I was in a choir for several years. This was our 'Party Piece' so to speak. In 2007 we were given the chance to sing at mass in St Peters in Rome. We sang this at Communion. We weren't professional singers, just a hobby choir and wondered how we could be heard in such a vast space. But we were standing beneath Michelangelo's dome and every note we sent out bounced back at us magnified a thousand times by the dome. It was an extraordinary experience, which I will rank as one of the best in my life. Thank you Michelangelo and Rachmaninoff.

I have sung the All Night Vigil 3 times over the past 20 years, probably my favorite choral work. Of course, the 6th hymn is probably the most famous. It is a thrill to sing this a capella. Apparently, during the time Rachmaninoff's choral works were banned, they created a children's song to the tune. When it was first performed again years later, the audience immediately recognized the piece, having never been attributed to the composer.

I’ll be having the pleasure of preforming this at my Christmas concert this year and at a mission. I don’t say it to my choir but this piece is a work of genuine art and I marvel at its composition. This is my last year in high school and the beginning of my music career when I cross that stage and begin a barratone then finding my voice at a tenor makes a tear of joy fall as I listen to this piece.

Returning so often to this rendition, I have several observations: (1) the audience is silently enraptured, (2) Risto is, himself, warmly captivated, (3) and Yuri is worshiping...without looking at his score!

Once had a friend who loved the Virgin Mary so much. It is In fact how we met and how we became friends. He died only about a year after us being friends. Somehow I know that Maria is taking care of him. When I tell you how much she means to me, I really mean it. Rejoice, O Virgin mother of God.

The object of this beauty of course, is to praise the Lord Jesus Christ by venerating His All-Pure Mother who responded to the "Hail full of Grace" of the Angel with Her loving "Be it done to me according to Thy Will" in perfect Trust of her God and Lord! This resulted in the Incarnation of God the Word into Her Womb, which this hymn exults in: because by this act, God made it possible for you and me to partake in this Divine Energy from His Humanity and become Children of LIGHT! REJOICE! I pray daily for her Trusting Love of My Creator and Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

I plan on also dropping to an F1 if I get to perform this piece (we're rehearsing it now in choir) but it'll be with subharmonics so not really an F1 but yeah you get the point
