The foreshadowing from last video was absolutely beautiful, like i can't believe you had played these games so far ahead that you already had the whole "karma" thing planned out during the editing process of the first game's video, like did you seriously beat the first game solo and then move on to the sequel before even uploading the first one? Reading this comment makes me really happy, thank you! Yes, I did these challenge runs back to back (DDS1 Surf solo & DDS2 Gale solo). So while working on the DDS1 video, I was already thinking about some of the connections I wanted to make between the videos covering this duology.

Honestly the fact that you managed to beat a superboss solo that hasn't been shown on YT before is absolutely wild in and of itself. Like, maybe someone has done it before, but yea, considering apparently no one's uploaded it in any form, I'd say that number is probably very few. I mean hell, if it were me, I'd pull out my phone and record it that way, shitty as it is, just to be able to show it somehow.
Also somehow I thought you'd already done the Demifiend fight, I was misremembering and mixing it up with someone else's run I think lol. Still, definitely something to look forward to! Now if only I could play these games myself... Sounds like a headache =_=

I would say except for SMT4A's DLC... but it's a Demi-Fiend that's built wrong.
Say what you want about Cynthia. But trainer Red and Demi-fiend really encapsulate that whole "Fighting the previous protagonist at their peak" feeling.

NGL, I think using Savestates for Omoikane is entirely justified. I have very little tolerance for mechanics that are pure RNG. But then again, thats just me.
I always find it funny that Beelzebub can use Hamon, and Gabriel uses Mamudo. You would think those skills was mixed up.
Beelzebub is a fallen angel so demons using hamon makes sense, and the angels/god can banish people to hell so it goes both ways, which is super cool.

I've enjoyed several of your challenge runs, especially the Nocturne and DDS1 Solo runs. This video specifically reminded me why I loved DDS so much when I played it years ago. The last fight again Seth really underscored Gale's development, in a way I doubt even the developers and writers ever intended.
My hat is off to you for that alone.

I’m probably going to finish this in the morning but man. I have been so excited for this video (and definitely not obsessively checking my sub feed on a daily basis for it). It’s always such a treat when you upload, given that the humor and info regarding what you did during the challenge is always on point.
By far the hardest challenge you’ve done.
Not only was everything so much harder with just a solo run, but many of the bosses really wanted to make things seemingly painful at many points (Seth).
I’m proud of what was done in this video, including being the first to EVER solo Seth Deus.
What a fantastic video, it's been a fun journey to see peak SMT be done solo and even Seth that is a textbook definition of a feat.

Another thing that's funny to think about with Soloing Satan is the fact that once he's nearly dead he straight up has an insta-kill move that can't miss and always targets somebody no matter how many people are left alive so yeah I think even if there was a way to deal with God's Breath solo, dealing with Retribution is also impossible. They really went all out making this boss uncheeseable.

2:16:34 there are a few games i can think of where you're only supposed to have one of a given item, but don't check if you have more than one.
What i mean is; if you got another impel stone, the npc who let you purchase the first one would likely let you purchase a third one, given that the game is only checking if you have one stone, and is not checking if you have greater than zero stones.
Which means we still have the problem of finding an exploit which can change an item id into another, or arbitrary code execution.
Loved the video, getting to see the canon gale build as well at the end was a joy.
As for obtaining more Impel Stones...it might be possible, IN THEORY, if a prompt transfer glitch is ever discovered for DDS2.
What it would do in practice is to allow you to open the dialogue with the Pyro Jack merchant in a save file where you are still able to purchase the Impel Stone, then find a way to load a different savefile while that prompt is still active (cutscene storage? A way to retain control and trigger a game over? I don't even know if those are possible), loading the savefile where you want to hoard Impel Stones, and then confirming the prompt so that the new Impel Stone is added to the inventory of that save. Then repeat until you have as many Impel Stones as it takes to kill Satan in one round.
I honestly love seeing such a passionate content creator make videos about games that I love, DDS holds such a special place in my heart and for such a small channel to make such a time consuming video (at least I think it was time consuming) with such great editing feels kinda unreal, like bruh you had me checking your subscribe count MULTIPLE TIMES throughout the duration of this video LMAO, also you got me feeling bad for you because sometimes you retried fights just because the recording went to shit LOL. Keep up the good work man, this stuff is great and you'll no doubt become a pretty big channel if you keep putting in this kinda effort.
