- Here in this video we will discuss the 9 Different Dreadnought patterns of the Imperium, not the Castraferrum variants which are the mainstay of the dreadnought numbers. Here we will discuss the different dreadnought pattern or classes, for variants of the Castraferrum, we will certainly make another video, remember that before you complain like a witless worm. Before we do the list though, we will be talking a little bit on what the dreadnoughts are, their origins, history and how they work, just to get the new and upcoming 40k enthusiasts on board.

The Lucifer Pattern Dreadnought was so ancient that it was built using LEGOs.
It’s truly ancient at a whopping 39 thousand years old.

Easy to build, repair, protective, and hurts when stepped on
But easily broken when dropped
It specializes in taking out titan by walking under where they are going to step
It's said an emperor class titan stepped on one once...

I remember the first time I saw a dreadnought as a kid, I thought it was so cool. Then someone told me they're piloted by dying men in metal caskets, that's when I fell in love
Remember, Dreadnought is nothing more than a high tech life support stretcher for the wounded. An in the golden ages of mankind wounds like those found on drednought pilots could easily be healed. It is almost as ironic as chimera being a tractor originally, or Landraiders actually being "LIGHT" personal carriers, same as Baneblades being light tanks.
Also, Contemptors and Leviaphans were so good against mechanicus that they thought that sooner or later, Emperor would use them on mass when fighting Mars as the last war. In addition, these and Dorito dreadnought are one of the only machines to which Mechanicum do not have full knowledge of. They were and are made only on Terra.
So what were heavy tanks in the golden age lol😂😂😂
@@sherkhead9638 That's the iteresting mystery, we don't know. But Emperium is running on the minimum technology and the most basic things which they think are marvels of tech.

The Contemptor and Telemon patterns are extremely fast for their size and weight, both match the sprinting speed of the average firstborn marine.
Both are built not as a life support system, but instead work as a complete replacement/upgrade of the old body.
In my opinion, the contemptor is probably the best dreadnaught the leviathan may be very strong and have better shielding and weapons but it’s sacrifices speed A contemptor is a nice balance. It has shielding also great weaponry along with mobility.
@@FAZMANFAZER the contemptor dreadnoughts can be so advanced because of Their Anamatic field generator, which produces both power and energy shielding. The largest downside to this is that its archeo-tech and explodes with the force of a small nuclear bomb when it gets to damaged
@@ajollyduck did you not read what I said it’s not just the shield generator. You know that makes the contemptor strong. It has a good mobility and great strength.
@@ajollyduck yes, I am aware if the shield generator gets too damaged, it will explode but I don’t think the pilot of a contemptor would be that stupid they would probably just use their great mobility to get into cover

I always thought it would be cool to cut the legs off a casstrafarrum dreadnought and put tank treads in their place. Imagine the terror of a dreadnought being able to zip around the battlefield at speed laying down righteous fury against the emperor’s enemies.

Damn, I feel like the Death Company dreadnought should have had a mention. Though understandable as they are only "used" (only able to be produced) by the Blood Angles as the Death Company is only spacific to the Blood angles.
