Skiing Mt Elbert //Colorado's Highest Peak

- In todays adventure I summit and ski Colorado's highest peak, Mt Elbert (14,439′). This was my first time up Elbert and even with horrific skiing couldn't ask for a better day to stand atop my new home state. Mt. Elbert is also the second highest peak in the lower 48 behind Mt Whitney.
I started from the South Elbert 4WD parking lot and climb up was smooth and easy minus stronger than forecasted winds. The snow never warmed up so the skiing conditions were variable but the adventure and views were incredible and overall was an awesome day.

My new favorite CO backcountry skiing RUclipsr. High quality and informational vids that'll help me with my own adventures!
Thanks so much and will for sure keep them coming
Happy adventuring!
Thanx 4 great video, views & music! During a year in Aspen, Summer-hiked a 13k' peak near Independence Pass; could see all the 14ers!
Winter-skied Aspen & Snowmass. Now live @ eastern foot of Cascades in N.Central Wa.
Thanks for watching! I love that Independence pass area and the Cascades are beautiful. I have to get out that way again soon
Great work and nice videos! I skied Elbert a few months ago (SE ridge) and can't say the snow conditions were any better (and maybe worse!).
Thank you! It's good to know I wasn't the only one with poor skiing conditions and was a great day either way.
The box creek couloirs around this time of the year as they corn up would be ideal but I'll have to save that for the next time.
I have been living in Colorado for 20 years, but haven't visited Mt. Elbert. Your video is inspiring me to give it a try, although by hiking, this summer. Thanks.
That is awesome and happy to provide some inspiration. The views up top are special and best of luck with the summer hiking plans
Skied Elbert on May 4th, also had to bail on skiing Box Creek because of wind slab which was disappointing but I did enjoy the SE couloirs! Nice work 🤘🏻
Thank you and the SE couloirs and views are a great consolation prize!
