Thanks Jim! Its a very different flavour from Sequential that is for sure buddy, it is like a caged animal at times, a definite growler of a synth, Layout is great, they have nailed it for ease of programming too. at full on power you can run 9 oscillators in 6 voice unison for one massive sound! :)
Just installed Isosceles and played along with each of your examples .... now only to #20. Very pleased and motivated, as you set a tone, with each patch, which kickstarts my ongoing usage plans. Absolutely delighted, and already plannig to add your Prophet 5, and DeepMind 12 offerings. Your accompanying Patchlist .jpg images are great tools, as initial guides, to be printed and marked up with useful comments. Fine job, Scott ! Notable step forward here. 🙏🏻
I sold my prologue to get a Waldorf iridium keyboard. I kept my system 8. I thought I had vented most of my GAS but clearly I was wrong! I am convinced I need a Trigon 6! It sounds like it’s HORNY and HUNGRY and will not take no for an answer. Better feed it! I guess I better start saving my lunch money
Ambient/Generative I'd say The Waldorf Iriudium or Quantum. Coldplay wise from what I can hear they use Korg Triton, and multilayered synths, some are sessions recorded in the studio and synced back with them playing live. Listening to their most recent track I'd say the moog one, it is a softer tone. The Trigon can do relatively soft tones, but id does default to a powerhouse.
This new song actually has some cool synth sounds. Which do you reckon would nail them better between the One and Trigon? ruclips.net/video/zKQ1ai_ymh0/видео.html
If you had a Summit and a moog ss 37, wich if the sequentials 6 - prophet 6. Ob 6 or Trigon would be ... more different in terms of just sound character? I find it difficult to really understand how the trigon sounds....seems the moat flexible if those 3 ? Great soundpack...
I do own Summit and Sub37, and in comparison, The T6 has a definite Moog sound due to the Ladder Filters and many of the MemoryMoog functions too, if you are looking for a big bold & growling synth this is the one. but it is very similar in character to the Sub37 and also has similarities in its filter mods to the summit. The prophet 6 is a workhorse, it's 100% the Sequential sound people love, the filter is stunning, and really is different to the Summit and S37, if you like brassy, smooth and very warm sounds the P6 is great. The OB6 is a synth that had to grow on me. but when it did, I fell in love with it! it is one that definitely has its own character, its very warm, and just seems to feel alive. it can also be big and bold, but it really shines at pads, and leads. and is probably the most different to Summit and S37 I'd say the Trigon is more flexible for sure, any of the three are lovely in their own way, but if you are looking for something with a different sound, I'd go with OB6 :)
I'm thinking about getting this or the Prophet 6 as my first Polysynth. I really like that the Prophet has a high pass filter but slightly prefer the user interface of the Trigon. What are the advantages of the Prophet besides that it looks better and is already established?
Hi, sorry for the late response, this one seems to have slipped by me. Either of the two would be an amazing synth for your first poly. But the P6 is more of a bread and butter synth and would be most suited to someone who hasn't owned an analog poly before. The T6 is more of a beast, but needs taming if you are looking for smooth lush pads etc. It's really dependant on what kinda sound you are looking for buddy. The UI on the T6 is definitely better, but the P6 is an amazing synth too. Not sure if you have a dealer local where you can try them both out and see what suits you best?
@@scottmcauleysounds Question: I’m looking to perhaps sell my Rev 2 or keep it and buy a module of another prophet. If you could only have one prophet would it be P5/P10, P6, OB6 or T6? And which one would pair best with a Rev2? I do like having sequencer/arp but everyone raves about the warmth of the P5/10 Rev4
@@SlavicSon The P5/10 is stunning, and as far as raw analog sound goes, I think it is a tough one for anyone to beat. However, it is mono output (which is easily fixed by double tracking or using efx) but limited as far as modulation capabilities if being used in Live performances. The Prophet 6 is a beautiful instrument and if it was a workhorse synth I was looking for I'd go for P6. OB6 is one of my all time favourites, it oozes Character and once a bit of time spent with it, it blew me away. I always struggle to advise these kind of questions, because at the end of the day every person has a different taste in sound :) but in a nutshell For Raw Analog Loveliness - P5/10 For Bread n Butter Creamy - P6 For Warmth Pads & Character - OB6 all will go well with REV2

Man, I kind of ignored the Trigon - everything I've heard sounds very similar to things I already have. Until now. Another home run!

Which do you recommend for sort of ambient music/coldplay etc. Moog One or Trigon? Both seem like they'd fit well.

Maybe a Juno-106 would be best for these sounds?
Love the patch: SM Zonked! Very well done. Am considering buying the Trigon; should I do so, will definitely buy your patches. New sub 😊
Thanks! It’s a great synth. If you decide to get one. It will not disappoint :)

Wonderful mellow sound. If only the side panels were darker.... :(

This.
4 screws and some wood stain. This is such a ridiculous complaint.

The light color is a welcomed change. People want the same vintage looks knobs sounds over and over. Let’s progress…
