Worked perfectly. Went to the local fabric store and got 4” wide elastic. Sewed them up. I also folded them in half and sewed them 1/8” along the fold to help them stay even on the cymbals. I also used paper binder clips when I was putting the mutes on the cymbals since as your video proved correctly you can’t really do it easily with just one pair of hands.
+johnsondrummer yes it is. Doing this has really helped me grow as a drummer due to the fact I can play when I like for as long as I like without annoying anyone.
Hi Duane, Thanks for the video, I am using the Magnatrack DS1 trigger system, but i am using a L80 type low volume cymbals with my Pearl Mimic Pro module but I am unable to get rid of the constant ring. DO you think I need to mute all my cymbals including the hi hats ? What would you suggest ? Also I have the Magnatrack Cymbolic magnet triggers which can be connected to the cymbal stands and trigger as well. I am still struggling. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks' Sam..
If I were to put triggers on these(let’s just assume they work well) would this method be quite enough for life country/rock gigs? Or will the audience be able to hear the clicking noise ? Thanks you!
I think the audience would hear them if they were close enough or a smaller room. But if your output volume is loud it might be fine. If I was gigging with this kit I would use those low volume once as at least they make a cymbal sound too.
Hey Duane, excellent video! I'm going to try making these this weekend and am excited to see how they work. You still have good results with these mutes after a year of use? 2/5/19
"they are so did" love the accent
Thanks for the video :)

That is cool..Enjoyed
Hi Duane, I'm Lim from Arizona, good idea and much cheaper compare to cymbomute, could you advise me the wide of elastic in inch, thanks.
Hi, there's no real recommendation for size. The shop only had this size. About 1.5 inches.
