No doubt about it, Anthony Bramante and John Connelly were/are easily one of the best (and most underrated) guitar teams in all of Heavy Metal (not just Thrash)!
I just converted my Survive vinyl via USB. This is the best riff ever. Danny Lilker signed my Survive poster at a record store near St.John's when this came out: He wrote: "Rise from the ashtray and Survive without beer." ~haaaaaaaaaaaaa
This has always been one of my favorite early thrash bands and it was fucking great to see them live at dumps like "He Country Club" and since I can't find ANY of their stuff for under $75 it's nice to have RUclips !
jesus, both metallica and nuclear assault kick ass, they both have their own unique sound, i love both bands, i think most nuclear assault fans agree that metallica are amazing too.
@dante4d ... it's hard to beat that german thrash from the 80's and 90's... i loved it way back in high-school, and still jam on it today... (gonna be 40 in a month-- and still rockin' hard!)
i just bough nuclear assault's shirt from this album (: has the album cover on the front and on the back it says "survive" with those guys all lookin badass (: =P
@thatentrenchingtool Oh, I've thrashed the f@** out to my tape as well. I just always kept my tapes in good condition put em back in the cases and still have them all and 90% of them still play great i got every tape from bands like overkill testament nuclear assault sanctuary venom annihilator savatage death destruction dark angel hobbs angel of death trouble king diamond mercyful fate megadeth slayer anthrax if it was old school thrash and it was good i still have it.
@thirty2ncountin I am truly one of those metalheads dude, regarding the BIG FOUR they WERE the BIG FOUR because they were at the top of their game in the thrash/speed metal scene, simple. And remember the underground wasn't just soley thrash metal of course, it was doom metal(Trouble),power metal(Helloween),progressive metal(Voivod),death metal(Possessed),crossover(D.R.I.),black metal(Bathory).
Honestly, I don't dislike the majority of metalcore/deathcore because of the people who follow it or listen to it. In fact most of my close friends are into that music. But only because they like to make idiots out of themselves at the shows. Moshing, hardcore dancing, pits, walls of death, etc. But I've heard BOO. They're not horrible in terms of song structure, lyrics and diversity. If there's one deathcore band I absolutely love to death it's Thy Art Is Murder. True prodigies.
@ra208849 .... yes, coma of souls is another great album.... actually, all their stuff is pretty excellent. you'll never hear me talking shit about Kreator.
@kingdiamondtheeye Yes. You are an uneducated musician if you are willing to say that testament are generic. I love all first 5 of their albums. To say they are generic is just stupidity. 1. listen to their first two albums - classic thrash with amazing solos. 2. listen to practice what you preach - melodic thrash, sounds nothing like anyone else. People think chuck billy sounds like hetfield on it but ive gotten past that. 3. Listen to their ballads - amazing
Yeh me neither, I dislike it because of how it actually sounds, although people calling it metal is annoying. Never heard of that band, I guess I'll try them out.
@ShreddinThrash Just making a point. Testament quite a versatile band musically and imo dont actually sound like anyone else. You think otherwise, whatever.
@ShreddinThrash you dont understand his solos arent generic the music it self is. Do you know what generic is? Sounds like everyone else, which they did.
If you like Vektor then I assume you like Skeletonwitch? Or have at least heard of them? But I completely agree. Most metalcore these days isn't very good. A contest of who can be most brutal was already won by Cryptopsy in 1994 when they unleashed Blasphemy Made Flesh on the world, so I don't see why these bands keep trying today. Nuclear Assault and earlier thrash like Sepultura and Slayer is where the shit is at. Fucking metal!
@kingdiamondtheeye Besides you missed the point. You say testament are generic. The word generic means to be part of a certain group or in music, to sound like alot of other people. You think testament sound like metallica? So they are generic? Even if they came around later they are still superior imo.
@kingdiamondtheeye LOL! Thats your opinions sir, only your opinions. Peronsally i think skolnick has the best metal guitar solos. Pure classic mix of emotion, speed and melody. Far from generic. If you cant see it, I pity you.
@kingdiamondtheeye 4. The Ritual - more of a melodic rock album such as electric crown - different from everything else they done 5. Death metal era is also another thing testament have done. 6. Formation of damnation and their NEW abum coming 2012! (oh yes) Don't talk nonsense about TestAmenT
@dimipeli Agreed. Only true metalheads recognize the greatness of bands like Kreator, Nuclear Assault, Overkill, Death Angel, Sacred Reich etc. Seems like if you talk to posers you'll get into the typical Big Four discussion.....not like those bands sucked or anything, but it shows a "fundametal" lack of knowledge on the subject.
@JacksonEspFender Dude Testament really doesn't, the others maybe. Exodus already does, Overkill released too many shitty albums before iron bound and Nuclear Assault does.
@ShreddinThrash No testament is still very generic, and overkill has released not enough good albums, i like souls of black and the new order and thats it.
i love how the guitars are so unproduced, it gives off this echo kind of sound when played. thats why i like 80's and 90's thrash the most cause of the unproduced sound that gives off that type of atmosphere. also is why i hate modern day thrash cause production is so high the riffs sound clean, exctremely polished and overproduced.
