Thank you so much for this video ... I went to three different dentists and the third one told me that for my bite I need surgery. I got really scared but you helped me a lot with your video. On Monday I will go to my new dentist for dental hygiene, after which I will be able to scan my teeth. I hope he will give me good news!!! I am hopeful! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!
Go to the real licensed orthodontist consultation, not to dentist. Dentists are not unusually familiar with malocclusions treatment, they are ordering the very first clincheck plan what is usually offered by AI. Dentists doing usually only very small teeth alignments.
It's so crazy how much technology has changed. I went to get Invisalign like 5 years ago and they told me I do not qualify for Invisalign. I recently went to another orthodontist and he said yes i qualify for my overbite. 🤯🤯🤯
I had a herbst appliance for a year and brackets for two years, finished about two years ago. My teeth have been fine until now, but I’m starting to notice them shift back. Mind you, I had a 13 mm overbite, so I’m not complaining in comparison to that, but I’m looking into Invisalign because I’m not particularly excited about the dietary restrictions and constant worrying over whether the brackets have come loose. My overbite is not that severe, but definitely more significant than when I finished my treatment, and I’m trying to get ahead before it becomes too severe. Also, I feel like I don’t bite the same on the right side compared to the left anymore. With what I’ve read and heard so far, Invisalign seems like an excellent option for me at this point.
If you only have mild overbite correction needed, then Invisalign should be a great option! For very large overbites (13 mm) then a herbst appliance will work best - but from the sounds of it you may be able to get the results you want with just Invisalign at this point.
Do you need upper wisdom teeth removal for to fix an overbite? Because my orthodontist said I need my upper wisdom teeth removed before I start Invisalign
Sometimes getting upper wisdom teeth out is helpful if the plan it to try and push the upper teeth back to reduce the overbite. If the upper wisdom teeth are there, this makes the process more difficult.
@@shrubinaprasain7653 Nope! ( Dr Smile here in Germany messed up my teeth with Anligners and am still paying them. Go to a real Orthodontist instead. ) Now wearing braces for almost a year. I got mine I didn’t have a severe overbite every dentist I’ve been to said I had a normal perfect overbite I just don’t want one at all yes I know it’s natural and I got my slingers few days ago and I believe they are correcting that because as I have them on my teeth top and bottom touch perfectly now I didn’t ask for it to be fixed I just had one bottom tooth that bothered me but hopefully that’s my slingers training my teeth to touch top and bottom perfectly
If your TMJ symptoms are due to your bite, then Invisalign can definitely help. There are some TMJ problems that are due to problems in the joint and not necessarily related to the teeth or bite. I would recommend getting an evaluation done by an orthodontist and they will be able to determine if Invisalign would be helpful to relieve your symptoms.
@@PremierOrthodontics I’m seeing a TMJ specialist next week as I was referred by an ENT. Following up with an orthodontist is a good idea as well. Thanks for replying
If you fix an overbite when you're an adult with any type your braces, is it only possible that you bring your upper jawline further back? Will it worsen physical appearance?
interestingly enough, I watched this video in hopes of having this exact question answered. I went to an ortho and was told that in adults with an overbite it's better to have the lower jaw pushed out than to have the upper jaw pushed back because upper jaw being pushed back can cause the appearance of face sagging and premature aging as it happens naturally as we age but I'm still questioning it.
Find a good sergon man I have the same problem you need dobule jaw surgery if the lower jaw is back that mean that the uper jaw is back if uper jaw was in the right place then your lower jaw will come with it
If your tmd is caused by your bite then correcting it with Invisalign will help. There are lots of different causes of tmj problems, and not all of them are due to your teeth. So depending on what is causing your tmj pain Invisalign may or may not be the right answer. It would be a good idea to be evaluated by a dentist who likes to treat tmj disorders to find out the cause of your issues and learn of Invisalign would be a good solution
Would I be able to be a candidate, I have the some of the front teeth that are crowded and a mild overbite, the overbite is just a couple teeth covering my bottom teeth. I’ve been wanting to figure out if I’m a candidate because I’ve been wanting Invisalign for a while now.
I am in my late 40s and have a traumatic overbute, although i am not biting on my gums (yet) I am super confused as to what to do as one orthodontist told that my only option is to have braces for 24 months and a another orthodontist told me I can have Invisalign. I am concerned that if i do Invisalign end up it wont be effective and have to have braces. But obviously i am very reluctant to have braces and all the inconvenience with them for two years too. Please could you advise?
My Invisalign is supposed to start in about 2 weeks, in my case I have protruding teeth, my only concern is that i don’t know if my top gums are going to recede when my top teeth are going to be pushed back gradually??
@@PremierOrthodontics thankyou I feel much better getting this done now, so gum recession can not be caused by Invisalign but with poor oral hygiene right?
I am 14 and I have over bite but the doctor hasn’t suggested me rubber bands in Invisalign and said me that the full procedure will complete in 5-6 months is he right..?

Great question! Invisalign is really good at fixing anterior crossbites, but it doesn't work quite as well with posterior crossbites. If you have a posterior crossbite sometimes you'll need to get an expander before starting the Invisalign process. If you aren't sure what those definition mean check out our video on crossbites where we explain the different types of crossbites and how each one is fixed. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/RL2MiacUunU/видео.html
Not really, Invisalign moved your teeth. If your teeth are moved dramatically it may change your lips just slightly, but it doesn’t change your jaw. Jaw surgery would be required for major facial changes
This will depend on your treatment and what is needed. Most of the time you will get somewhere between 15 - 60 trays and wear them 1 week each. You may end up needing multiple sets of trays during your treatment. Most of the time you can expect your treatment to last somewhere between 12-24 months. I know those are broad ranges, but it can really vary from one person to the next.
That's a great question to ask your doctor. Every office will be different, and there are times that there will be an additional charge to switch to Invisalign. Definitely ask your doctor and see what they say :)
I have overbites and big frontal teeth with no gaps .I tried invisalign but the pain was unbearable because my teeth don't have spaces to move into.I stopped using the invisalign and now my front teeth is more protruded😭. Was extraction of teeth needed in order to pull back the top for overbite?
does Invisalign pull the lower jaw forward or does it push the upper teeth back
