Bumbi I have tried many of your recipes and have never been disappointed. This is one of my favourite recipes. I've also looked at other chefs recipes but they are not as good as yours. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and cooking knowledge that makes our meal times very tasty.
Totally agree! Chicken thighs tastes much better with more juices and they are not dried. This dish looks great! Love your teaching motto “I made the mistake so you don’t.” You are a very good chef!
Thank you so much for another delicious recipe. I'm a lover of Jalfrezi in particular and having followed this recipe, it's definitely my favourite take on this dish. And you make it so easy to follow and create in my own kitchen to share with family and friends. Many thanks Bumbi.
This lady's voice is very soothing. Almost hypnotic! Jalfrezi was the first curry I tried in an Asian restaurant over 35 years ago and it is still one of my favourites. Have successfully tried other recipes but there is something about this one which makes it so simple yet very tasty. Thank you Bumbi. I have subscribed so that I can hear your voice again!
@@CurriesWithBumbi I have just made this for my wife and I. There is a supply issue with fresh tomatoes in southern England. 4 supermarkets tried and all out of stock so used tinned plum tomatoes. Meant I had to run the tomatoes down a bit more because of the excess liquid. Your tip for the Methi leaves was was fantastic (now I know!). No ketchup so tomato puree. All in all it tastes fantastic, great depth of flavours. Thank you so much. Also love the historical/native perspectives on the dishes.
absolutely loved making this curry, the balance of spice was fantastic, I used the chicken thighs and added some fresh sliced green chillies for an extra kick
Made this today but made it without meat, oil, salt or sugar. I added extra vegetables and a couple of tablespoons of coconut yoghurt near the end. It was absolutely amazing. Cloves and cardamom is my new favourite spice combination. Thanks Bumbi
We get most of our salt from processed foods, don't be scared to salt your cooking, it'll taste much better and it's not unhealthy. We need salt to survive. Just cut down on processed foods if you're worried about salt because that's where 90% of it comes from.
Made this tonight for dinner. So very good! I just discovered your channel about a week ago and have been watching all of your videos. I am going to be very busy making so many more of your recipes. Thank you!
Just can't believe how quickly these weeks fly by. Hope you are ok. Made this today (recipe68). It was absolutely gorgeous, it really was. I served it with pilau rice, garlic and coriander naan, samosas, pakoras/bhajis and a mixed pickle. It truly was restaurant style. Thank you so much. Happy Holi to you and your family. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care xxx
Thanks for your wishes my friend. You will soon be reaching recipe 100. You are right the weeks do fly by very quickly. That was a very scrumptious dinner that you laid out today. You made me hungry 😋
Made this yesterday Bumbi it was delicious. I followed your instructions and wow this was better than my local restaurants, seriously. Thank you so much have you ever thought about making a book with all these wonderful recipes, you so kindly shear with us, I would be first inline to buy it.
So very happy to hear that you liked it. Homemade food is always better than restaurants and the best part is you know what is going into it😀. Thanks for sending your feedback. Regarding cookbook, it is always something in the back of my mind for the future. Hope I can do that one day.
Thank you very much for your such wonderful recipes Bumbi. Tried this recipe this week, but replace it with eggplant. Was so delicious. You are so inspiring 🥰😘
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for pointing out your error. First time I've seen someone pre fry the chicken for a jalfrezi I wonder what is the reason to not add it raw at the same stage?
Chicken Jalfrezi is a total winner! I cooked it recently, and the taste was out of this world. The flavors and spices came together perfectly. I can't wait to whip up this delicious dish again soon. 😋🍗 #ChickenJalfreziLove
Would have expected a few more chillies in this tbh. Always like adding small Birds Eye chillies to mine. Really like the idea of adding chicken thighs, I’ll do that next time. Overall it looked delicious so well done.
NAMASKAR Bumbi and Bo 🙏🏽🐾🐾 Cooking Jalfrezie tonight on last holiday night here 👍👍🤞 Feedback Saturday when home with Mrs Colin. Still waiting for the Bumbi Friday video!!!…. ❤Colin 🙏🏽👍🏴🇮🇳
I always use chicken thighs in my curries. For this, I would also add some fres green chillies sliced diagonally almost at the end. I have a friend who calls his jalfrezi a @Joe Frazier@ after the boxer as he likes it to have a great punch!
Loved the jalfrezi recipe. I've seen it in menu cards when once upon a time we used to go out eating 😃. Now thanks to your channel, which has been such a blessing in the pandemic, i can think of rustling up restaurant-style food!!

Fantastic im going to try that.
Fantastic and colorful like Bollywood Bumbi! I sometimes add store-bought stock to my curries instead of water
Great description Anil 👍🏽. Adding chicken stock is a great idea. Adds more flavor than just plain water.

Bumbi, can you please confirm the number of people you cook this for, as I am doing it for 14 and need to work out the quantities. Thanks in advance
It serves 4 to 5
Lovely dish however i would suggest chicken breast but use the velveting procedure. This way the meat will be super tender.
What do you mean by velveting procedure
Bumbi I really love these restaurant recipes and without the use of that horrible Base gravy.x

I would say double the quantity of all except chilli powder, black peppercorns, and sugar.
