Not gonna lie. I won’t be getting this any time soon. But now I have a new game concept to build upon for when my group is missing most of the players again:

I find it to be the clear Upgrade of 5e, other games have come out that do "things BETTER!" by doing things WAY to different, I can't even be interested on things like MCDM or "DC20 something" nothing against them but they literally pride themselves on doing away with things I LIKE for example: atk rolls. ToV is simply better 5e, base clases? Better Base monster? Better Rules? Clear, neatly organized Weapon mechanics? Better Magic Item lists? Better "Races": Currently it has less variation simply cause its new, but the system itself allows for better customization while keeping distinctly enough traits in the lineage to be meaningful And its easily workable with any old 5e modules for adventures or subclasses that you may already have

I don't own any of them but I like the supplements for DCC. Good material to scavenge.

Nobody is talking about it do to the ridiculous premise. If it's a game in the DCC line that deserves the title of "Best RPG that nobody is talking about" that one is Weird Frontiers RPG.

This inspired the hell out of me, One of my players just so happens to have a gladiator background PC.

I have to say, even for a line containing DCC, MCC and Weird Frontiers, that looks absolutely mental! At some point I'll probably pick it up, but have to get more out of the previous three systems first! Great post as always, Justin. Keep up the good work and better content. Take care dude :-)

The stretch goal content (like I can't believe its not fireball) was released in the "x-crawl extras" booklet. I was disappointed it wasn't put in the main book. It made me feel like the whole thin was 100% complete and they just dragged their feet on the fulfillment

I backed this one, I wish I’d picked up the modules to go with it but I’ll buy them little by little from my FLGS. I tried explaining the concept to my new gamer wife: it’s kinda like The Running Man, Hunger Games and mix in modern Roman Colosseum combat, all highly commercialized with sponsors and PPV.

"Corporate Industry" was indeed a ridiculous phrase, but I can 100% see it being used in a bit of boxed text in an old comic book.

Jeff is a legend, always seems happy to do interviews. Love Hyperborea, especially the art and layout. One thing I really like is the text box of things that everyday people in Hyperborea know, setting the tone and the fact that it's not your "normal" fantasy setting world. On a technical note, it's always a bummer when the Great Old Ones mess with internet comms, but I'll look forward to Jeff's return 🙂

Hyperborea 3e is the system I am using to teach 2 brand new TTRPG players how to play "the worlds favourite roleplaying game",whilst simultaneously coaxing 2 multi decade veterans into the OSR fold. I'm particularly pleased that the 2 newbies have this setting, play style and system as their first experience!

Tsathoggua can be a toothache sometimes got to admit- well done for the interview to both. you make some great content on your channel and Jeff is a great game designer and developer of high end products that if you ask me puts industry behemoths to shame. Both Hyperborea 3E rulebooks are pieces of art and true investments. GEMS: if you love ADD 1e/2e, basic/Becmi and you are a sword and sorcery person, you love Conan, Cthulhu Mythos, wierd stories, mystery stories, Heavy Metal music, the sense of danger and the satisfaction of survival against odds and the thriump of victory after struggle and mayhem there is no better system to run the best game/campaign ever

Did he say anything about the Khromarium Gazetter or any other upcoming project?
