Oatman az is there because it's a tourist trap. It was a gold mine boom towing in 1915. A prospector had Two claims, one he named after himself (moss) the other he named after her (oatman) near the town. In 1921 the whole place burned down accept for the hotel. Boom ended, gold dried up by 41' and the town was pretty much totally abandoned in mid 50's the rout 66' craze brought in people to rebuild the fake ghost town you see today. Not to completely shit on the town. It's pretty awesome! I've been bit by a burro twice there! There's also a semi hidden fresh water spring on one of those switchbacks going to Kingman. The area in-between the two towns is golden valley, some time in the spring the whole place is covered in yellow flowers.... it's bonkers to see
