  • Part 1 of my annual fall fly-fishing trip to Montana with my father.
In part one we fish the Gallatin and Madison Rivers in the hunt for large fall running brown trout as well as the Rainbow trout that will follow them upstream. We fish mostly in Yellowstone National Park in this video and this trip was in early October.
This is one of my favorite places in the world and the focus of this trip was spending time with my dad and fishing vs. filming yet decided to capture what I could of this incredible place. The fishing was tough this year and stay tuned for part 2 to see what happens in the second half of our trip.

Many memories of fishing with my dad came to mind. Beautiful catches! Always seems like dads catch the bigger fish whenever we’re on the water with them 😂

Nice being able to go out and fish with your dad . It’s closing in on the end of November and we are still catching the big boys on the Madison. You may want to rethink you rod of choice when fishing for the big fish 6wt gives you a betting chance . Thanks for sharing

I believe it and this "Winter" is still very Fall like in Colorado as well. Meeting my dad I had limited gear but really wish I had a 6wt for that big fish as the 5wt I was using is a lighter 5 and wasn't the rod for a fish that size. It's a good lesson and thanks for watching

This was at Cabin Creek Campground which is great. In the summer you also have Beaver Creek Campground nearby above Quake Lake . I hope this helps
