2020 and I'm still jamming this fucking album. I remember seeing these guys. Back in 1987 at Blondie's in Detroit great fuclking show. They were way cool. And hung out, I got pictures somewhere.
Because Nuclear Assault came to the scene right as the second wave of thrash metal was starting. By this time (87-89) bands like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth were already around since 80-85. Especially in America, bands like Nuclear Assault came later alongside bands like Sacred Reich, Vio-Lence, Testament etc. These are considered 2nd wave thrash metal bands. It’s a whole thing…a more important question to add is why didn’t Overkill or Exodus make the big 4? They were competing with Megadeth? So why didn’t they. All of their first albums came out in 85. So I think it’s just because Megadeth has more popularity. You know, because of the whole Dave is ex Metallica member thing. Regardless: Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth are the “Big 4”. Just how it is.
John,s voice reminds me so much of Sam Kinison,s voice. What's crazy about it is every time i listen to nuclear assualt, i can see Sam Kinison singing this and head banging like crazy. 😂 I remember buying this alblum on cassette when it came out. One of the best thrash metal bands of all time. Great memories
Nuclear has a very different sound. I can't describe it. It's still fast and aggressive thrash metal but just sounds so different than other bands. They've never been my favorite partially because of that but they're awesome
Well, tbh, Frank Bello is a good bassist too, but Dan is truly insane if we're talking about composition and execution. I think Anthrax would've kept their initial speed, instead of changing to groovier riffs.
@@ricardoroque5210 I think they literally put the album up this year like a few months after we all noticed they didn't have it. I was shocked to find out TIDAL had it before Spotify. Great album.

How these guys didn't make it a 'big 5' I'll never know.

really makes you wonder how Anthrax would have turned out if they had not (stupidly) gotten rid of Dan Lilker
Well, tbh, Frank Bello is a good bassist too, but Dan is truly insane if we're talking about composition and execution. I think Anthrax would've kept their initial speed, instead of changing to groovier riffs.
@@brunoterrosa7465 yeah, no disrespect to Frank Bello, but Dan Lilker is one of the top songwriters in the thrash genre.
its good that they gotten rid of him we now have nuclear assault its like if metallica didnt kick dave we wouldnt have megadeth
