    I grew up at just the right time to enjoy Street Fighter II in the arcades. Man, those were the days. It doesn't feel like it was 30 years ago... I used to be a game reviewer back in my college years. I was up for anything, but I always loved fighting games the most. I walked away from it - and the gaming industry as a whole - but the majority of games I _do_ still play are fighting games. I've logged in far more hours of 3rd Strike than I'll ever admit to. Good times.

    When SF4 came out I was 19. I had played SF since I was 4 and always enjoyed the game. I didn’t follow the series very close, and had no idea that it had, had such a long hiatus. I picked up SF4 the day it came out and enjoyed playing it online, which was my first time getting to play other competent players, as all my friends just didn’t seem to get any kind of real skill at it so I would just have totally one sided win, one after another which of course meant no one wanted to play me for more than 1-2 rounds. Anyways love SF!

    Street Fighter 5 is the No Mans Sky of fighting games: it had a terrible launch with few characters and little single player content but is now one of the best fighting games from this console generation and it has been for quite a while. I feel like the people who still believe Street Fighter 5 is bad played it one week at launch, dropped it and still believe the game is as bad now as it was then.
    This is all ofc Capcoms fault for rushing the release of the game, to quote Miyamoto: "A delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game is forever bad". Had they just delayed the game half a year or so it could've been released with some extra characters, a story mode and it would've been viewed much more favorably as a game today.

      Unless you're a Street Fighter expert, it wouldn't even matter. The game was bad simply for the fact that it didn't improve on what SFII and SF Alpha had incorporate, instead it throws most of those elements out the window and created its own fight system that while come in handy if truly master at its fullest would be a drag to get use to. Also another reason was because of the lack of returning characters, not having many returning fan favorite fighters in the game means returning player had to get use to the newer ones and remastered all their movesets, some like the new change and some just couldn't get into it. I am one of those that couldn't get into it cause it just doesn't play to my preference but I do like the animations they had for it.

      @@VOAN I can understand where you're coming from but the game was ahead of his time when is currently was out it wasn't getting any praise now it's been over decades the game gets so much praise it was a game that was made before its time but I completely understand where you're coming from at the moment of time of playing the game when it first came out I can understand where you feel that it wasn't the same but looking back at it now you can definitely say that it was a game before its time

      @@TigerintheMist I'm with this. The alpha series was in general too much for its time. Great fighting game and more people would have liked them if it had more returning characters so they could be lazy and not learn a new style but it is what it is.

      It was considered "bad" because it was a bit more technical. 3rd strike's learning curve is incredibly steep. Plus, considering they dropped most of the original cast, people were probably disappointed to see their favorite characters not make the cut. Ryu and Ken themselves barely made it into the first iteration of sf3

      @@dragons_hook so the game itself was made way before his time I can understand that players at that time what was not ready ready for the technical side of it and not seeing your favorite characters in the game does suck I love GOUKEN and I wish they was in Street Fighter 5 I don't even play it because he's not in it I've tried numerous of times to play it it sucks not seeing your favorite character

    All those games are lame. They all stayed the same. The only one that changed for the better is Mortal kombat. That's why they have a 2021 movie. KOF, street fighter, tekken, all need to change some how. Maybe then they will get a decent movie

    • @madbart214yomother7
      @madbart214yomother7 3 года назад +1

      Have you played more than 1 mortal Kombat or you just play the new one because mortal Kombat itself was stagnant when it switched over to 3d combat. You forget deadly alliance, deception, and Armageddon? All those games are terrible in fighting sense so they switched back with mk9 and then they came back to only flounder the story with all this timeline mess. SF learned after doing 1 3d game and stopped and went on a roll for years until sf3 (arguably) and 4 had hiccups too. Tekken has always been relevant till recently. Kof never changed but has always been popular (somehow)You like 5 years old or something cause this all happened within about 10-15 years. Even the SF movie was dated for a 90s movie and people liked it. Mortal Kombat you can say the same for and even that movie is better than the new one. Bruh you need to learn your history before you go talking about what happened 15 mins ago. Just saying.
