Good heavens, I'm glad I found this and listened. I was prepared to be sorely disappointed and click away.
Instead you guys managed to not just stay faithful to the instrumentation but did it better, IMO. I don't know what cassette-deck-through-stringed-tin-cans crap DEVO used in the studios back then but your broom closet recordings did it more than justice. Beautiful sounds.
And the vocals... The spectral range was clipped like a hedge and the mic was in pain - an insistent monotone machine squeezing the words into our ears under pressure. Perfect!
