    I also suspected Ian, but with a different motive in mind. We don't know much about Ian, but as both Adam's brother and an enlisted officer of the Federation, we have to assume he was a pretty good guy, so I don't think he'd hold too much of a grudge over the decision to save the lives of innocents over his own.
    See, I actually kind of agreed with Samus's perspective at first; that Adam's ability to make such a difficult decision so quickly was actually kind of admirable, if not somewhat heartless. But then I thought: what if there was more to Ian's death that kept Adam so calm?
    It's a long shot - possibly longer than just assuming Ian was the kind of guy to hold a grudge - but what if Ian's death was staged? What if Adam's stone-facedness in response to his brother's distress was actually because the screen wasn't showing Ian die? What if he didn't want Samus even attempting to save Ian, because there was actually no one to save?
    We know the Federation's been up to some shady shit over the years, and Adam's for the most part been a straight-shooter, either oblivious to it, or in direct opposition of it. But what if the Federation approached younger, more impressionable Ian with a proposition for leverage on Adam? What if Ian got wrapped up in some secret Federation project that warranted faking his death, and they used Adam to help pull it off, probably leaving him oblivious to just how shady it got? This may explain how Sylux got his hands on experimental Federation tech, AND can use it so well; because he was GIVEN it and TRAINED to use it!
    With the key word being *experimental* Federation tech, it's possible they could've put Ian through hell trying to get his body to convert to energy in order to take his Lockjaw form, or anything else Sylux can do (he may yet prove to have more tricks up his sleeve, come Prime 4). Eventually, something would've gone wrong, and Ian (now Sylux) escaped, forever transformed, twisted, and possessing a burning hatred for the Federation for what they did to him.
    Not sure where hating Samus would come in, but that's only assuming he hates Samus on a more personal level than just her association with the Federation. We know he's following Samus by the end of Prime 3, but the only time he's ever gone out of his way to fight Samus was in Hunters, when they were both pursuing the same macguffins of the week. Maybe we just got it wrong, and Sylux's feelings towards Samus are a bit more complicated than we thought?

      Actually, come to think of it, considering Ian only appeared in Other M - and only via brief mention, at that - it could actually turn out to be possible that Adam is the more likely candidate for Sylux's identity. From a story writing standpoint, he IS the most significant human character in the series other than Samus, so if they wanted to go for a big twist, it would actually make a lot more sense to go for Samus's supposedly dead and ultra-trustworthy former commander/father-figure who players would be about 90% more likely to recognize than his brother who was only really mentioned in that one game most folks may have not played because they heard it was terrible.
      The motive may actually fit, too. Like I said, Adam is a freaking paragon, but he still holds a high rank in a very corrupt and powerful organization. Maybe he eventually decided enough was enough, so he began using the Sylux alter-ego to attack them while maintaining his position to keep their corrupt influence to a minimum. He fought Samus during Hunters to avoid making the Federation think there was any familiarity between them, which would have naturally made them suspect Adam as the closest living thing Samus has to family. Then, come Other M, and the Federation starts getting on to him, so they send him to a zoological hellhole along with an assassin specifically meant to cover up their dirty secrets.
      Assuming Prime 4 would take place after Other M (or even Fusion), finding out Adam survived his venture into Area Zero and has been using his supposed death as a way to drop off the grid and operate as Sylux full-time would actually be a great way to redefine the character from his botched execution in Other M. Finding out one of Samus's deadliest and most mysterious enemies was actually an old friend all this time would also be pretty cool...
      ... Aaaassuming we don't see him become the villain along the course of the story... Or die...
      ... Or, y'know, assuming any of this is even true and not just wild, shot-in-the-dark delusions of someone thinking way too hard about video games at one in the morning.... I should probably sleep.... ^_^;

    The most mysterious part of this whole puzzle is Sylux's ability to morph into the Lockjaw alt form. Morphing is an ability invented by the Chozo, and restricted only to those they deem worthy to use it, such as the Luminoth. In my view of the Metroid canon, this leads me to believe some of the Chozo's secrets scattered across the galaxy from their lost civilization, have been discovered and unlocked. This could be an explanation as to why all the Hunters could use a basic, weaker form of Samus's weaponry. Space pirates have obviously been attempting this for a long time, so they can't be the only alien race doing so.

