Thanks! Spencer theses techniques are exactly what I need. I have a lot of stress in my life and I can feel the muscle tension in my back and especially my neck. When I go to my massage therapist this sunday I will tell her about theses scalene techniques that you show in your youtube videos. Thanks! for uploading this video.
One technique I like to use on the mid scalenes is to roll the head towards the side I'm working and sneak under the SCM to get to those TVP's. Either come in from the opposite side or have the client turn their head towards that side. You're doing great work, love seeing your videos. I always like to keep learning in massage therapy. It's good for the client and therapist
Great explanation of that area. Something that this video reminded me of, how do you deal with people who are ticklish? A lot of people are ticklish under their necks in the scalene area. I've also come across people ticklish on their sides, their knees, and their feet. I try to go as flat/broad as possible, but it doesn't always work. People tense up a LOT when they get tickled. Might be a good topic for a video someday.
I have this huge hard lump that hurts bad on the side of my neck. Shooting pains down my arm. 😐😣 I'm afraid to touch it because of like veins and stuff. 😶
Great vid explaining that triangle area👍🏻 is this a technique I could get from a 'spa' massage or do I need to find a certain type of massage therapist? I *really* need this
Denise Herud in my experience, 'spa' massages don't really do this unless you ask, but that's still not safe.. gotta find reputable therapists in your area which may work in spas , chiropractor office, medical massage type places because most therapists have less than 2 years experience (most quit the profession after that time) and don't know how to effectively work this delicate area.. personally took me 3 years to feel comfy even touching this area with depth. So find a reputable, experienced therapist .. amta.com website may have folks you can look for, individual websites, reviews n all, gotta do research so it's money well spent
Also, this area is difficult to master to make comfortable and effective, it takes quite a bit of experience. So yea, do some research for someone reputable in the area
Your subscriber count is climbing. I’m not surprised, massage therapy is awesome. And you’re relatable.
