You start with air superiority and better military in all aspects. Sure, pulling off huge encirclements takes some skill but I don't understand how you can say it takes *so* much skill to do this? Its pretty straight forward.

Japan got a lot done in 39-41. Including production of the Zero in numbers. Imagine Gloster Gladiators against those early Japanese fighters. Imagine the Seafire. A spitfire brother, designed with Gull wings, tougher chassis and longer range than the Spitfire. Less maneuverability, better dive, same top speed. Imagine the attempt to invade Hong Kong with entire armies ready and waiting for their arrival, instead of depleted garrisons holding ground waiting for newly trained Indian troops to replace the main force sent to the Middle East and Africa. It would be a very different war.
