His vocal chords have been well lubricated over the years with burger juice it seems. Hey but your right unquestionably the same vocals I heard when opened up my first Nuclear Assault album Game Over.
First time I've ever watched this band, this was just a random click on RUclips. Had that rare moment where my jaw dropped and I knew I'd be checking this band out again. Thoughts as they came to me: - Absolute chaos on stage. - Loved the delivery of the lyrics by the singer - Drummer was in a league of his own - Energy was incredible, wish I'd been there - A really random-looking bunch of blokes, like a pub-band, no image, all about the music and having a good time - Best thing I've seen on RUclips in ages
i'll take take it you're a newbie, nothing wrong with that but i mean this band is legendary they did have "their image" for many years and they are legendary ,only JOHN CONELLY ,vox/guitar and DANNY LILKER bass extraordinaire remain from the original line up ,still they deliver the goods, glad you like them, cheers!
ForViewingOnly Man, PLEASE check Live At Hammersmith Odeon. Glenn Evans is WAY better at the drums, plus Anthony Bramante was still the leading guitar. Those were the good ol' days. Best lineup ever.
They are one of the OG NY thrash bands. I’m glad you have discovered them. Nick Barker isn’t the original drummer, but he is a savage. Check out his grind band Lock Up. Also, the bassist, Danny, is in Brutal Truth, amongst other bands. He’s great. Cheers!!!
Glad you found them. I grew up with this band, Anthrax, Overkill, and many more OG NYC thrash bands. The are in real life exactly as they appear, just a group of dudes playing music.
They still have it and John Connelly' voice is perfectly identical as in the back in the 80's/90's! Awesome! Thank you very fuckin much for the upload.
4:50 How cool is the singer to invite some stranger to sing the line - and then how cool is that stranger to wander away headbanging? This is why nuclear assault are still so good live. People don't want to stand and film with their zombie phones - they want to mosh and love the gig. Saw them in 88 and they were as good then. Love NA.
Remember Nuclear Assault well. Love watching the crowd at this festival, just all out maniacal fun, and giving this great old school band the support they deserve.
From the album Survive - Equal Rights - there is a vocal blast at the end that is insanely long and it sounds like a single breath. Blows Dave Mustaine (Liar) out of the water.
Saw them in Leicester, London and Dublin (with Slayer) on the Survive tour, and then Bradford, Newcastle, Manchester, London, Nottingham, Milton Keynes and Wolverhampton on the HWC tour (with Dark Angel/DAM and also Candlemass in London). It was a great time to be alive.
Diablo 666 Yeah. Actually the first London show was in March ‘89 with Slammer/DAM/Re-Animator. “Growing Roses After The Holocaust”. They were my favourite band at the time. When they did the HWC tour, I had friends living near most of the cities they played, so it was a fun time. Those were the days....
Always loved Nuclear Assault. Still have my cd's but wish I had my old records. Such a great thrash band! Wish I was there in the crowd. They look like they're having just a little bit of fun.
I'm mostly into old school punk & hardcore. Nuclear Assault came around when I'd already left metal behind. Someone dragged me to a Black Flag gig in 85 & I rarely looked at metal anymore. Now I'm older and appreciate the music, not just genres or bands or people. Anyway, like so many here say, this band is incredible! They are SO GOOD! I'm no musician, but the drummer is mesmerizing, I'm not a fan of that clicking drum sound but I like it here, and he seems to really have his shit together. The guitarist, bassist...WOW, but that guy on the microphone is what really grabs me about Nuclear Assault! He's got a punk rock sound and his unique voice just goes off! Love it! He's so short, and looks just happy & relaxed with his Flying V & mike! In just two songs NA have become one of my favorite metal bands!
I am so happy to now these guys are still playing. They were one of the first thrash bands I discovered and they sound as awesome as ever WOW!! After this covid crap goes away I hope to find tickets. True Metal Legends WOW!!!
It appears to me they have only gotten better over time. One of the best thrash metal I have ever seen. The second song on here "CRITICAL MASS" is my favourite & possibly the best thrash metal song.
Holy shit. I saw these guys in the very early 90s at nottingham trent universtiy in the gym hall. Fucking mental night. Dan was in the student bar beforehand.
Long time fan of this band, i usually notice how tight the guitar (s) n bass are, but here, I salute the man mowing on the riser, this drummer is on point!
I so regret the fact that when I saw them many years ago I didn't know them and paid them no attention. I fucking love them now. PS: Is that Nick Barker on drums?
I heard Glenn talking about how he deliberately does rim shots to get a heavier sound out of the drums. Barker is so good he plays too clean almost haha I think you can actually hear the difference on critical mass
Real thrash legends. Huge respect to this old school crowd , as well. No fuckin cell phones and bullshit , just moshing and stagediving like the real old thrash days.
His unique vocal same as thirty years ago, amazing
HAHAHA.....had NO idea these fucker's were still playing. That was awesome!
Who is on drums ?
@@gekkomatic Nicholas Barker
Fucker still has a full head of hair too!🤘🏼

Most underrated band of all time!!!

Lenny Dodson yeah, fuck cell phones at gigs!
Amen brother!
A-FUCKIN-MEN
Only nokia 3310 admited
Old school thrash !!!! Still a way underrated band !!!!!!!!!!
Agreed. Back in 89' listened to Handle With Care like crazy. Old School thrash at its best and they were underrated.
They still have it and John Connelly' voice is perfectly identical as in the back in the 80's/90's! Awesome!
Thank you very fuckin much for the upload.

and on top of that, the stranger sure as fuck nailed his bit!