Fucking awesome. But there are several ways of making it even more awesome. 1) Max Volume, Max Bass. 2) Get fucking Stoned! 3) Listen to Slipknot or Limp Bizkit or any metalcore shit prior to this and it will make this sound EVEN better.
I didn't say they are metalcore. What makes you think I am stuck in the 80's? I listen to new, good, true metal bands like Havok, Vektor, Hexen, Enforcer, Skull Fist, Warpath, Evil Army, Fog of War, Cauldron, Steelwing. Those bands you listed suck to me and I have no interest in listening to "core" music.
And to me, this is WAY more brutal than any death metal or deathcore. In your face, anti-establishment fucking THRASH. I dont care if you hit the snare more bpm with your boring blast beats, it doesnt make it heavier to me. Not being able to understand the vocals doesnt make a band heavier to me. Talking about blood and guts and all that shit doesnt make a band heavier to me.
Yeh I've heard Skeletonwitch, they are pretty good I guess. Yeh pretty much all metalcore and deathcore sucks in my experience, probably because it is full of trend hoppers and not real metalheads, much like what happened with Nu Metal. And it is generic as fuck, atleast thrash has varied riffs rather than endless chugging on the E string. There is one band that I think is pretty good though, Born of Osiris, listen to 'Recreate' if your curious haha.
Deathcore, metalcore, nu metal etc. aren't. Heavy metal is not 80 years old, more like 42-45. Black Sabbath is not a guy, it is a band. That's pretty ignorant and disrespectful to talk shit about the creators of heavy metal. Im guessing your one of those emo/scene kids who needs to find the most 'brutal' music because he is mad that kids pick on him as he trys his hardest not to fit in and thinks his life is shitty when he has every opportunity to succeed in life, unlike many other people.
Im not close minded I just find it boring. My fav kind of bands are Coroner, Toxik, Helstar, Artillery, Death, Vektor, Megadeth etc. Bands with insane technical skill, who put together melody with fast and heavy parts with great vocals, unique styles of music and good lyrics. CC's songs are just the same to me. Their lyrical content is too immature for me. Being 'brutal' means jack shit to me, I look who plays the best music. People dont say death metal isnt a part of heavy metal they say...
Lol you too high bro, you aint reading what I write properly at all and it looks like your just looking for some gay internet argument. I never said anything about death metal being emo, I said you probably are one. There are no has beens in metal, it is timeless, you sound like a fan of chart music. In my first comment I listed the new bands I liked. The bands you listed are not death metal, they are deathcore, which is not heavy metal.
Tbh I do kinda hate metalcore and deathcore. I have no problem with people listening to it, that's their choice, but people need to understand that those subgenres are 'core' genres, not part of heavy metal. I like some death metal, mainly early death metal. I like Death, Athiest, Morbid Angel, Obituary etc. but I don't like the Cannibal Corpse style with cookie monster vocals in which I cannot understand a fucking word, and death metal is now just generic and soulless imo.
@ShreddinThrash Their Death metal blows and their new shit sucks, cause the drums sound like shit and it sounds too modern. I have listened to their first two and i didn't like the legacy, new order is good, practice what you preach is good but still generic.
80s THRASH IS THE FUCKING BEST!
Hardcore for metalheads, metal for punks.
Good ol' stuff for everyone.
feidtublec indeed .
Basically. What describes crossover
"Survive" sin dudas el mejor álbum de Nuclear Assault.
The Best
best thrash vocals!
Bro honestly one of the best old school thrash bands I wish I could find this on streaming services
You can always go the soulseek route.
Amazing saw them 3x in the 80s best decade ever for thrash Metal and concerts.
awesome band! saw them on this tour, Liverpool royal court 1988 \m/ \m/
50 years old and still haven't found speakers that can withstand me and this band. Turn that shit UP!
No doubt about it, Anthony Bramante and John Connelly were/are easily one of the best (and most underrated) guitar teams in all of Heavy Metal (not just Thrash)!
Brian Reddish fuck yeahhhhh
This song is CRUSHING, that's all there is to it. I love it when John screams "THERE'S NOT MUCH!"
I just converted my Survive vinyl via USB. This is the best riff ever. Danny Lilker signed my Survive poster at a record store near St.John's when this came out: He wrote:
"Rise from the ashtray and Survive without beer."
~haaaaaaaaaaaaa
Nuclear Assault rules!
This has always been one of my favorite early thrash bands and it was fucking great to see them live at dumps like "He Country Club" and since I can't find ANY of their stuff for under $75 it's nice to have RUclips !
long live nuclear assault
Bloody marvelous!
Takes me back 20 years..
Im so glad i clicked on this on the related videos
jesus, both metallica and nuclear assault kick ass, they both have their own unique sound, i love both bands, i think most nuclear assault fans agree that metallica are amazing too.
