I’ve watched numerous reaction videos to the this and you’re the first comment thar referenced the book. Great job. It’s all most line for line but the subtle differences make the book better.
"Fight Club Chuck" use to be a regular customer at Starky's in Portland. My old roommate was his favorite bartender and fry cook. 😂 He told me he liked the film adaptation, but it's nothing like he had imagined in his book. Tyler was supposed to be a mullet wearing weirdo. And "Jack" was the main character writing reflective little verses about himself as a therapy exercise.... "I am Jack's will to destroy something beautiful". Portland sucks, but Chuck is a pretty cool dude.
"Meat Loaf died in Nashville, Tennessee, on the evening of January 20, 2022, at the age of 74. No official cause of death was released. He was reportedly ill with COVID-19 earlier in January and reporting by TMZ suggested that he died from COVID-19 complications." - wikipedia
“First rule of Fight Club, you don’t talk about Fight Club.” Another Edward Norton movie y’all would love I recommend is “The Painted Veil” (2006) A phenomenal story, anyway much love❤ y’all, stay safe. 😊
Honestly, your's is one of the better reactions to Fight Club on RUclips. Tons of other reactors lie about not having seen it before. They always give themselves away by deducing Tyler isn't real when it's still wasaay too early in the story for this to even be possible since there's very little evidence up to that point for anyone to even be capable of realizing the narrator & Tyler Durden are the same person. Those reactors always have to try impressing their subs by demonstrating their superior intellect.
When you read that meatloaf was in this movie even though I’ve seen it 100 times Bob is his own character so much in my head I was like “meatloaf is this fucking movie?!” And then laughed when I realized 2 seconds later holy shit, of course he is, his name is Robert Paulson 😂
True story? When I first ripped this movie off of Limewire (back when that was still a thing) I didn't have the video codec needed to actually watch it. So I listened to like an audio book instead. I did that... 20 times at least a teenager. And weirdly? It's still really engaging just with the audio. Says a lot about the narration/dialogue.
Great reaction. I totally love this movie and what it says about consumerism in society. There are many "isms" mentioned and shown in this movie. For instance, at the beginning, Marla Singer was what's known as a Fatalist. A fatalist believes that they will die when they are meant to die which is why she always just walked out into traffic without looking. As the Narrator says, Marla believed she could die at any moment, the tragedy, in her mind, was that she didn't. There needs to be a certain level of ignorance, I think personally, to really be a true fatalist because if you come to a red light and you keep going because you believe in fatalism, what exactly does that prove? The flip side to that ideology is maybe you were meant to stop at that red light but you'll never know because you're d*ad lol 🤣🤣🤣
The flashes of "Subliminal Tylars" appear when Jack is creating Tylar. The doctor who tells him he does not know what real pain is, the group leader who said "I look around this room and I see...", Marla coming out of a church. When he thought he "slept", he woke up as Tylar. Tylar is hidden in the Hotel TV commercial; as he already works there.
Great reaction. Also I love how you know how to still add your opinion and other commentary without spoiling or creating anticipation (which is also spoiling imo). I'm finding out that's very uncommon for people to be able to do, sadly.
Jim Uhls wrote the film adaptation , the script of the film. But the creator, the author of the novel, is Chuck Palahniuk. He's a very interesting writer. Almost all of his fiction intentionally deals with transgressive elements. Besides "Fight Club" , my personal favorites are "Rant" and "Lullaby". And "Stranger Than Fiction" which is a non-fiction collection.
I read the book first, then I watched the movie. Different endings. I actually preferred the book. The anti-consumerism theme was called "culture jamming" in the nineties. Hey, was Marla real or another personality? ✌️❤️
You should definitely check out the FX series Legion, it has the writer and creator of the Fargo series which is also amazing. Both have some of the best writing, directing, editing, acting from anything weather it’s TV or movie
The fat guy, MEATLOAF (RIP) was a singer known for his powerful, wide-ranging voice and theatrical live shows in late 70's & 80's. He was actually one of the best selling music artists in history. Yes it's a brilliant film with an amazing cast of characters and actors by the awesome Director David Fincher. Judging by your review & comments, I Highly Recommend!***** another stylistically similar yet completely different film with a great twist also starring a uniquely insane Brad Pitt. > Dystopian Sci-Fi film by Terry Gilliam < "12 MONKEYS"
This is one of my favorite movies. Blew my mind the first time I watched it. It's not related to this movie, really, but you guys should check out Arrival with Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.
Great film, great reaction! Since you’re a fan of Edward Norton, as I’m sure we all are, you should be the first channel to do 25th Hour! Edward is the lead, Spike Lee is the director and it’s an incredible film. For some reason no one else has reacted to this gem. Be the first!
1:04 and 20:30 I swear... I'm not even one of these odd "mystical" dudes... But the eay you guys said that together, AND with the same inflection and timing is real "soulmates" type stuff. Also... 27:24 If that's not the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know waht is... *_NO DISRESPECT!_* Peace, to you and yours.
You should watch Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal & Red Dragon in that order if you have not seen them, also Edward Norton is in Red Dragon he is a great actor imo.

"whats that flickering in the movie"?? and when its explained you dont connect the dots? rewind and check the flickering slowmo :P God this movie is good :D
This movie fascinates me for its place in cultural history... all that 'useless male' anger and dissatisfaction it describes got redirected after 9-11 into Iraq, and then after Iraq into the anti-BLM fighting gangs like Proud Boys, etc.
just FYI, the word "Anarchy" simply means "No Ruler" (just like Monarchy means one ruler), it means no one rules over you, you are free. Systems of controlled have convinced people that the word means chaos, but it doesnt.
Can barely hear the movie. Audio mix needs to have the movie just as loud as your voices, anything less makes it a really hard watch. Great movie. I enjoyed watching it with you kids. I will sub but in return you gotta watch "The Game". With Michael Douglas. I think you will like it. I will be looking forward to your reaction.
Love the splice in the beginning 😂
I always loved the yin/yang table he buys at the beginning. Perfectly foreshadows him and Tyler in so many ways.
The bus driver is a member of Project Mayhem/Fight Club, that's why his face is all beat up.
If you like this movie, you should read the book. It's not too long and goes into more detail about stuff than the movie does.
I’ve watched numerous reaction videos to the this and you’re the first comment thar referenced the book. Great job.

@@signalnine2601 The ending in the film is powerful, but the book ending gives me chills.
Meat Loaf was a popular singer in the 70s and made a comeback in the 90s with the single I'll do anything for love. He pass away to covid in 2020 RIP.
When someone died WITH covid, it was mostly recorded as dying OF covid. Not saying it was the case with Meat Loaf, though.

Oh!!! I’m watching the entire reaction. I love this movie!!!
Tyler standing in water playing with the fuse box is one of the clues.
Meatloaf was an artist. Check out the album "Bat out of hell", with the performance of Paradise by the dashboard lights.🎉
I'm the 100th like! Keep up the great videos guys!
thank you !!

They should fix the captioning. In the ice cave Marla does not say "slide". She says "it's a lie".

He has IDD Identity Disassociation Disorder. Tyler and The Narrator are totally separate personalities.

I love this movie and the tracks by The Dust Brothers!!
There is a theory that Marla was a different personality. It makes since when you think about it