    • @jennytalia6724

      I actually just came up with a theory now that I've beaten Corruption again. Sylux is the Federation spy who the Space Pirates bribed for information during Corruption. This explains how Sylux was tracking Samus on Elysia.This could strengthen your argument about Ian Malkovich. While I consider most of Other M not to be canon, Fusion's inclusion of Adam as an AI further strengthens the argument that Ian would be the one who knows the Federation's secrets. While I don't want to include Adam's death in Other M as canon, even without considering Other M, Adam is clearly dead before Fusion. This could further fuel Ian's hatred for Samus.

      Actually, the weapons the hunters are using (the Affinity Weapons) were developed by the Alimbic. Also, the hunters posses stronger variants of their respective weapons than Samus does. As for the alt-forms, they were all developed (Kanden, Trace and Weavel) or are in nature (Noxus and Spire) of the hunters' respective species (excluding Sylux). It's quite interesting though how the Lockjaw mirrors the Morph Ball, with both having the ability to lay bombs.

  • @MungkaeX

    The explosion that killed Ian was a trap! It was a trap set by Adam to take out his corrupt brother who already had betrayed the Federation. That's why Adam wouldn't let Samus save Ian, because he intended Ian to die there rather than have his betrayal come to light and possibly even cast Adam in a negative light as well.
    Do I have any proof? Nope, but it certainly fits the narrative presented here. Perhaps Ian had been grooming Samus for her own eventual rebellion from the Federation, intending for her to help him ... sell tech to the Space Pirates?
    She was certainly naive enough that she would have done anything he asked of her. I got the impression from Other M that Samus actually had romantic feelings toward Ian, and if she was forced to choose between a direct order from Adam and Ian, she would actually have sided with Ian. Adam knew this, so he ensured that Ian's com-link was unable to communicate with Samus thus avoiding the potential power struggle. Ian on the other hand didn't know his com had been tampered with; when he asked for Samus to help him escape he took her refusal to help him as proof Samus chose Adam over him.

  • @TheBtam

    I liked your theory a lot, it opens the posibility for a great Metroid game. Here's my idea: after Metroid Fusion, Samus confronts the galactic federation. She infiltrates a facility in which she finds Sylux by chance so they start fighting. Galactic federation troopers interrupt their fight and among the chaos Sylux flees, so you go after him. You follow him to an alien planet that you have to explore in classic metroid fasion in order to find him and when you finally do, then there's the big reveal of his identity and motives. Then maybe by the end of the game, Sylux helps Samus take down the not-so-good galactic federation. The only problem I could see with this idea is that there's a lot of time between the Prime games and Fusion, in which there is no mention of Sylux at all, but who knows.

  • @novustalks7525

    He’s most likely Solomon Aran. The name Sylux means mocking the light and Samus is known as the light . So he’s her brother

    • @dragtogo2735
      @dragtogo2735 4 года назад +3

      Sylux = System(Sy) +
      The SI derived unit of illuminance(light), measuring luminous flux per unit area(Lux)
      Samus Aran's Power Suit might be made of light structure by the Chozo. Her name however I can't no proof enough since "Aran refers to Aran Island" and "Samus refers to another discovery could supplant the original finding", which totally fits for what she does which leaves to believe that the discovery is the power suits connected purpose.
      This explains why Solomon Aran was supposed to be the user of the Power Suit but something happened that split both of them apart and doesn't even recognize Samus Aran at all with blind hatred from the Federation.
      Chozo probably chose him though time it really didn't happen and was given to Samus instead of him which I am theorizing what might of broke relationship with that and the combine split apart. Also he could've been raised by another evil association group which of course would also hate the Federation.
      So being the brother is a 85% percent chance it's him. 15% is a clone of anyone which I hope not.

      Jeremy Graffox I really hope it’s him. I feel like he was raised by someone else or else was kept hidden by the federation. The only reference to Samus about “light “ is the chozo lore calling her “the light”

    what about Samus' younger brother Solomon Aran? His body was never found and was assumed dead after the massacre at the colony. It would be cool and twisted if Samus was raised and groomed to be a warrior for the chozo, while Solomon was raised and groomed to be a warrior for the space pirates?
    Sylux's presence was established before the character of Ian malchovich was conceptualized and I think sylux's is intended to be another character entirely.

