Also didn't really like the song and you have to admit it's not an easy song to learn or sing..... Sorry but he was brilliant,,, it was just him having fun with it and come on! How could a Man singing that song not perform it that way? It's frigging Celine Dion.
And the ones that do pause during the second half end up missing the stomp, which I think is such an amazing moment in the song. But they miss it and don't react to it, so I was really hoping HVC would say something about it, but she didn't.
He does a great job, the best male version that I heard. Check the female version, same song by Alison Luff. She is in the character when she sings this song.
