      Hi Bradley, I followed you tutorial created a transparent overlay - a rectangular border - for my iMovie project. However the overlay dissolves in a weird way. The border comes in perfectly, when I wanted to disappear in a few seconds, the rectangle didn’t disappear all at once. The left and right border dissolved first, then the top & bottom. What did I do wrong? I would appreciate your kind advise on this 🙏

    Bradley, is there a way to take that overlay and simply place it around an image? Or am I wasting my time trying to figure this out?

    • @BradleyTeaches
      @BradleyTeaches  3 года назад

      Do you mean as a frame around a photo or something? Give me a little more detail. The short answer is “yes”, any app that accepts png files can use the exported image and the transparency still works.

    • @Greg-fg1rd
      @Greg-fg1rd 3 года назад

      @@BradleyTeaches Yes. As a frame. Exported it to the desktop (ended up in its own folder). I then tried to place it on top of a photo in the photo app, then preview. Is the only way to start in KN and use the image as a background and work from there? Wanted to make a folder with a few of these frames (overlays).

    • @BradleyTeaches
      @BradleyTeaches  3 года назад +1

      @@Greg-fg1rd it’s probably best to bring the photo into keynote than being the resulting png into the apps you mentioned. I don’t think preview allows for layers.
      There is also a web based app, photopea that is probably an even better choice for bringing in the frame and photo, each can be on their own layers and manipulated as needed.

  • @daniel7___
    @daniel7___ Год назад +1

    I don’t have the same keynote I think.

    • @BradleyTeaches
      @BradleyTeaches  Год назад

      You may actually have a newer version of Keynote than what’s in the video, if not, updates are free- check out the App Store and search for “keynote” if it doesn’t show up. Most if not all of the functions, controls, etc should be found in similar areas of the app even from very old to the newest version.

  • @clementrodrigue
    @clementrodrigue 10 месяцев назад

    This is not a Transparent Video, but a Transparent image. 📺
    Don't play with words. As I want to create an animated shape (like PacMan) and use it in iMovie. So I need the background to be transparent.
    I didn't have success with exporting to video.
    I'm looking to create a small looping animation (500x500p), to stretch it to the necessary length - which differs for each use.
    🖥
    I also see that your version of Keynote is old, and different from 13.2 (7038.0.87).
    Besides, the interface is not white, but charcoal, like that of iMovue.
    All applications have the charcoal interface now, except for VLC which remains with its old look.
    😀
    If you have another explainer video that would be the right thing for me, then it is welcome.

      If you're using a phone to shoot your videos, your best bet is to add the overlays, bugs, etc in your editing app. Same rules apply, you just add them in post/editing app vs doing them 'live' or during your recording.
