    Dacia is changing the market. This car will take all the sales from the likes of Tucson, Sportage, Kodiaq and so on. For fraction of the price. What you mentioned is so true. Dacia is making practical and affordable cars in a time where all the greedy companies are adding stuff to the cars that don't provide any additional value. Great job Dacia!

    Can see them doing very well with this, they’ve put a lot of thought into design and the practicality will appeal to many people. The price of some cars that offer this carrying capacity and versatility is crazy, you’d be very reluctant to put mucky bikes, kids and dogs in the back. Buy the right version of this and you’ve got a new car that meets the needs of a lot of people at a very reasonable price. Very fair and balanced review as always 👍

    I think a lot of us are guilty of "brand snobbery" and no doubt the big names are so aware that they know we will pay big prices. Then along comes a vehicle like this and because it hasn't one of the big german badges we probably would turn our heads away. This car looks fantastic and i would have no hesitation having it parked in my driveway and who cares what the neighbours think.

  • @alantheskinhead
    @alantheskinhead День назад +8

    I already have a Jogger Extreme so this will be next car in two years time. The only thing I would hope they improve on is the carpets. It's more like fluffy lino and it wears very quickly. But other than that nothing wrong with it. My neighbour has a Kia and he paid £6k more for his. Also the seven seats are useful if you have a big family, but I took mine out and use mine as a van. Also be prepared for "Brand Snobs" who will just turn their noses up at it, until they see what you get for money. What I like in my hybrid is nearly 70mpg and nearly 65-75% in EV mode around London. In fact Dacia short changed themselves on the MPG. One caveat is that I hope they have solved the clutch and gearbox issues that plagued the manual Joggers.
    There are good and bad points in all cars but my Jogger is more good than bad. Remember that the chances are it will badged as a Renault in some countries so you will never know the difference!
    One thing I hope they don't do is price themselves out of the "budget" market. The reason I chose Dacia was that I bought my car on my debit card on a whim!

    I don't care what the price is, this is so much better than a Range Rover or anything over £100k. Its clever, has a manual box, cloth seats and a pano roof. It ticks all my boxes, makes a £150k Lotus SUV look stupid (not hard). I just don't know how any other manufacturer can compete. Just on badge snobbery, that's all. Hope you can get steel wheels like the Duster? Unfortunately it probably has the speed limit warnings and lane change assist that makes any new car unbuyable, unless there is a single button to turn it all off, Oh there is WOW!!!!!! Its game over for every other car, Dacia has listened to REAL people. I would have this over any other new car, anything, its the spiritual successor to my 2005 Subaru Forester I have been waiting for, its what people want. 10/10 Dacia. 10/10 Ped.

    The Dacia Dusters historic low 3 star NCAP rating is not just down to a seat belt warning sensor. There are more fundamental issues with the cars. We know that, its shown on the NCAP test results that anyone can download. I spent around 40 years in the Motor Industry, working for manufacturers, including Renault. They build lots of 5 star NCAP cars.

    • @dk8435
      @dk8435 День назад +2

      NCAP has become a bit of a joke though as some of the drivers aids they insist on are down right dangerous, they don’t seem to care how well/poorly the features are implemented, I’ve had 5 star NCAP cars trying to force me off the road, hammering emergency brakes on for no apparent reason all whilst forcing them selves back on every time the vehicle starts.

I shouldn't be forcing with the car to stay in the proper lane. Meanwhile on my old car it just rumbles the seat if I go over the line while not adjusting the trajectory. And that's enough for me where it's not making something more dangerous but still alerting me of possibility.

    Great value and sensibly designed car. You wonder how Dacia can sell it for the price. Either other manufacturers have become greedy or Dacia have been very clever utilising the Renault parts bin. In fact I think Renault are now very smart with their platform and component sharing strategy. I was amazed to hear that the forthcoming Alpine A290 shares its rear suspension with the 4x4 Duster. Hopefully Renault have learnt from VW to maintain some separation between their budget and mainstream brands so Dacia will not be moved up market to become as Skoda has to the mainstream Volkswagen brand. I found it interesting on my travels through Asia, South America and Africa earlier this year that Dacia’s all carry the Renault badges in these developing markets.

      The price is central to their design philosophy. In fact the very first thing they decide is how much the car will sell for and then work backwards from there 👍

      @@PetrolPed I guess all manufacturers claim that they follow the same process but I suspect that the designers and marketeers drag them off course especially with their desire to upsell with options. There is an honestly with Dacia and actually you don’t feel short changed or exploited if the only options are trim packs and a choice of colour. As someone who has always been seduced by tempting options I know that I have often been my own worse enemy. Rationally it is only justifiable if you keep the car a long time so it is easier to sell on when the time comes. It does however annoy me when “essential” equipment is an option - and even worse if it is wrapped up in an expensive pack.

    Hello Peter. Yes…a very practical and good value car that does everything that everybody needs and at a good price. If Primark made cars, this would be their volume seller. I’m not sure about the name but it is easily memorable and no worse than the myriad of names conjured up by VW Group…I see a new seven seater VW called the “ Tayron” is mentioned just this morning. This Dacia is going to do very well…I hope the build quality holds up and not being an EV might cause some questions but it is alright….like ham, egg and chips!😬😃😃😃😃Richard

    Nice looking car with plenty of space. Love the panroof - had one one on a 5008 years ago.
    Looking forward to the pricing and warranty info along with your on and off-road reviews.
    With a 11 year old Yeti and 7 year old Tiguan, could this be the replacement we'll need soon?

    Not too sure about the decorative chevrons but the Bigster ticks so many boxes that it doesn't matter, I hope they do it in dark green like the original concept one, and if it comes in under £20,000 as the head of Renault group said it would then it is a guaranteed winner.

    As some will have already commented naff name, however I don't dislike it, it's a bit tonka toy but it's by far not the worst looking compact suv and it's good to see it's not another generic bev

    Looks a nice practical SUV. It does make you wonder if all the toys in modern car are worth it. The only toy in my car that really find useful is the reverse camera. I do like the fact that it has physical buttons for climate control although I surmise it would be the fan speed most people would change mostly

    It’s a shame they’ve done the same as with the Duster and not offered a full hybrid AWD or I’d be seriously considering this car.

    Good looking car, albeit does look like a lot of other vehicles, so doesn’t stand out.
    The bronze accents are a nice touch, although think the wing mirror covers should only be a stripe, not the whole cover, it’s just a bit too much.
    All that said, it is very good value and an affordable option for the average family 👍🏻

    I like practicality over style and brand, I have 3 kids and youngest needs car seat ideally in the middle seat, internal minimum width needs to be 133cm (which ruled out all Skodas) and ideally no transmission tunnel protruding into the rear floor area.
    I prefer to have a good towing capacity although 1 ton mentioned in other comment is better than most. Wondering what the real world pulling capacity will be like, always used diesel before. Interesting...

    Is the boot opening and boot size as big as the Dacia Logan?The addition of the split level boot floor is great.Being fussy-it could do with the rear seat squabs being able to be lifted so that the rear deck goes completely flat like older golf's and polo's used to.Roof bars need to have T track access so that a neater fitment of accessories can be attained. Eg cycle/kayak racks and roof boxes'See Thule.
    Having said that,it looks a great car fir the money and Tiguan owners ,and the like,might be swayed.
