    That is a sick bike. Really like that color with all mountain clear camo guard.

    Nice video. I just got a Farley 5 in Feb 2022. So far I really like it. I rode it a few times on snow and I'm planning on riding it during the regular biking season also. Actually I just rode 12ish miles on it. I'll be honest it was pretty brutal. My fitness is not yet to the point where I can hang with my buddies as well as I would on my normal bike (Salsa spearfish). But I'm choosing to put in the miles and get to the point where I can handle this beast as well as I can my FS bike. I might try swapping the Gnarwal tires for something a bit less chunky though for summer riding.

      Nice! Yeah it takes some getting used to, but I find the fatbike way more fun! Just keep pedaling as often as you can and you'll get there!
      A lot of people tend to swap to the Bontrager BarbraGhazis (27.5x4.0). It's a thinner, lighter tire that I've heard good things about. I have a set on order myself! Can't wait to try them out for this summer!

    A smile machine indeed! I got my 7 just after you did (now 120 miles on the odometer) and I agree with everything you said.
    I absolutely love it and I have had no problems at all except.....my full suspension bike is getting lonely.
    My intent was winter riding only (its awesome on the snow) but I can't seem to stop riding this pit bull of a bike. Around town it's a head turner, in the mud and beach sand it's unstoppable and in the snow it's my winter happy place! Can't wait for winter........

    Not in the high roller league but I love my 220$ Fatbike that my mom got me. Installed a solar powered headlight too. The front suspension is trash and there're imperfections here and there. But God don't I love it. It came with almost every component in a non-working state out of the box(from shifters to derailleurs to brakes). I had to tune them myself.

      As long as you have fun on your bike, it doesn't matter what it costs! Expensive or cheap is never as important as fun factor! Ride on brother!! 🤙

    I'm on the cusp of buying either a Trek Marlin or the Farley 5.. what is your gut feeling, does the Farley blow away any Marlin? I put a deposit on a Marlin 6, but now kinda think an 8 is a better deal with it's tubeless rims and tires. But I did see in person a Farley but the sizes they had were no where near my size so I couldn't test ride any of them. I think I'd know if I took a Farley for a test ride, nearest dealer that has one is 160 miles away:) I kinda flipped for the Marlins because of the vast difference in price, but wasn't blown away on the test ride.

    • @theaveragefatbiker3493
      @theaveragefatbiker3493  Год назад

      If it were me, I'd go for the Farley. But it also all depends on what kind of riding you're going to be doing. I had a Marlin 5 as my first bike. It was good, but the Farley totally blows it out of the water. It's more versatile, and you can ride it year round in just about any condition. I find the Marlin to be lacking and I quickly found the limits of its capabilities. I am yet to find the limits of the Farley!

    Any thoughts on the 80mm manitou? I’m debating pre ordering a Farley 7 and selling my bigfoot 2 vs buying a manitou mastodon fork. But i’d get the 120mm, so I wonder which is the best option. Similar spec bikes otherwise, except for the 26 wheels.

    • @theaveragefatbiker3493
      @theaveragefatbiker3493  3 года назад +1

      I have both; a pro (120mm)on my Skookum, and a comp (80mm) on the Trek. Both are great. There is more adjustability with the pro, but between the two, I ride the Trek more. I'd personally go with the Farley 7. But the if you decide to just get the Fork, you'd still be happy!👍

      @@gbone13 I never hit anything big enough to bottom out on with it yet. If you plan on hitting bugger stuff, however, I'd go with the pro.