    • @jwil4286
      @jwil4286 5 лет назад +2

      K yeah, but they could have had dialogue in Hunters if they wanted. There IS a cutscene to introduce him, and he just attacks unprovoked. That would make no sense whatsoever to attack your own sibling randomly.

    • @IamCanadian3333
      @IamCanadian3333 5 лет назад +2

      JWil42, should of, would of, could of...as I said, at the time, they probably didn't intend for Sylux to become a major character.
      It's still not a contradiction otherwise, other fictions do this (introduce a villain who just attacks the protagonist right away, only for them to find out said-villain is someone close).
      There is also such thing called "retcons." IE. changes in existing storyline. Example, Samus said the metroid was now twice responsible for saving her life (1. Saving her against Mother Brain and giving her the hyper beam to destroy Mother Brain. 2. Saving her from X-infestation.), which now in reality, it's three times now thanks to the introduction of Samus Returns (3. Attacking Ridley before he can finish Samus off). Just like the Zebesian-X on BSL, was originally a marauding group that attacked at the worst time, where now, they are the subjects created on the Bottle Ship (along with the Ridley-X and Nightmare).

  • @gatekeepingwarlock9604

    I've theorized that Sylux, his stolen suit and the Delano 7 were all Federation "Black Ops" projects in an attempt to replicate Samus' arsenal. The two main things that sparked this theory for me were the funny little entry logs of the Pirates' failed attempt to morphball in Metroid Prime, and the design of Sylux' alt form. Ever notice how both Samus and Sylux can drop a total of 3 bombs, the only two hunters who can do so? Or that even though we technically see all the hunters' ships for a half second in a cutscene, the Delano 7 is the only other ship we interact with in the game?
    These lead me to think that if the Space Pirates were wanting to R&D Chozo tech, why wouldn't the Federation? They've always relied on the genuine article, sure, but only as a contracted Bounty Hunter. This means (in the GFed's eyes) despite her record of loyalty to the Federation, she still has the power to decline her services to them, or worse, betray them. After all, she's 'just an outsider.' So some Federation director was probably like: "We don't necessarily need Samus either, we just need her stuff! Let's megabloks the hell out of her ship & armor, and then we don't have to hire Samus anymore! And as a bonus, if she ever decides to turn traitor after finding one morally bankrupt project too many, we have just the weapon to take her out!" So they got a "volunteer" to test and experiment on with all this Anti-Samus tech, probably even opening them up along the way, something went horribly wrong, and the Federation property escaped and is loose in the galaxy. And who/what ever is in that suit is probably thinking "Screw these guys for doing this to me, AND the one they tried to turn me into!"
    (It could even be a Darth Vader situation, in that Sylux actually needs the suit to survive in!)

    I have a theory. In Metroid Prime 4 Samus and Sylux MAY Team up to fight a threat that could possibly only be defeated by a Metroid, a powerful one at that.
    Yeah sure at first Samus might not understand Sylux's motives but as the story progresses Samus would learn more and more about the situation and thus team up with Sylux to defeat this new threat. Also going against the Federation as well.
    But that's just a little theory of mine.

    Since this will be A big part of Metroid Prime 4 I think that there might be a deeper lore to this.
    Hear me out I think this is Solomon Aran. Soloman was on the planet K-2L When the human Settlement was attacked along with Samus, Rodney and Virginia Aran, the interesting thing is that Rodney and Virginia both died. How ever in the canon story it states " When Samus was just Six years old, pirates attacked and destroyed the human settlement. Captain Thea Aran and Chief Engineer Avram Aran where both killed in the raid. Solomon Aran, Samus's four year old brother, was missing and presumed dead" --- metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Solomon_Aran
    This theory can also explain how Sylux is " A skilled marksman and bounty hunter experienced in espionage skills such as scouting and tracking " you can read this in the Super smash brothers Trophies. He got this skills of Scouting and tracking by living on this planet for so long alone trying to keep himself alive.
    This is From the Manga I know but I think this could be a cool story plot for Sylux. He hates the federation because they couldn't protect his planet when he was little, and he hates Samus because she left him on the planet.
    Now i want to leave you with this. The Definition of the word LUX means " a unit of illumination equal to the direct illuminations on a surface that is everywhere one meter from a uniform point source of one candle intensity or equal to one lumen per square meter " Basically light
    And the word Sy means " forming adjective and nouns with diminutive and often mocking or pejorative, force " What we get is (Sy)(Lux) Mocking the light. This also would fit that Samus is the Prophecy of Light in the Chozo Lore --- metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Chozo_Lore
    The last thing I was to state is the the Screw attack symbol is Samus's iconic Symbol, And Sylux's Symbol look almost identical to the Screw attach symbol except it is almost a mirror of that symbol.
    So do you have any thoughts?

