  • This Left Hand Arpeggio Pattern will give you a rock-solid foundation on the Piano for anything you wish to express in the Right Hand. We use an amazing chord progression and learn inversions for smooth voice leading. The progression is taken from the Amélie Piano Theme - Comptine d'un autre été.
    And then there is a bonus! We will look at 5 methods to improvise a beautiful melody in the Right Hand and develop your independence and musical ear. A long lesson but worth the watch to help you with your Piano playing!

    I've followed along and learned from many different online teachers over the years including as a start The Piano Guy (Scott Houston), moving to a cheating way of sheet music reading by Shawn Cheek, PianoNote videos on progressions, many many random videos, and finally coming to realize the value of your videos more and more over the years. For someone who really just wants to play what's in their head your video series hit all the problem spots. Thank you so much for these! Along those lines, this video adds great improvisational ideas on a song long past learned. With fewer and fewer hours to get to practice songs, which I eventually forget, I get much more value in improvisation using learned techniques.

    I've been learning left hand patterns for a while. They require quite a bit of practice. I've found that starting with just a major (or minor) scale over the LH pattern helps build cement the pattern in the RH. Too much going on in the RH until the LH is totally embedded in the brain will cause the LH to get lost. It takes more practice than I had originally thought it would but the results are worth it. Thanks for another excellent and beautiful lesson. You are fantastic teacher!!

    This is called Alberti bass, and has been used in Classical music since the 1700's. It is simply a method of adding more movement to your music by arppegiating the chords in the left hand creating 2 moving parts on a piano, or with orchestral instruments in an orchestra piece between the melody on top, and the bass below it, simply creating 3 moving parts....Peace!

    Very nice ideas. I can already play Amelie, the original film theme. but that was not easy to learn with the original sheet music.
    But of course you're right that you can do a lot more with this l - h - m - h method. In this way to improvise melodic pieces over the singing to play a melody which one has in mind is a very good possibility to play simple but very beautiful harmonies.
    Thank you very much for your detailed explanation of how this can be put into practice, it is very helpful for daily practice in the brain and on the piano.

    The chord transition/arpegiation between E G B & D is terrific in left hand. Wonderful concept👍👍 and playing melody in one of these scales will be really nice in right hand. But the iffy part being how to land the arpegiation keys exactly while concentrating on melody🤔. I think this whole part to sync may take atleast 6 months of hard work!!! I am keenly watching your videos. And the lockdown helps to spend more time😀 But can we beat the myth of 6 months⁉️

    • @Dimitri1901
      @Dimitri1901 3 года назад +1

      It is not a big problem to connect the right and left hands when changing chords. only a single note changes in the chord.
      It took me about 1 month to learn the original Amelie with the original score, so that I can play it fluently several times in a row. With variation and improvisation, it is up to you how heavy your melody is that you want to play.
      You should generally practice the chord changes so that you don't have to think about them later, so that the chords are in hand without thinking which chord you are currently playing. Something like that can also be practiced separately in order to master this. So you can change the chords with both hands and practice with different rhythms. There are enough videos here in the channel for that:

    And one thing that I have practically learnt in my 40 year life is as follows :
    If you let yourself honestly appreciate / admire and get inspired by someones greatness or any good attribute with sincerity and positivity, then For Sure, those attributes and greatness will automatically come inside you WITHOUT any intentional effort at your end...
    Just appreciate good attributes of others, get inspired by them, their life's struggle .... Admire them honestly, have positive feelings for them... Pray God to bless them more, and you WILL see that all thosr things will be part of your personality and character.
    I somehow know that you already know and follow this amazing law of sincere appreciation.
