So this is the 3rd recipe I have done ( chickpea and lentil soup ,masala omelette being the other two) and all three have been an absolute winner , thanks, can’t wait to try the next one .
love it when your mum cooks with you. I'm so glad you cooked this but i know if i cooked it it never be as good as yours. your amazing and so inspirational.
The dish was a dish developed by cooks of the British Raj as a way to use up leftovers using a cooking technique introduced by the Chinese. Instead of the braising the chicken and peppers together for hours like most curries, the ingredients for Jalfrezi are quickly stir-fried. This not only makes it a viable weeknight meal, but it also preserves the flavor and texture of the peppers and onions.
I have cooked three of your recipes and must say they all turned out fantastic and very tasty. This is on my next to cook list it looks wonderful my mouth was watering just watching thanks for posting
Chetna. I have been a huge fan of yours since I first saw you on Bakeoff. This looks absolutely fabulous and is one of my favourite dishes. I will be having a go at this very soon. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for posting this, and my very best wishes to your mum too
Hi Chetna. Just found your channel and I love your recipes. Pls could you clarify the quantity of the tomato mix your mum added. Were they blended and were they fresh? Thanks in advance.
Your mom seems like a lovely cook. Want to try making this dish. Btw, I have a request for you/your mom. It would be nice to see her version of a Mughlai chicken or a rustic home-style chicken curry.
I'll try making this with soy chicken. Your version looks so good! Ketchup is a secret ingredient in many Western-style Japanese dishes too. Thanks for your wonderful recipes and your guest chef.
There are so many different curry powders. I need more information what kind of curry powder you put in there :) Thx in advance. Btw: Cooked your tikka masala and it turned out to be the best curry i've ever had.
Your Chicken thigh Tikka Masala recipe was outstanding (I've made it 5 times now). Looking forward to cooking this one. Quick question, how many blended onions did you use (I didn't catch it in the video)?

Aloha, Chetna. I’ve just harvested my first crop of homegrown turmeric root. I am going to slice, dehydrate and grind into powder. QUESTION: should I boil and/or peel before dehydrating, or not? I would be grateful for advice from you and Mummy-ji. Thank you 🙏🏻🇬🇧🇺🇸
Food with Chetna Thank you so much! I made this tonight and it was delicious!! Have also made the karahi, the chickpea and a couple of soups and bought your second book. Going to make the pepper chicken curry next. Thanks again.

Hi Chetna! Where can I find the ingredients list and the recipe?
Thank you for your great videos! Xx
The ingredients list and recipe are the video, it is not available anywhere else.
@@FoodwithChetna That's too bad because I can't understand about half of what your mother is saying. What was the white ingredient in the sauce?
Your Chicken thigh Tikka Masala recipe was outstanding (I've made it 5 times now). Looking forward to cooking this one.
Quick question, how many blended onions did you use (I didn't catch it in the video)?

Want to try this too... ☺
Please do and hope you will enjoy
Thank you very much Chetnas mum! For inspiring her and sharing your knowledge (even if this is an English dish) :oD
What is the item that your mom fried in the oil? Please let me know thanks
she put 2 onions mixed to a paste.
Could you pls make kadhai paneer?
Yes will do

I have never done it myself but dont think you have to peel it
@@FoodwithChetna thank you for your reply :)
Dear Chetna, I love your videos - I like to use olive oil in cooking, but you don't seem to use it, so I was wondering why?
Hi Chetna! Please, put subtitles in your vídeos! This chicken is simple, beauty and delicious!
Glad you like the recipe!
What was added at 1:30?
Hi dear Chetna, can you please make a video of cooking soya mate?
Ok will do!
Thank you, ladies!
you are very welcome.
We don’t have the tomato purée you use here in the US. What should I do.
any tomato paste?
can i do the same recipe but with paneer? 😀
Yes yes it is great with paneer too!
Great video but what’s added/said 1.30 min to 1.45 .?
Onions
Does anyone know how many onions are used? Would they just be blitzed with a little water / oil to make the paste?
use one or 2 onions and blitz, no need for water or oil
Food with Chetna Thank you so much! I made this tonight and it was delicious!! Have also made the karahi, the chickpea and a couple of soups and bought your second book. Going to make the pepper chicken curry next. Thanks again.
aw wow your Mum is so cool 😗
Thanks Ash!
How much of tomato do you add? Did your mum use fresh tomatoes? Thank you
yes fresh tomatoes, 2 of them
American sauce as a secret ingredient? I am shocked! :D
it is a good one though
It's not an Indian dish anyways ...so doesn't matter !!!
I request you to make a Indian style chicken curry with frozen meat to avoid rubber textur
Sadly I don't use frozen meat at all, always fresh and from the butchers.
Yes it's good to go with fresh chicken but staying in US sometimes I end up cooking with frozen chicken
👍👍👍👍👍👍😀😀
Thanks
Thank you chetna
you are welcome.
I'm guilty of using ketchup in many sabzis 😂
do you?
Food with Chetna Yes! For example, a quick chatpata alu sabzi with ketchup and few spices when short of fresh tomatos or packaged puree!
No ginger and garlic fried with the onion??
Well you can if you like
Food with Chetna will do, many thanks!! Gonna make this now!!
this is delicious but i've added more chilli as i like it hot.
Yes chilli is always best to use as per your taste.
More british than roast beef ;) Looked far better than the general take-away style.
Neurosis; Looks way better than take away style.. Take-away's are far too greasy and full of salt and sugar IMO.
It is really really good, do try
Yes I agree.
1. Why hasn't your mum got her own channel? 2. Another Bambino on the way Chetna?
Well she is happy cooking with me and nooooooooo!
Jalfrezi isn't an authentic dish?! I'm crushed!
Sorrrrrrry!
Not enough sauce for me 🤔
this is not a dish with sauce