    I think that also why he would be angry (and also how he got the suit and such) that the federation found him and decided to experiment on him. (Let’s face it, the federation has been extremely shady before and after) so when he escaped he took the suit and ship.

    Wouldn't Ian's brother Adam fit the bill better? Adam could be mad at the federation for his brother's death for the same reasons and be more likely alive to do such acts. Also, since no one knows he's sylux (and already part of the federation's army) it would take less 'stealthy actions' to get all the experimental equipment and to the metroid. Additionally, it is likely that Ian and Adam worked in similar fields of expertise (mechanical development/ maintenance) though, as you stated, not as strong at that field. If sylux was Ian and he contacted people to get the information for the equipment, that would mean that either they would have likely found the people who gave away the information to him and at least have some idea of his background (such as being a part of the federation) or the people he contacted shared in his hate which would mean Ian isn't the only candidate and there's a chance that we haven't even met sylux's true identity. How ever, if we assume we have met sylux's identity, Adam fits alot better than Ian. In addition, look at the metroid timeline at the gap between Ian's death and sylux's first appearance. There is a huge gap between those 2 events. I think it would be easier to see that gap as Adam starting to plan his revenge on the federation and Samus as well as filling in some of the skills necessary to enact his plans in the federation ranks. All in all, I feel Adam is just as likely (if not more likely) to be sylux as Ian does. PS I have not played Metroid: Other M (AKA Metroid: Voldemort edition) (Yes, I had to make the reference) to know if there is other information to say otherwise. If there is please reply so I may be wiser on the subject.

    So the Federation tried to reverse ingeneer the power armor of Samus. And some last surviving individual of an unknown alien species similar to the human species (probably destroyed by the federation) steals it. (in addition to an experimental weapon and spaceship).
    And he is definetely not human. Just listen to his voice, he sounds like a beast. If he is anything, than probably some kind of metahuman.

    There is a theory that Sylux is Samus's brother that she thought was dead along with everyone else on her home planet. It could make sense since Sylux does hate samus but he has kind of made himself a shadow of Samus from his emblem and stuff. Plus he could have a hatred of Samus cause can think she left her own brother to die, who was then made into a bioweapon experiment to make a soldier like Samus with her chozo DNA. He would grow to hate her and EDF purely since his suffering is cause of her actions in a way. This idea gives the idea that both the armor and ship were probably made by EDF to make him more like Samus, till he eventually breaks out and steals what they built for him, he's probably have EDF training at that point to so using and hacking the tech be easy to him.

    I'm pretty sure most of these mysteries behind Sylux might be answered on Prime 4, since they already confirmed Sylux will make an appearance there and have more background story behind him. If it's a main entry to the Prime series and/or a continuation of the Prime Trilogy, there has to be at least another type of phazon crisis involved, since a Metroid Prime is solely a metroid that has gone severe mutations from phazon.

    • @Charle_Z
      @Charle_Z 6 лет назад +2

      EpsilonChurchRVB Wait, where’d you read that Sylux was gonna have an appearance in Prime 4??? And I think Prime 4 MAY BE a working title, who knows, but all we know is that the whole Phazon crisis has been dealt with after the events of Prime 3

    • @EpsilonChurchRVB
      @EpsilonChurchRVB 6 лет назад +2

      Well the guy leading the development team of Prime 4 has already gone through the ideas of having Sylux and Samus crossing paths once more, not only in Prime Hunters, but in the next main Prime series as well. He confirmed the mysterious ship, at the end of Prime 3, to be Sylux so there's a major chance he'll be in Prime 4. Sorry I may have worded it wrong as to it was "confirmed" that he'll make it in Prime 4, but I just wanted to point out that the chances of him being in Prime 4 are extremely high. And Prime 4 may be a working title, but as they said, it is the next main numbered entry in the series. The phazon crisis may have ended, but who knows? Phaaze may had left a potentially harmless phazon nebula behind, a possibility that could, in time, create another planet, or even a star, full of pure phazon once more.

