Doesn't have to be to special, Craftsman is always a good choice!! That's what I use.
Most people don't do their own car maintenance and they rather have the dealership do the work for them. Thus, they paid up their ass dearly.

I recently got a 2019 Honda civic Si last summer and I had 45,000 miles on it and now it’s has 57,368 on it and not sure if the transmission needed to be change out or not let.

Is the transmission fluid drain bolt washer the same one as the oil plug? Looks pretty straightforward I hope it's this easy in my 11th Gen Si when I do it someday. I know with my 8th Gen Si it's a little more work as everything is below, nothing from the top of the engine bay.
No, the transmission bolt washer is a different size from the oil bolt washer sorry!

See how you're pouring the fluid from the quart bottle? Flip it around. Works way better. You don't have the glug-glug going on. It just pours smoothly.

Does this apply to 11th gen civic si? Can't seem to find any info. The bolt to the right is a 12mm not 10mm. But the one in the center is a 10mm. Is that the fluid check bolt for the 11th gen civic si or is the 12mm bolt the check bolt?
I haven't checked out the 11th Gen yet, but it should be the 10 mm bolt in the center!
The 3 bolts look exactly the same but the 12mm is about 2in long bolt. The 10mm in the middle is very small in perhaps

Should be very similar!
Just did it for the 3rd time on my 2020 sport 2.0L Manual and I took my air box off and after that, it’s the exact same as in the video. Make sure to inspect your bushings and cv axles while you’re down there.
You’ll unplug your MAF sensor and unclip the green clip holding it to the cover, then you can flip the cover out of the way (don’t be to rough with it), then take the front cowl off by removing the panel clips (work around the head gently so you don’t break them), then pull the rubber off the front of the air box (you don’t have to pull the two clips at all), then there are two 10mm bolts on the left side and one rubber bushing on the front right corner that will pull right off, after that you can pull your air box out and you’ll have all the room in the world.

Honda CVTs require it to be operating temp before checking.

You can get some of the specs off of the Civic Forums, but the Haynes manual has not come out for the 10th Gen Civic yet!😖

Just one washer on the drain plug!!! None on the fill plug!

What size hex socket should I use?
It's best to use a 3/8 inch socket extension, I meant to say 3/8's inch square bolt, but I said hex bolt by mistake! Thanks so much for watching 🏁💯👍
@@Zspeed it’s no problem at all. We all make mistakes. I have that exact set that you showed in the video I had to buy one to do the water pump on my wife’s ninth generation civic. So we use them to do my transmission fluid.

Yes, you can top it off by removing the 10 mm fuild level bolt that I showed at the end of the video! That should be okay and recommend if the fluid is low!

You don't need to replace those washers unless, Of course unless you over torque your shit, I have Never had my plugs LEAK even on Honda engine's with 300,000 miles on them, That's with oil changes EVERY 3,000-5000 miles, I personally own 6 different Civics from 2001 thru 2020 🤓.
so you can use a 3/8" allen to remove the 3/8" square drive plugs? Or am i confused? about to change my fluid and i'm wondering what i should use or if I need to buy anything before I start. i can't find any square drive sockets...just extensions but they all have that rounded end so I'm worried about rounding out the plugs.
You're not confused, I stated it wrong, you need a 3/8 inch extension for a socket and that should break it loose for you. You're right. There is no square drives anywhere. I couldn't find one either!
@@Zspeed got it! got the fluid changed. was able to remove the wire harness bracket from the metal tabs to give me some room without removing the airbox. thank you.