I love Nuclear Assault but got bored of Metallica after the Black Album and have hardly listened to them since.
@JacksonEspFender Fuck yeah man!!!
nuclear assault played a major part in my high-school years... ( i graduated way back in 1990) --- and they are still fun as fuck to listen to...
Forgot how fucking brilliant this tune is!!
Current objective: Survive
Ancious to see them live next month!!
Now we'll see what remains for the weak, there's not much!
Now we'll see what remains for the weak, there's not much!
im wearing my nuclear assault - survive shirt as i listen to this
@dante4d ... it's hard to beat that german thrash from the 80's and 90's... i loved it way back in high-school, and still jam on it today... (gonna be 40 in a month-- and still rockin' hard!)
THRASH TIL DEATH
One of NA best :-)))
I have the LP. "Only true metalheads are aware of Nuclear Assault" Its true.
I remember having this on vinyl photoalbum, fucking awesome band!
i just bough nuclear assault's shirt from this album (: has the album cover on the front and on the back it says "survive" with those guys all lookin badass (: =P
Nuclear Assault, Testament, Overkill and Exodus deserve a lot more credit then they recieve/recieved
The true big 4.
@@okigi-wo5zm early exodus vocals are shit. though I still enjoy the albums
perfect end of the world music right here!
@simony999 Oh yea, well I have the original cassette tape in brand new condition.
Ale kawałek z moich młodych lat ze szkoły
buena banda estara mañana en mortal fest en guadalajara jalisco mexico buena banda para cerrar
I have an ultra rare CD of this album from 1988. I just came on here to brag.

I guess some people have to listen to them live to appreciate them. Testament, Exodus and Megadeth, sickest concert I've been too.
Honestly, I don't dislike the majority of metalcore/deathcore because of the people who follow it or listen to it. In fact most of my close friends are into that music. Metallica has nothing on NA
Dam straight .
They're both top 10 bands
@ra208849 .... yes, coma of souls is another great album.... actually, all their stuff is pretty excellent. you'll never hear me talking shit about Kreator.
@kingdiamondtheeye Yes. You are an uneducated musician if you are willing to say that testament are generic. I love all first 5 of their albums. To say they are generic is just stupidity.

NOW WE'LL SEE - WHAT REMAINS - FOR THE WEAK - THERE'S NOT MUCH!
@ShreddinThrash Oh god damn, that really hurt.
Very badass tunage from these guys. Check out Heavy Metal Blood Drive if you get a chance.
@slayyer000 I agree in some cases.
@kingdiamondtheeye I hope those 3 months have done alot to your mind.
If you like Vektor then I assume you like Skeletonwitch? Or have at least heard of them? But I completely agree. Most metalcore these days isn't very good. Drunk and stoned skating down the road with my walkman on batteries
low so the sound is kind of weird, and I even still had hair!
@kingdiamondtheeye Besides you missed the point. You say testament are generic. The word generic means to be part of a certain group or in music, to sound like alot of other people. dude napalm death was b4 most of those bands
@kingdiamondtheeye 4. The Ritual - more of a melodic rock album such as electric crown - different from everything else they done
5. Death metal era is also another thing testament have done.
6. Formation of damnation and their NEW abum coming 2012! (oh yes)
Don't talk nonsense about TestAmenT

@dante4d Kreator? get the "Enemy of God" CD/DVD combo... it's the best material they've ever put out... (IMHO)
try amazon
@JacksonEspFender Dude Testament really doesn't, the others maybe. Exodus already does, Overkill released too many shitty albums before iron bound and Nuclear Assault does.
@Anthraxfan185 Survive is far rarer
@ShreddinThrash No testament is still very generic, and overkill has released not enough good albums, i like souls of black and the new order and thats it.
This is the continuation of Brain Death of the past album?
i love how the guitars are so unproduced, it gives off this echo kind of sound when played. thats why i like 80's and 90's thrash the most cause of the unproduced sound that gives off that type of atmosphere. also is why i hate modern day thrash cause production is so high the riffs sound clean, exctremely polished and overproduced.
an one more went down

@SUPERSOAPPP Testament is generic, which is why they got big and they sound like Metallica a lot sometimes.
@brianblackforest Napalm Death has been around a little longer than Deicide....hahahah....lol
Covid-19
Check out Vegas Rhythm Kings
I only have the shirt :p
coma of soul is the best
Thinking about Japan and those nuclear power plants.
That dislike must be from a bieber fan...
☠️🇨🇴🤘🤘🔥🔥
Agree!
Nothing!!!!!
One didn't survive.
Little mistake here mate...
Metallica kicked ass.... past tense :P
no because it's the best! haha
_current objective:_
@Sal3Metallica *Metallica WAS bad ass
I didn't say they are metalcore. What makes you think I am stuck in the 80's? 4o\m/
Despotism is the only way..
May never compare the good old school thrash metal that shit again as Metallica and his Death Magnetic!!!!!!!!!!!
@kingdiamondtheeye Better than king diamond.