    A theory I believe and not very heard of is that Sylux can in fact be Samus long lost brother. Turns out in the manga it is cannon samus had a younger brother however his body was not found in the destruction of samus planet. Not only that but samus and Sylux have a lot in common. Both have names that start with S. There upgrades or weapons had some type of Z symbol on them. It's not to far off to think Sylux may be samus brother. And he may hate samus for working for federation since they been as shady as space pirates.

  • @robertlupa8273
    @robertlupa8273 2 года назад +1

    The biggest problem with this theory is the gap between the realease dates of Prime Hunters and Other M. Combine that with the fact that Richard Vorodi, the story designer of Hunters, said during an interview (and I quote): "We have a great backstory written up for Sylux. There’s a lot of threaded storytelling in there, that made using the character in other games a good fit. I would love to tell you what’s going on under that suit…"
    Now, maybe it's just me, but that sounds like they had it figured out from the start and just didn't tell us in the game to make Sylux feel "mysterious." It's not a case of "mysterious for mysteriousness sake with no actual explaination". I doubt they had contact with Other M's dev team, assuming Other M was even in delepoment at that time. I doubt they'd change Sylux's backstory (which Richard certainly loves, as the above quote would tell you) just because Other M gave us a different potential candidate (and not even a perfect one).
    Still, theorycrafting is fun, so I won't criticise you too much for it. (especially since the video is _6 years old_ by now)

    Adam's decision wasnt some arbitrary decision. It was obviously worst case scenario protocol. Though very unfortunate, it was the best decision.
    Ian had people whom he cared about on that ship and likely, and especially as a soldier, would understand the risk and had to be in agreement with this protocol before going through with the mission. Also, I may be mixed up, but arent the events in the Prime Trilogy predated to other M? So Sylux already existed before Ian was sacrificed.

  • @petervanheerden2133
    @petervanheerden2133 Год назад +1

    Personally I think Ian makes 100% sense. He's got every reason to hate the galactic federation. He could hate Samus since he thought that she also betrayed him. Personally I think he found out about a suit specifically designed to defeat Samus that the GF was developing upon telling Adam that they must warn Samus Adam saw his loyalty to the Fed as far more important and got rid of Ian who survived and struck a deal with the Space pirates to get the armour for them. Upon acquiring the armour he kills the pirates who helped him get it telling them the suit only works for humans. The suit itself is the galactic federation reverse engineering Chozo technology and doing it successfully hence Ian can transform into his Lockjaw form. Personally I think this would work best after Dread. The reason for him stealing the Metroid is perhaps he wants to gain metroid powers or something and during the events of Samus returns - Dread he went around stealing the powers of the other hunters to prepare for a fatal blow to the Fed.

  • @Ricardo-qk6jh

    I think Solomon Aran yes Samus Aran's younger brother is Sylux because he holds a grudge and hate for Samus leaving behind awhile and their home world was being destroyed and she got saved by the Chozo race and he was later rescue by the Galactic Federation and train to fight for them until he got tried of it and decided to make a Bounty Hunter armor for himself and become a Bounty Hunter and go find his sister Samus Aran and Challenge her to see who the better Bounty Hunter is between them both and who knows what will happen next but my personal theory is that I think Samus will be the one that sacrifices her life in order to save her brother life to make up for leaving him behind and he get to be the Bounty Hunter Hero to save universe but It be awesome if they both would work together as it was meant to be 100%!

  • @LiquidSmashBros
    @LiquidSmashBros 8 лет назад +4

    There are two flaws(one of which is a significant one) that paint the theory into a corner.
    One, as of present, between every Prime and non-Prime game the characters not named Samus have never been crossed over, i.e Admiral Dane never appears in Fusion/OM and Adam never shows up in Prime 1-3 and Federation Force, when realistically they weren't dead at those points in time and no current hand waves exist to justify their absence.
    Two, this being the lesser one, Ian being Sylux would require an OM retcon, because unless Sylux were to do something noble and turn good in this hypothetical game(doubtful), there is no way Adam and Samus would view him favorably as they do when reminiscing about his "death". Then again, OM as is remains a clusterfuck when trying to connect it to the rest of the series so a retcon wouldn't surprise me.
    But that's it, the theory as is has solid backing. Let's just hope the answer comes sooner rather than later.

