This is quite possibly the best keynote instructional video EVER. Clear, fast, densely-packed with information that I needed... and even information that I didn't know I needed until I heard it here. Thank you so much.
I had no idea this was possible! Thanks a lot for showing all these options. Was already a big fan of Keynote, but this makes it even better. Really nice to cut out an extra step/tool (like Camtasia/Screenflow) from a workflow like this 😊
This was SUPER helpful! Prior to finding this little gem, I had just completed (and took notes) on your keynote with video tutorial from 2 years ago. WHOA, what a massive time saver! Your instruction is clear, very well-paced, and does not assume anything about the user/student. AND its quick! Thanks to you Michael, I just completed a major project that I'd been *dragging* my feet on for weeks-- in a matter of minutes!!
Thank you for your delivery of simple steps to build a recording for my online course using Keynote. I followed all steps and have correct system settings. After exporting and playing it back I can see my talking head but there is NO SOUND. I notice a few others in your audience have the same problem, any suggestions appreciated!
@@MacVideoMagic thanks for replying. I’m beta testing a number of platforms starting with KN due to amount of content to flip into online courses. So for now I’m using my MacBook built in audio and camera. It’s takes about 10mins to export at this stage. So still waiting on a result…
This was so, so good! I'm so glad I found an older video on keynote from 2017 that brought me here. And this literally removes the need for any extra software. Thank you so much, Michael!
Great video, Mike! When I record the presentation, my live video input object remains static as the first frame of the video - this happens on all slides! Am I doing something wrong?
Wow wow wow! Thank you so much for the tutorial. All this time I thought the ‘live’ functionality was strictly to be used for presenting over things like Zoom. Very clear, insightful and helpful. Kudos and thx!
This is superb Michael. I didn't know about the functionality and without this would probably not have fully embraced the potential of it. As you say, a game-changer, as is your approach to online video education. Brilliant.
Thanks for this amazing video tutorial. How would you do a video where all the slides are on the left hand and a live video on the right with an image background? I'm trying to figure this out but haven't found the right way to do it. Thanks.
Excellently explained!!! I just encountered a problem though: when I add my iPad as a second device for the live video, I have problems when doing the presentation because the video image is not staple it tends to starts blinking and turning green. Do you know why this happens?
Hello bro! Thanks for this great video! But I have a question: how can I link my Sony camera to the ipad pro ? I saw that it is possible to do in keynote Mac! Is it possible for the ipad pro? Thanks
Thanks very much. Well presented . We would think that in today and age that we would be streets ahead in video and sound recording on iMac, but apparently not. I find that Keynote really messes with RAM . I've got the iMac 24 inch M3. And to be honest I don't find the M3 iMac to be anything special. I've got the spinning Beachball many times.
You're my every best RUclipsR. Very informative video, Michael. Thank you very much. We really appreciate your effort. I personally support Michael to ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. Greetings from Egypt.
Hey ninja! Thanks for this and all your tutorials!!! I have a situation... Some how I change some settings of my save mode, then when I try to put the file in my google drive it placed as a file with several documents not as a single file. It looks more than a "package"...
Congratulations for you excellent video. I would like to know if It would be possible to record each slide of presentation with a different video, for example, using the Live video to record a different commentary in each slide of the same presentation. Thank you
Another incredible tutorial! VERY well done. If I had a use for this I would have this on “rewind”. I watched the video to watch and hear a professional. Some other video producers should not be allowed to have cameras.
Excellent content as always. Is there a way to re-record individual slides? Or do you have to re-record the whole presentation, then slide and dice in iMovie?
You can re-record individual slides. Just scroll back in the recording interface to the slide you want to re-record from. Note: you'll have to re-record everything from that point forward. Check out this video for more info: ruclips.net/video/fe280TjbAXw/видео.html
Thanks Michael for the video. Can you suggest a solution for this problem: While the video from my webcam (Creative Live! Cam V2) looks fine while presenting but looks very pixelated in the recording. Thanks
Same thing here, Michael. I used my iMac’s built-in camera, and while the resolution looks fine while recording the presentation, the playback quality of the Live Video is very pixelated. Thanks for the great tutorials, Michael!
I know this may not be helpful in terms of finding a solution, but I just tested this and it looks pretty sharp for me, so it could be some kind of settings issue? I am using a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro
That was very comprehensive and slowly-paced. It's annoying when people rush through videos. Also the examples for each slide were very useful, because it helps see the applications.
Hi Michael - thanks so much for this. Wish I'd found you yesterday when my brain was melting. Quick question - is there a limit to how long a recorded slide show can be (with a talking head in the corner, for instance)? Cheers, Caro
Probably limited to how much free drive space you have. Keynote files can get big, fast. If you need to record a super-long slide show I suggest looking for spots to break it up, then edit together the segments using QuickTime Player or iMovie.
@@MacVideoMagic Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. OK lovely - yes the whole preso may be 45 mins to an hour, so will just see how I go. Cheers! Have a fantastic weekend 🌻
hi and hello i have a ? on the start of your video the intro part what drawing software was it that you had opened? i also wanted to say what a great person you are at explaining on how to use mac software, because i am new to apple.
Question: Why does it only have sound only on the first slide? I tested it and it only has sound if I stay on one slide. I have 10. If I record all 10, then there is NO sound, Not even on the first slide.
Best tutorials on RUclips by a wide margin! Thanks!

