I'm 29 and I recently been checking out Invisalign, and I thought I was too old for wanting perfect teeth in my 30's. Anyway, this is very inspirational!
i got mine couple months ago and I am 28.
Turning 28 this year and starting mine in a few weeks!
I suggest getting an extra set of toothbrush, toothpaste, and a retainer box in your car or toiletry bag. I find it extremely inconvenient when I have to eat out and not have the tool to clean. Also, it might be wise to put on your new sets at night before bed that way you don’t feel the pain as much.
Lol don’t wait! In your 30s you will STILL want to look your best. Make the investment in yourself.
I m 40 and started my 18-24 month Invisalign treatment 14 weeks ago. I already see great changes. 30 is still pretty young, just go for it .
Hello I had my first appointment with my orthodontist today. I have a 8mm overjet. My doctor said that he could correct my overjet with invisalign without extracting Teeth. im 56 yrs old so he wants me to see a parodontist to make sure my bones are ok and gums. I want to know if its possible to correct the overjet without the extractions? and should I do braces instead, to get better results?
Do you work by removing premolars as you do with tooth shaving? What about an overbite that already has a missing premolar?
Do you look different from the profile with lips closed?
I am 46 with 12mm overjet that has bothered me my whole life. Never had braces. Finally doing it and I have a great orthodontist, who came up with a plan that includes two surgeries.
First the leforte 1 with palate expander because my palate is extremely narrow.
The orthodontist works with a surgeon for that and I saw that surgeon and felt pretty good about it.
It's a fairly major surgery and I decided to talk to a second surgeon. 2nd surgeon says absolutely not.....he would not perform this surgery on someone my age/periodontal history. Insufficient health benefit for the risk. I have been to periodontist, had 4 flapping surgeries over 5 years of time, with bone grafts and stable periodontal.
Is surgeon #2 right? Should I avoid this surgery? And if I do, can I still get a substantial improvement on 12mm overjet by extractions and braces instead?
Hollywood isn't calling any time soon, so I don't need perfection. And saving money is never a bad thing.
Am I overly scared now of the surgery?
Is surgeon #1 just glad to have my business or is surgeon #2 just overly cautious? How can I tell?
This stuff is why every single child who needs ortho should get it. It costs so little to get a great correction when you're a child compared to all the money and all the risk if you wait until you can afford it as an an adult.

@@dinilsabadu3974 it's been a year since I posted that and I found a surgeon I like and trust to do double jaw surgery. My teeth are no longer crooked so once the surgery positions my jaws correctly I will have a normal bite and a normal smile for the first time in my life
Great video. I’m on number 13 of 16 trays and I’m liking what I see. Invisalign has been good to me this far and WAYYY more comfortable than the traditional metal braces I used as a teen. Note to self: MUST WEAR RETAINERS!

@@PremierOrthodontics thanks! I finished the 16 trays and my ortho decided to have me do an additional 5 trays to close my overbite a little bit more. I just had my bumps removed today and they did a digital scan for my retainers.

This was very reassuring to me as a person with an overjet, overbite, cross bite and rotated incisor. I was worried the treatement would mess up my face but she looks great! Thanks doc!
I went with traditional braces because I had an overbite and cross bite (much more significant than hers, on one side the upper teeth completely came in to the inside of the lower teeth) and I felt like traditional braces gave me the best chance. I was supposed to have braces as a child but couldn't afford them. At 33 rubber bands worked! It feel like magic. My cross bite is corrected. I no longer get pain in my jaw and fewer headaches. I am very happy. It was worth the minor cosmetic inconvenience and I didn't need IPR. It take two years. I was ahead of schedule, I think due to rubber band compliance, but it balanced back out with COVID, so I ended at the predicted time.
Congrats! That’s awesome you ended up with a great result. Both braces and Invisalign work to move teeth, but having good cooperation with elastics is always helpful 👍
I advise you almost all day wear your retainer as much as possible . I had braces . i had removed my braces 3 years ago . I didn’t wear retainer after removed my braces then my teeth became horrible again .