2. Critical Mass - 03:40
(From Handle with Care, 1989)
Critical Mass is a genuine classic
Yep takes me back a lot of years \m/
Mtv's headbangin ball of early 90s 🤘🤘
Very fuckin true
The best of
I miss nuclear assault but I wish I was still back in the 80s. That's when trash was the best thing that ever happened to me. I miss those days bro
I think that every day best time i had bro👍👍👍
Survive by Nuclear Assault is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
Man..........
The world needs this now!
Metal for life!
You can really FEEL the positive energy and good vibes through the computer screen
This was true unity
Remember Nuclear Assault well. Love watching the crowd at this festival, just all out maniacal fun, and giving this great old school band the support they deserve.
John Connelly turning into Udo Dirkschneider
I was thinking Patton Oswalt
He was always a little bit of Udo in his voice, but now he looks like him, too.
He has the same energy as that long haired, shorts wearing, bare chested singer from thirty years ago too.
Fusión
I was thinking the same : ))) And Dan Lilker is a fuckin genius. They are unbelievable. So fuckin rule.
There’s no mistaking that voice ... still got it
Can enough recognize this fuckers by the noise 1000 miles away
From the album Survive - Equal Rights - there is a vocal blast at the end that is insanely long and it sounds like a single breath. Blows Dave Mustaine (Liar) out of the water.
Hit me right in the old school. They are just as tight and intense as they were the first time I heard them, almost 30 years ago.
Danny is a KILLER on the bass! Easily in my top 5 bass players
Dude's fucking dope
Pick swipes his bass ? !! 💥
Nuclear Assault and Dark Angel haven't lost their shape after many years
I was lucky enough to see the on their Survive tour back in 89!
mandalorian233 surely 89 was the Handle with Care tour? Was in Europe anyhow.
Bastard

Fuck, I was pretty sure he was Lars Szöke :-) Pretty awesome too !!
How many of Dan Lilker's bands have played at OEF anyway?
All.
As well as Nick Barker and Shane Embury!
Game Over was the first album I bought on wax, that shit changed my life. I'm so glad they're still kickin like this
Great performance, I had a blast being there!
Fucking old school with Nick on drums! Siiiiick
You don't many shows like this anymore. Brings back memories when there was nothing between the band and audience.
holy shit!!!! as soon as connelly singing it brought back so many memories of my teenage years. so awesome to see they are still around kicking ass!
Always loved Nuclear Assault. Still have my cd's but wish I had my old records. Such a great thrash band! Wish I was there in the crowd. They look like they're having just a little bit of fun.
If the vocals don't give it away then Danny Likers hair tells you who this is 🤘🤘🤘
Or the massive distortion on the Bass guitar! \m/
I am a teenager again!

Without shoes playing in the concert, FUCKING BRUTAL !!
Been listening to these guys for over 25 years! Still killing it!
I didn’t know Patton Oswalt fronted a heavy metal band.
Underated comment lol
Barker has to play in Crowbar for once, he gonna fit perfectly
the band weights allready half a tone without him
Heavy music by heavy people :)

Amazing crowd, amazing security
It appears to me they have only gotten better over time.
One of the best thrash metal I have ever seen.
The second song on here "CRITICAL MASS" is my favourite & possibly the best thrash metal song.
The percussion by NICK BARKER also fits in seamlessly.
Wow man.. That brings back so many memories.. I love nuclear assault.. His voice sounds like it did 30+ yrs ago.. Amazing video..
This is really, really good! I listened to these guys non stop in my late teens!
Freaking Awesome!! Always liked these guys!!!
AMAZING POWERFULL ENERGY!!!!! The best Thrash Metal band of 80s!!!!
The first live show I ever attended was headlined by this band in a club called Streets. That was 33 years ago. I'm feeling so old.
Wow, I didnt know these guys were so stellar! Thanks for posting!
Man they still got it. Just awesome! Well done!
Insane drumming🤘
The tones here are incredible. Holy shit. Also, nice to have NA back
They still sound great 30 yrs later. Crazy!!

They earned their grey hair.🎸🤘🏽🍻
My Fev band..After Slayer
Holy shit. I saw these guys in the very early 90s at nottingham trent universtiy in the gym hall. Fucking mental night. Dan was in the student bar beforehand.
You can see the guys (N.A) are having an absolute blast. Its not every night a band gets to play for a crowd like this!
Me old mate Barks tearing it up on the kit..
Im impressed, voice is the same
They literaly kicking asses! They still good again since many years. By the way who is the drumer? He plays good a lot!
How does he sound the same after all these years?!!!!!!
Vocals the same as the original studio version over 30 years ago, impressive!
Fucking love the excessive overdrive on Dan's bass. God i love that man, he's the best bassist ever imo.
Best crow EVER
Long time fan of this band, i usually notice how tight the guitar (s) n bass are, but here, I salute the man mowing on the riser, this drummer is on point!
I didn't know Patton Oswalt could rock so hard!!
Lmao. Underrated comment
Dan Liker is a beast
Diese geniale Stimme ist 30 Jahre lang nicht gealtert. Super Spiellaune haben die Jungs 👏
Erik is so metal man!!! No shoes!!!!
Whata voice just the same one as many years ago!
Did Nick Barker eat the previous drummer?
Pfahahahahahaha no he would have gotten older, not fatter if he ate Glenn Evans hahahaha
That's hilarious 😂
@@КонстантинИванов-д1д HAHA! Nice!

AMAZING ASSAULT!!!!
No no no no...... We're is the Master Glenn Evans
He officially retired :( When I saw NA in 2016, they already had Nick Barker on drums
I heard Glenn talking about how he deliberately does rim shots to get a heavier sound out of the drums. Barker is so good he plays too clean almost haha
I think you can actually hear the difference on critical mass
my god fat guy on drums looks more faster than several drummers that i know,,,,,great
He isn't quite Glenn Evans though. That guy was crazy fast and hit HELLA hard.
Damn that's nick fucking barker who's a goddam machine