Thank you Michael, your content is always super and valuable. I always learn something from your new video.❤
This replaces OBS for almost everything but streaming for me. This is amazing. I appreciate your information
Glad I could help!
Came here to learn about new keynote feature. But learned more on how to present the perfect content to the audience. Thank mike.
This is so awesome and the tutorial is very helpful. Gonna use this. Thank you!

Thank you so much. you have Very clearly explained all the steps, Now I have added my sony camera a source for live video. 👍👍👍
Mate, that was outstanding. Thanks. It will make presentations so much more professional. 👍🏻

This is a very ingenious use of the technology! Thanks! Tip: hold the option key while resizing objects.
Very clear and well planned demo. Thank you!
Another terrific video! Thank you.
AWESOME TIPS! Thanks so much for what you do! You have been a huge help to us! Blessings!
Thank you for an excellent tutorial. I was waiting and hoping for the iPad option.

EXCELLENT, thank you. It saves me a lot of work!!!
Yay! New video! 🙌
Thanks for this amazing video tutorial. How would you do a video where all the slides are on the left hand and a live video on the right with an image background? I'm trying to figure this out but haven't found the right way to do it. Thanks.
That's a tricky one to do with just Keynote. Would have to think on that.
Excellet!!!! Keep up the great work, Michael!
Excellently explained!!! I just encountered a problem though: when I add my iPad as a second device for the live video, I have problems when doing the presentation because the video image is not staple it tends to starts blinking and turning green. Do you know why this happens?
Very clear concise and well-paced training. Not an easy thing to do👍
Glad you think so!
Very helpful. Thanks a lot!
Fantastic demo. Thank you!
Amazing! Great job, mister.
This was fantastic - thank you! Also, LOVE your voice
This is a great improvement. Great video!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Who knew that you could do all this in Keynote!
Exactly!
Really good demo. Thanks!
Thanks a lot for this video 😍 so helpful
thank you, this is great! couldn't figure out how to do it
You're the best Micheal, thanks.
Thank you Michael. Your voice is very good that it fits well in a documentary video ;)
Great video Mike!

Not sure if you use eCamm Live, but do you think this plus a Stream deck would replace the need for eCamm or OBS streaming software?
Another incredible tutorial! VERY well done. If I had a use for this I would have this on “rewind”. I watched the video to watch and hear a professional. Some other video producers should not be allowed to have cameras.
Great tutorial. Thank you so much.
Oh my. This is wonderful. Thank you, Michael.
This video is pure gold
Was really having a hard time where to record my presentation but keynote was the only answer hahahay! Btw, can we do this on IPAD?
This was so helpful. Thank you!
Very thorough! Excellent tutorial. Thank you! 👍😃
Follow up question… is there a way to display presenter notes when recording? Thanks!

This was a great video and Im not even an Apple user!
Thank you for that great explanation of this interesting feature.
really helpful. thank you!
Thank you for the information, really helpful, checking your content 👍🌹
Thanks this was great!
Thanks Michael for the video. Can you suggest a solution for this problem: While the video from my webcam (Creative Live! Cam V2) looks fine while presenting but looks very pixelated in the recording. Thanks
Is the rest of the slide pixelated in the recording or just the webcam?
Same thing here, Michael. I used my iMac’s built-in camera, and while the resolution looks fine while recording the presentation, the playback quality of the Live Video is very pixelated. Thanks for the great tutorials, Michael!
The slides look perfectly fine. It’s only the Live Video that’s pixelated in the recording.

hi and hello i have a ? on the start of your video the intro part what drawing software was it that you had opened? i also wanted to say what a great person you are at explaining on how to use mac software, because i am new to apple.
Glad you're finding value. The software is called GoodNotes.
Can you record the mouse pointer in keynote please?
I love your videos bro! keep it up!
Anyone setting up an external mic 15:00, Video is great btw
Does live video work with magic move?
I would think so. Give it a shot!
Thank u 🙏
Can I do this on my ipad pro? Is the keynote the same?
Yes, this feature works in Keynote for the iPad, though there may be some slight differences from the Mac version.
excellent its worth
Its back!
What's back?
Grazie.
Thank you!
Amazing content
Thank you for the kind words!
How is it that Apple didn't tell me this!
Question: Why does it only have sound only on the first slide? I tested it and it only has sound if I stay on one slide. I have 10. If I record all 10, then there is NO sound, Not even on the first slide.
SAme! I recorded my Keynote pres with a video and sound narration and after exporting it, there is NO SOUND. All my systems settings are correct.