I have an overbite like hers and it really makes me self cautious. Mild not too major. When I went to my dentist he told me he can't put braces on me because I don't have enough spacing in my teeth for them to be pulled back. He told me it's "not too bad" so I just let it go. I have been looking into Invisalign and I was just wondering how exactly do u make spacing in the teeth? Does the process hurt?
I went to two previous orthodontist and they said i would need to have four teeth pulled in order to make room for my teeth to move back to fix my overbite. The orthodontist i recently went to said i do not need to have teeth pulled and i can achieve a great smile without pulling anything and i can use Invisalign or ceramic braces. I say get a second option especially if you are not happy with your teeth. It's something I've been insecure for awhile and just waited but now I am definitely going to get it. I just don't know if i want Invisalign or ceramic braces..
@@mizcolombiana890 if you haven't had your wisdom teeth removed, consider doing it. Getting rid of those can provide the room to move your teeth with braces or Invisalign.

I’m getting teeth removed to improve reducing my overbite. Extractions this week with trays starting early November. I’ll keep you posted…
I was wondering the same. In this video the orthodontist states he “made spaces”. Did he somehow shave the teeth down?
Hi, I have a 5mm overview and was told that 4 toothed extractions would be required to fix but it looks like this if I'm honest, I don't understand why my treatment suggestion is different? Thank you.
Every case is different and there are lots of factors that determine whether extractions would work best.
I am 35 and my teeth were also similar like your patient's. In my case, dentist decided to extract to upper teeth to create space. I hope it ends well 🙂

according to Kriss ai. yes, overbite can affect breathing and speech by narrowing the airway, causing breathing difficulties, and leading to mouth breathing. It can also impact speech by causing articulation issues and altering tongue placement.

When you say you made spaces between teeth first, how did you do that? I also have an over bite and will be starting invisalign in a month.
It’s called IPR. They shave a small gap between certain teeth, to create space for teeth to move during the treatment. It’s a very thin gap, like a hair’s width :)
I have an overbite that caused gap spacing. If I close my teeth, I can get the tip of my tongue between to show. Would Invisalign work for me? I had braces, but didn’t wear my retainer as a kid. My teeth are generally straight, so mainly just need help with the bite.
I was having daily headaches that woke me up in the middle of the night from clenching my jaw and tmj issues from it, this probably went for 6 months before starting my invisialign treatment. By week 2 I kid you not the headaches stopped, the tmj issues disappeared. I can still feel myself clench at night (week 4 currently) but no headaches or tmj issues anymore, I can’t wait to see what my full 16 weeks do!🙌🏼

@@PremierOrthodontics I got my Invisalign stimulation after 14 months and is not happy. I live in the uk
I had braces for like 2 or 3 years and got them off last year, but my overbite is still pretty prominent. My teeth dont stick out when i close my mouth anymore but my dentist asked last appointment if I ever had braces 🥲 so it made me insecure all over again. I think I will ask my old ortho if invisiline will help.
Mine are really crooked over jet over but and one is chipped don’t talk to girls at all I never could and they say I cant get braces I don’t eat properaly my teeth are so far forward i chew with my gum
I'm overbite pretty much like this case, but don't want IPR. In general, can it be more easily done in the traditional wire braces if I don't want IPR? I guess it depends on the person, but am collecting information before I make the decision.

I would go get a second opinion. I have a deep overbite as well and 2 missing teeth on the bottom and I was eligible.
Great results!! I only had an overbite when I got my Invisalign and now I have a similar issue with my back molars (that wasn't there before) after my treatment. Do you know what could have caused this?? I wear my retainer religiously. I feel like it started happening during my treatment?

