actually got any further with this build (other stuff going on for tomorrows video!) but I can't wait to get the mono shocks fitted... No way am I going to spoil the originality of this Hotshot mate, it's staying as Tamiya intended. Thank you many, many times for the awesome support and watching my vids! Let's hope the weather improves soon and we can get out there and run these beauties! 😁👌👍
@MarkBryanRC Yep l second that Mark l am like a grizzly bear hibernating right now l can't wait to get out there too! Iol and my pleasure watching your vids buddy they are always great stuff! Have a cracking Saturday night mate Cheers🍻
Very enjoyable episode of vintage RC assembly class with Mr Bryan! I love watching kits that I've never built going together in depth mate. Very over engineered in comparison to modern stuff, but at the same time far more enjoyable to build don't you think? This kit is sooo mid eighties Tamiya engineering...... those hub and arm assembly set ups are very similar to the front of the 959 in design, only substantially better. It's actually a very clever bit of design there I would say. This cars got a lot of character, and is very quirky in its own manner.... and I think that, combined with its distinctive low slung body design is what has kept it so popular still all these years down the line! Once again, Kudos for not laughing at all those extremely awkward lines like 'sliding in the shaft with a little grease', 'popping in the balls' etc etc! I would not be able to have kept things so professionall that's for sure! 😂 Would love to see a hot shot head to head race between you, Rob and Dom over at sandy bottom some time..... that would make for some entertaining viewing for sure! Have a great weekend dude. 😊 👍 👍 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Sir! Same here, if you're a Tamiya fan like us, you're gonna love watching any of 'em going together! Yeah, over engineered but in such a good way! Looks like the way a TT02 front end SHOULD be!!! These older kits certainly ooze character but as you say, that's why we love 'em! I have to edit out the parts where I chuckle at what I'm saying, it's harder than it looks (that's what she said! 😅) We gotta make that 4-way Hotshot battle happen! Cheers dude! 🤗👊👌👍
Great tip with using the "axles" to seat the bearings, I do that also on most kits but I never used a nut driver to push "ball studs" to ball ends (rod ends). However, we all come up with something to help cause sometimes, things ain't easy to put on .. More great tips from the Tamiya Master!!!!! ATB my friend!!!!
Hi there Bob! So it's not just me that does that axle trick then!!! Haha, yeah you gotta use your nut driver to push your balls in! 😅 It's good to share though mate, as I know you do as well. Take care my friend and speak soon! 😎👌👍
@@MarkBryanRC Yeah mate, I used the bearing on axle (stub axle) trick when I built the Gray (Grey) Clod & every other Clod I built plus a ton other kits, some kits I cant fit my fingers in to set the bearings... As for popping on ball ends onto ball studs, I use anything that will work/fit to help out... ATB to One & All on the other side of the Atlantic!!!!
Hi Mark great stuff here. I’ll be sure to refer back to your videos when I find some time to put mine together. Many thanks for sharing best wishes and take care
Hi Peter and thanks for the comment as always! I just watched your Holiday Buggy unboxing - great kit, enjoy and I hope the move goes smoothly! Cheers! 😎👌👍
Thanks Mark! Yes we are getting to the point where it looks like a proper buggy now! Oh, life got in the way last week so I missed an upload or two, back on track now mate! Cheers! 🍻🍺🤗👍
Lovely to watch this old buggy come together, Mark! That front suspension is really special, I hope it's not too fragile, but certainly an interesting design! It's a privilege to build these historic toys, and for me, to watch it on RUclips! Funny to sit and compare to a TT-02B, so much simpler, it took some years to get to that realisation for the Tamiya designers, he he... Also, those front upper arms, they looked like penguins in the video... I need to go check your channel, did I miss an upload from you last weekend? Anyway, have a good one there, my friend!
Hi there Mads, always great to read you my friend! I'm so glad Tamiya are re-releasing these classics, I agree with you, it's a privilege to build them! Yes the newer buggies are simpler but I don't think they have the same charm. It's the funky designs that makes them so lovable! Penguins... 😅👍 Life got in the way last week mate and I missed an upload or two... back on track now though! Have a smashing weekend too mate! 😎👊👍
Looking good next the chassis!! so many little parts in these steps you just did in todays rc they would eliminate a lot of the stuff they did back then.
Thanks Steve! Too right, this is a strange one to build with all those weird components but great fun all the same! Glad they rereleased it though!!! 😎👍
Hiya mate. Great work as ever on this. I've not built this one but looks really good and it's interesting to see Tamiya doing things a bit differently with the suspension and the pivots etc. compared to the modern kits. Hope you are having a great weekend mate. Im still catching up with post holiday admin. Cheers for now 😁👍👍
Hi there Pete. Oh yeah I reckon you'd love this build mate, it's like they used to make 'em in the olden days! Feels like a good bit of kit though. Lot's more metal parts than I expected and a good tight fit. Thanks for catching up with my vids, always appreciated my friend! Take care and speak soon, Cheers! 😎👌👍
MARK, as always, enjoyable! i may never have a Hotshot... but I'm enjoying your build. MY 60th birthday is in 9 days.... I asked for one..... you never know, right?

G'day mate! It should be me thanking you for watching, my good friend! Glad you liked it though! Nice one as usual, Mark! I know I've said it before, but these guides are super helpful. It's honestly mind boggling how many chassis and bodies there are, just in the Tamiya pool.. but that's also the benefit. So many options!
Thanks so much! Around 5:54mins…Step 12 and 13 I had got stuck. You mentioned that D6 has a bevel, that small detail just unblocked me! Thank you!
