Thank you! This is really very helpful, especially the tip about skipping some talks. I tend to attend the whole event because I feel like it is required. But you are right, it is better to rest and conserve energy for the talks which are more important to me.

I remind myself, "one cannot pour from an empty cup". Taking rest is an important part of taking care of that "social battery"!

I know! I have been tortured at work, glad I can keep up my "regular" posting monthly!
      Thanks for being patient :)

Thank you for these advice. I am going to attend my first international conference as a Ph.D. holder in August. Somehow I feel a bit more nervous than when I was a Ph.D. candidate.
I understand your feelings. I haven't meet my family since I moved in to Japan in 2016. Hopefully I can meet them again this Christmas.
    Cheers!!!

Hi Vitor, I am glad you enjoyed my advice! Enjoy your conference experience, I know Japan is strict with all the pandemic restrictions too, I hope you will see you family very soon! Feel free to let me know how your conference go, I read all messages on comments and inbox of Twitter/IG/FB.

How exciting! I remember I was thrilled to meet the big name professors it was like going to "Disneyland" for a young scientist.
If you are presenting a PPT, check out the last two videos with more tips on scientific presentation (ruclips.net/video/xTfyJ1YsgB4/видео.html) and PPT style (ruclips.net/video/zJuuS6koyrs/видео.html).
Let me know how it goes :)

These are from the infamous PhD Comics, yes I guess I am _slightly older_ . Back in Postdoc, we would book the University theater to watch this as a social event.