How many mm overbite do you consider normal? You did not say... 6mm overbite is a lot so what did you reduce it to?
2 mm overbite is what we consider ideal. We try our best to get everyone close to 2 mm when they receive orthodontic treatment

I want to push my teeth back further, I am currently going through Invisalign, However i have a full set of teeth ( thankfully) bottom and top but i still want it pushed back more, my teeth have a slight flare to them, how can this be corrected?
Update - i have more aligners assigned to me, speak to your orthodontist and communicate with them that you are not happy. Cant wait for the further treatment. Will probably consist of lots of IPR

I have over crowded teeth on the bottom. My two front top teeth look like the patient's. That makes me have an overbite. Would I need to have teeth extracted in order to get Invisalign?

As you saw in the video, Invisalign can be very effective in fixing overbites -- but braces also work. Getting a consultation with an orthodontist would be a great next step 👍

I never had braces, but I also have an overbite where all of my teeth fit together. If I align my front teeth there are gaps between my molars.

Most of the time it is recommended you receive Invisalign first to properly align the teeth prior to crowns.
There may be times that getting a crown first is necessary. Check with orthodontist for more specific recommendations for your teeth 👍
Would this for for overjet as well? I had braces as a teen… I am 31 now and my top teeth have shifted forward and I am afraid they will get worse. Starting to get self conscious about it

im in my late 50s and have a overbite iv seen orthodontics over a 25 year period and was always told the over bite was not that bad, i have sufferd all my life and can never smile because i dident like my smile/ overbite , people get nervouse around me and for years i hated them to, and even thought about hurting them if i saw them staring at me... someday ill get my overjet/bite fixed and will smile in front of people for the first time ever, and will be able to lay to rest the thoughts of death and destruction... what would you charge a patent who needed there overbite fixed
Do you find that a lot of people that have overjet correction done in their 30s end up having gum recession afterwards. My orthodontist said that there was a slight chance of this happening and it has scared me away from getting braces

I'm getting an implant on the front tooth. The adjacent tooth next to it (lateral incisor) is not straight its rotated a little inwards. i'd like to straighten that one as well as the one on the bite surface right below the (lateral incisor) its rotated a little outwards. Note that those are the only two i would like to straighten. Is it possible?

Hi I got invisible my dentist said I have a class 2 deep bite with a slight over bite. He told me that my bottom teeth will get push down so that my bite wouldn’t be that deep anymore. But he’s not fixing my slight overbite. He said that my teeth are turn outwards so correcting that would help the overbite. But would that fix it or should I let him know I want rubber bands to help my slight overbite?

I was told about 10 years ago that I would need 1 or 2 extractions to fix my top overjet. I really didn’t like the idea of extraction however.
It seems that this newer treatment is to remove some of the surface of each tooth. I’m wondering if I should go back for a consult?
You should. I was told I'd need to have some teeth removed as well, yet when I got Invisalign they didn't have to remove any teeth. I'm only on tray 5 though, so results still pending.

Loved your detail information regarding invisalign for adults. I have the same issue as your patient in the video as well as TMJD which is occurring due to malocclusion and am also on a oral orthotic from my Oralfacial DMD but he said am "not a candidate for braces but that maybe invisalign is a possibility but it make take over a year for me for treatment?" Btw, am in my 50s. Wondering if you treat any patients finishing their tx of an oral orthodic? Sadly, am live in Westchester New York, so wondering if you have a office with you exceptional knowledge near New York? I know doing video appointments with your office will be impossible?
would a treatment plan such as this one correct convex facial profile in an adult patient or disguise a upper jaw that protrudes
Invisalign treatment can move the teeth. The lips will follow the teeth and you may see some profile improvement. If you are hoping for a more pronounced profile improvement jaw surgery may be the better option where the actual jaws can be moved rather than just the teeth.
Hello, thanks for your video. Your treatment plan works amazingly!I have received orthodontic treatment to correct my over crowded teeth but my orthodontist suggested not to extract teeth. Now I got flared teeth after more than 2 years’ braces. It’s even hard for me to relax my mouth. Is it feasible to fix this by Invisalign? Thanks!