    • @MetroidTrainer
      @MetroidTrainer  8 лет назад +1

      Could you clarify the first point. I don't fully understand. However the second point I fully understand. I actually wanted to talk about that flaw in the video, but a friend suggest to cut it to make the video simpler. If Ian didn't die and became Sylux, it would make the scene where Samus felt bad for Ian inconsistent. My idea was that mentally Ian died and became Sylux. Similar to Star Wars (assuming you know about Star Wars) when Anakin didn't die, but Obi-wan considered him dead due to the extreme mental change in becoming Darth Varder, Samus and Adam would consider Ian dead and Sylux being a different person.
      I appreciate the comment and I also hope we get official answers soon.

    • @LiquidSmashBros
      @LiquidSmashBros 8 лет назад +2

      I'll try and clarify the first point as best I can. For simplicity's sake, I'll be using two separate terms: Prime era(encompassing Prime 1-3, Hunters, and FF) and original era(encompassing Metroid 1, 2, Super, Fusion and Other M).
      So here's the deal; both eras have characters that appear once, maybe several times in the games that make up said era, and depending on the case, may or may not be alive at certain points. Let's go back to my original two examples.
      Adam, as far as the timeline is concerned, was very much alive during the span of both eras, dying in Other M. The point being that despite this, Adam never physically appeared or was mentioned in the Prime era proper, not even in Federation Force. This is what I mean by not crossing over, in that named side characters introduced in one era don't appear in the other.
      To make this clear, let's look at Admiral Dane again. When the story ends, he's the only named side character to survive the war, unlike Rundas, Ghor and Gandrayda(and Ridley technically does, but the timeline placement of Corruption makes it so that his survival is a foregone conclusion). So likewise, as far as the current lore is concerned, Admiral Dane is alive throughout the events of the original era from Metroid 2 onwards, but never appeared in any of the original era games between Metroid 2 and Other M.
      I'm hoping you get my point; besides Samus, Ridley, and the Metroids themselves, the original and Prime eras have no interconnected characters between the two. This is the main obstacle I see to Ian Malkovich being Sylux, in that Ian was a character introduced in the original era, whereas Sylux is a character from the Prime era. To make that connection would be an aversion to the trend I just explained. Now, granted, I'm not saying it's impossible, but in conjunction with the second flaw, there's a hurdle to overcome. I hope this all makes sense.

    • @MetroidTrainer
      @MetroidTrainer  8 лет назад +1

      Ah ok that make since. Yeah it's true that the Prime game characters and the original game characters never crossed over. Connecting Sylux and Ian together would mess up the trend, but I see it as a way to connect the Prime games to the Original games.

    I would honestly hope that in Metroid Prime 4, Sylux is the main antagonist and Samus is being stalked by him, kind of like the SA-X, but more Slenderman esc. Now imagine this:
    You are on a planet colonized by galactic federation soldiers, helping them with space pirate problems. You depart from the base to carry out an assault, and when you return hours later, you find it in ruins, desecrated bodies of Feds everywhere, blood, fire, chaos. You start exploring the now destroyed facility to find out what did this, and you begin to notice clues that you are being stalked. All the power cells to power the facility reactor have been removed, and as you get into the depths of the facility, a self destruct sequence is activated. This means that once you escape under the time limit, the facility explodes with your ship in the docking bay and now you have to traverse the planet alone, no feds to help you, stalked by Sylux. At the mid-end game, you have a duel with him, and a punishing blow to his mask reveals him to be whoever or whatever may be his identity (MOST LIKELY a new character, humanoid but an alien species we have seen before). That's my hopes for prime 4.

Maybe he could have been kidnapped by Space Pirates and brain washed to use Chozo technology against Samus and the Galactic Federation because don't forget that Old Bird is mysteriously missing with out trace according to the Metroid Manga. An HD chozo would look so cool. I don't think any of the chozo who would have raised Samus would be after her. If anything maybe if there were chozo elsewhere that blamed her for the loss of the Zebes chozo maybe..., but unlikely they could fit in that armor.

