Driving through Ocean View Township And No View Of The Ocean!! | Cape Town Travel

Ocean View Township is on the outskirts of Noordhoek and Fishhoek. It was established in 1968 when people were forcibly removed from their homes in Simons Town, Fishhoek and Glencairn and moved to the wind blown landscape that was first named Slangkop(Snakehead translated from Afrikaans to English) There is a mixture of single dwelling houses and blocks of flats that was built by the government of that time. The name Ocean View came about through the people as they enjoyed the ocean views where they first lived, but now there's no ocean to view as it's rather a distance away from the suburb.
