Hey, Savage Worlds is my favorite universal system too! And Sentinels is also my favorite for supers, but this one is great too. I think SW Supers works best at your lower power levels. Hulk and Thor kinda have too many dice flying and they explode too much but your X-men characters (Jean Grey and Magneto notwithstanding) are a good power level for SW.
I totally see that. My favorite heroes all tend to be that street to mid tier level. Batman, Wolverine, Daredevil, the turtles, etc. SWADE is great for those.
The one I have is the newest printing, revised for SWADE. It is pretty confusing with some of their multiple edition products. I remember I accidentally bought an older edition of a Rifts book because the cover was effectively identical except for a small change for the SWADE logo.
I think SWADE's sticking point for me is that the lower dice are more likely to explode. It just feels weird to have what feels like a bonus on a weak stat. It just feels off for some reason when we've done Deadlands and SWADE Supers. The triple ribbons in Supers were REALLY nice, though. ~~Also, when do you plan to talk about those Feng Shui books? Make sure to double-dose on caffeine when you do, for that thematic high-speed energy.~~ Never mind, I just saw your Martial Arts Systems video. Good luck with your new job if you get it!
Brim, totally get your sticking point… I felt the same way initially, but after I played it a while I asked myself, “would I rather have a d4 than this d6?” Invariably the answer still fell to the d6, but in the rare times where I got 4 d4 explosions it still felt a bit weird… but even that speaks to the cinematic nature of the system. For me that works, but understand it could be a turn off. The Feng Shui books were IN the Martial Arts video, but they didn’t get the love and time they deserved. That might be an upcoming video. Keep an eye out for it! Also, thank you much for the well wishes, just left a GREAT interview with a GREAT company. Here’s a prayer that I’m the right fit for them and they for me!
Thanks for sharing this. I have had it sitting on my shelf for a while (I just buy supers RPGs out of reflex!). I will have to sit down and start an adventure with it soon.

Is this the most recent printing? I have the super powers companion 2nd ed, and it looks a little different than mine.

Welcome. Generally the Companion books for Savage Worlds always give more than I expect them to. They are a good investment.
I agree. This is a very nice book.
Pinnacle really does put out quality product. They don’t do the volume of some bigger publishers, but they don’t put out any duds!