    I think Sylux is not human because has not humanly roars and his version of the morph ball cant be performed by a human
    but Samus's morph ball is like in a summersault

    sylux is one of my favorite hunters next to spire an noxus. But my theory is sylux is a rogue galactic federation force trooper who betrayed the federation. i agree with your theory tho.

    I don't think the spoken powersuit being federation tech means Sylux *has* to be human, it's possible it was designed for an alien bioweapon or was easily modified to fit Sylux. Heck, he could even just be an alien that are very similar to humans

    Hey, I love this channel, but I would recommend looking over your scripts and cutting out redundant material. It’s obvious that you aren’t just padding to hit 10 minutes (since, you know, this video isn’t 10 minutes), which is good, and it means to me that you’re actually trying to make the best script possible. That’s why I get the feeling that you’ll be receptive to my constructive comments. For example, you kind of belabor the point that Ian would know how to do all of the actions we see Sylux perform. If you want me to, I can go into a little more detail (that is, if you ever end up seeing this comment). So keep on rocking, I can’t wait for your next video

    After reading a theory in the comments and this video they are both good theories, however there's one slight problem metroid other m is a whole separate story line all together and therefore Ian would be immediately disqualified an idea could be samus's brother who worked for the galactic federation and was betrayed as described in the manga but even that is a whole different story so I really can't say or theorise who sylux is.

    the only thing that could disprove this theory is the lack of proof that the one infiltrating the Federation laboratory as well as the one chasing Samus at the end of Prime 3 are the same person, let alone that it's Sylux. The ships may be similar but they aren't the same and the shoulder piece shown at the end of Federation Force may be similar to Sylux's one but the rest of the armor isn't. The character in the scene doesn't have a cannon attached to one arm and there are no green highlights whatsoever in that character's arm

      actually a producer of the Metroid Prime series confirmed that Sylux was piloting the ship in Prime 3. Also since there is talk about making a prime game focus on Samus and Sylux and the purple shoulder spike is Sylux's major feature, there is enough to assume that it was Sylux. Then again this is all a theory and I appreciate the input.

    bad video
    1:18 - 1:52 the galactic federation is an incredibly diverse organization of a far more vast scale than what we see in the games, we just predominantly see samus involved in the human side of it. it's a body comprised of many species from many worlds and many separate groups with their own goals. this is supported by the Metroid manga (which is not really relevant to the games but still canon and provides a lot of additional context to the greater metroid universe), and the Japanese version of Fusion as some details about the federation's structure in that game were lost in translation.
    2:46 - 3:13 if you claim he hates and has a personal connection with Samus just because he follows her across the Alimbic Cluster in Prime Hunters, that means every hunter in that game might as well have a personal connection to her (I know Weavel does.) I also fail to see what FF's ending has to do with Sylux's hatred for Samus and why you brought it up. The only thing you bring up that really supports his interest in Samus is the Prime 3 secret ending and even then nothing even loosely implies that to be personal
    3:48 - 3:53 aside from how banal and dry theories where a mystery character HAS to be someone we've seen before tend to be... i hate seeing other m plot points included when theorizing shit and discussing series canon, game literally adds nothing of value to the canon that fusion didn't already and even if you like it you are in deinal if you don't think nintendo just wants to memory hole the game, wash their hands of it and never acknowledge it officially again
    4:15 - 4:21 that's not a flashback sequence, that's a concept artist who felt like drawing the characters posing for a picture
    the rest of the video is extremely up-in-the-air asspull what ifs that arent worth addressing, i could just as easily argue that the chuck-e-cheese ticket muncher or ben shapiro is sylux

    One theory that has come to my mind is that Sylux could be Samus' father, who survived, and he blames the Galactic Federation for neglecting to protect his people. But I like your theory a lot. Some have said Sylux is a human, others have claimed a symbiote of some kind is controlling the suit. Perhaps in the next game, we will find out.

      Сӑвар Кан first of all, why do I see you everywhere? Second, in the manga Ridley says that he ate Samus's father's remains after he killed himself in the explosion that took out the pirates ships in order to survive (because Ridley can actually heal himself wolverine style if he eats meat) and the Chozo even said that they did a search and they guaranteed Samus was the only survivor from the attack on her colony.
