Man I really with all the components to the song were there. Its so hard to find any written music for country songs or video lessons for that matter! I want to make the transition from Rock to country but am having trouble finding material.
Thanks Pomah. The bridge pu is Seymour Duncan vintage stack, and I use D'addario 9.5 gauge strings. I can bend then a lot easier than 10's, and the tone is fatter than 9's. I like them a lot.
Thank you for the nice compliment! You can find many more video lessons on my website Country Guitar Chops. I have instructional available for purchase, but I haven't made one up the rides on this song. If I get some feedback, I might make a for all the rides on this and a few other popular Alan Jackson songs. Thanks again, Ken Carlson
So are all steel solos based around scales then because of the turning and steel threatening ?? Great lessons though as a Englishman wanting to learn country licks etc fling awson learning of a yank / Confederate lol
Hi Trini, thanks for the compliment! The affects I use for playing this style of music is: Number one, a compressor. That's the main component I use to get that chicken pickin' sound. The other effects are a slight delay (single repeat), and a touch of reverb. Hope this helps!
Trini Cardenas I have a half a dozen amps, and I think I used an Egnater Renegade for this video, or I may have used a Matchless. Sorry I just can't remember which one I used because I did this video quite a while ago!
Fantastic sound and playing. I'm a beginner, and really want to be able to play like this one day.
For the rhythm I think he uses the minor 3rd to resolve when the chord is G. But I could be wrong. Sounds great though and love your tone!
Nice pick'n and lesson!
Wow! Such an awesome lesson! Thank you!
