Yup,,,the reason I didn’t get one for my 2020 Bullitt Mustang is this brand in not bolted to anything unlike the the one I installed on my Gen two Raptor. It seems too funky having the catch can simply dangly and rubbing on things.
It seems that these catch cans do collect oil but the real question is does it significantly help. My 2002 Mustang GT with 68,000 miles and without a catch can has never had an issue with blow by.
A catch can is needed if you have a direct injected engine and especially if it also has forced induction. I have to dump my catch can twice per oil change on my twin turbo Raptor. Haven’t installed one on my 2020 Bullitt yet because it is both direct and indirect injected. While it would still be helpful I don’t like this JLT snap in kit with the can just dangling vs bolted to the car like other kits are.
I have the JLT catch can. Also, I notice more and more people removing the engine cover. No harm to the engine? Makes me wonder why Ford created it/installed it. With it on, it is a little hard to get to my catch can, to empty it (I just unscrew it)...
It's actually to keep dust ,dirt , and road film off the top of the engine. When doing maintenance on the engine you will be working on a clean surface. It's also easier to trace a leak on a clean surface.
So I bought a intake for my Mustang but I'm debating on putting it on I'm waiting for my oil catch can or can I just put it on without the oil catch can and just put it on one it arrives I'm a little bit nervous that it will do harm to the engine without the catch can 😵💫
I bought one of these that fit's the Whipple , I just haven't installed it yet . I want to have it powder coated to match the blower but the powder coater is closed damn corona ..
Hey I have 2019 gt and my problem is I hear knocking or detonation when I push the throttle especially when the gear is 6 or 7 or 8 and the rpm low on 1.5 or 2 does catch can solve this issue plz
I really wanna do a catch can install vid on my truck one of these days, they definitely seem to be worth it!!! I like how yours clicked into place, what’s a pretty neat system
Canadian Cruisin I’ve actually never had one yet, I’ve just wanted one for a long time haha. I’ve only ever seen the ones that use hose clamps on the ends so you can’t just click it out like that. Thought that was pretty insane haha. Seems well engineered! Idk when but I gotta get one of those! You made me want one again!!! Haha 😂
This is not allowed in California. If you have it and smog check see it, there’s a chance the state will take you care away from you for a period of time. Ask me how I know. California does not want any dirty engine vapors escaping by emptying the canister every so often.
Wow, I cannot wait till you catch can fans out there find out they can do more harm then good. Change your oil at the proper intervals and you do not need one. Put one of these devices on your vehicle and you have just run the risk of blowing gaskets, along with making your engine run in a non congruent factory aspect. One more thing, not all catch cans are created equal, if you do put one on, do your homework and get a decent one, I guess.

Just ordered thru American Muscle. Thanks for sharing this video..
Thanks for watching. It's a must for these cars

Hard to tell if it would build up on the s550. I guess it would build up over time but I'm sure it also burns away when you open her up.

Great idea those catch cans. I have a UPR on my 2019 mustang.
I heard upr works really well

They put the engine cover on just to cover wires and stuff. Makes it look more organized under the hood. It doesn't really have a function at all
It does help damping engine noises and ticks to an extent.

Just took mine off ... for some reason they don’t fit on my slightly modified mustang ... I don’t know why ??? 😆
Your slightly modified mustang would blow this thing right off the car 😂
I have one on my 2014 mustang gt. I like it and think it was worth the money.
I agree. 100% worth it. And they look cool under there as well
Is you’re mustang stock? And do you daily it
@@Tender_vigilante It's stock with a CAI. It's more of a fun car for the nights and weekends. Mainly suspension modifications.

I thought the blowers usually come with their own version. Hopefully everything opens up again soon
@@CanadianCruisin yea JLT makes a whipple blower specific catch can witch i have , just need it coated .
You can remove your oil cap, unscrew the little chimney and connect the cap to the head for a cleaner look
I actually have a video in that lol. Cleans it up a bit under the hood
thats awesome! im getting one for my mustang v6 i heard the v6 does produce alot of oil out as well.
I havent seen it on a v6 but its probably worth it.
Just installed mine. Specific for v6 for some reason some American muscle. 3.0 v2, love it.

I would get someone to look at it. The catch can won't stop any knocking. That would be more internal
💀💀💀

Definitely worth it. And it's the easiest install I've had so far. How does it hook up to your truck? I'll keep my eyes open for the video :)

@@DeoneSoBord lol. I'd say get it. Most are pretty easy installs now.
Do you need to reset your battery? After installing
No
It’s obviously personal preference….I chose the Ford Performance oil separator because of its OEM look.
Helpful!
I'm glad it works.

I should invest also
Cheap and worth it if your going to push the car at all
