I am so not a GM guy but your builds are so different that they are impossible not to like. I hope this car is a great success for you.
Unique / obscure and that why I ❤️ this channel!
@@GMCJay_lly Exactly.
It's crazy how much more visually appealling that engine looks with custom intake and the alternator down out of the way. The engine bay looks way better thatn factory, nice work!
Looks right at home!!??
You’re welcome! It was a pleasure working with you guys; you’re a great team! Awesome first start for sure!
Thanks again! Hope to see you again soon
I love how you are producing great solutions to issues making these swaps easier for people like me
that timing kit and the intake is the 2 things that's really going to pump up the marketability of the 4200 as a swap option. nice work Cal!
Calvin with all you guys got going on with this theft etc it is remarkable what you were able to do. Best of luck with everything. Hope your Dyno session works out well
Thanks! It did work out well. Actually already had it.
@@Calvin-Nelsono man .. can't weight to see the results bro
Any hint on some numbers? Did it break a 1000?
This build is awesome. These days, most builds are variants of the same stuff we’ve already seen. This is refreshing, new, and exciting. Great work! Keep at it!
Would have been so awesome if GM had done this (edit: a 4200!) themselves instead of that damn 3.6 V6. It's not like they didn't have the parts!
Blame the epa bullshit
Foreal
Roflmfao!!!! That is true!!!!
@@shadowopsairman1583 Environmental protection sucks!...or something.
@shadowopsairman1583 Blame corporate accountants, they wanted a motor that would fit in as many platforms as possible to save money.
I really like seeing your mom and pops show up in your videos. Really is a family supporting one another.
It would be pretty sweet to see Motion start marketing your 4200 products. Partnership style
Can you please do an episode on the Atlas Nationals for us?! I'm really wanting to see some of the four and five-cylinder Atlas builds, Aunt. There doesn't seem to be anything here on RUclips!
Very cool project! Love the new brackets that you're making available to the community!
Arctic should be sponsoring this 2010 Camaro and take it to SEMA!! I think it’s the Camaro of the year. It might not be done but when it is it will be a car to follow. I love it Calvin and hope you love it too!!
when is sema? calvin already fired it up
"Golf Course" round of applause for your Dad, you and all the other excellent people behind the scenes making it all come together and happen.
Best of luck. 😊👍
Can't believe you have to run a 2nd ECU just for the VVT. Get it on that Holley!
@michaelhughes7513 There obviously are better ECU's on the market that can manage all that is needed. Calvin mentioned one brand in this video. Think his main reason to even bother with Holley is it appeals more to users in USA.
@@thatdudeinorange5269 @michaelhughes7513; Calvin explained in some detail in previous posted videos the issue with the Holley ECU-ECM design issues which are not compatible with the Vortec VVT.
There are simple solutions with a different ECU-ECM which some of us have posted multiple times to Calvin but he and his father presumably refuse to either investigate, switch, and use other ECU-ECM which are actually superior to Holley as Fuel Tech [All series from FT-450, -550, -600, -700 are fully compatible, usable with all engine platforms with VVT]
All The Best.
im workin on my weed eaters carb and this guy is out starting the straight six camaro lmaoooooo hell yeah brother
Am I the only one who started hearing Barry Manilow in his head when Calvin said "COPO Camaro"?
I am so excited for this one
CONGRATS ON 50.000,
ONLY WAY TO GO FROM HERE IS UP BUD !
This car is gonna be bad ass! I like the orange, against tha yellow, then black....i really like the way it looks.
Cal, that thing needs a mooneyes sticker and disks.
Absolutely!
Always excited for more 4200 content
Calvin, it’s very unusual to have the belt tensioner at the highest tension location in the belt routing. All of the power for your accessories is actually going to loosen the belt tension as load increases.
That's an idler pulley. The tensioner is right off the bracket and not the highest point
You guys should be very proud, that is incredibly impressive to not only engineer your own system but also for it to work well.
That high five at 22:04 is awesome! With smiling ear to ear.
Always wanted to build more of a race ear with my father but never got to.
I think you earned some horn toots with this one. Very nicely done. Can't wait to see the initial drive footage!
I love vortec 4200 in-line 6 motors ! You really spread awareness about what these can do with some boost !!
Always amazing to see your innovation and invention. You guys are the masters of in house problem solving!!!!!!!!!
Love it Calvin, great work!
I love how clean the whole install is.
20 seconds in, LIKE! It’s so awesome to see you guys continuing on with the Studebaker theft being such a hindrance!
The best things that come from such a project are the parts to make better, more efficient builds, and eventually making them available to the public.
Slightly surprised you decided to stick to Holley after all the trouble you've mentioned to make everything work, including the twin standalone solution to get around system restrictions. But I'm also curious about the bypass w/ the second ECU, never saw something like that before.
Man give you and your dad a break you guys did it 😊
Can’t wait to see that puppy on the track!
The 08 and later crankshaft weaker than earlier because why, just mass support? Very Cool stuff, I pray you get your other car, truck and trailer back. This car sounds and looks great, fantastic job team!
ruclips.net/video/HPeyW3ZqW1A/видео.htmlsi=Eb0dsy3aMrX1z3A5. Cranks start at 10:50. Later cranks have less counterweights , makes more harmonics above about 7000 rpm
@@jasonschreiber6458 Thank you.
I'm really excited to see what she does at the track. Beautifully done guys. I'm still hoping the police find your other truck, car and trailer.
Awesome job Calvin!
You're down , but your spirit hasn't been crushed. You rock Calvin!
I love the alternator bracket, but I wonder if you're going to have issues with the serp belt being thrown off due to the tensioner being on the wrong side of the belt path.
Cool engine. Nice to see the path less traveled explored. I’ll be interested to see how she runs down the road.
Good to see you getting back on the horse (power).😊
This Camaro is just beautiful! You have done a amazing job with it, as well as the parts you have developed! Your helping a lot of people share in your passion!
Now put a darn alarm system on it same with your tow vehicles
Do those do any good??? Maybe along w/a tracking device at least?
Done
Need hiding air tags on all , kill switches , and a tracking system .... I cant talk as all i have is kill switches , but I have 3 diff ones 😅 , someday I forget and cant start ot lmao ... but I deff think atleast some hidden air tags or the equivalent with kill switched would be the been kneez.. but I'm sure he had already done all this now
@@mastercricket7626 What are air tags?
@@UberLummoxthey have them where they make plenty of noise like they used to, can disable starting the vehicle, alert your phone of vehicle tampering
American Autowire kicks ass. We use them in almost all our builds
Grateful for sharing both of you and your father’s wizardry!!👏 🤯 Excited to see what comes of the Camaro dyno session and the future of the Northstar as well. Breathing new life into these as you both have developed and are sharing such specialized knowledge around the Atlas. Also looking forward to seeing what comes of similarities between the Northstar platform and it’s future in your hands as well. As you both are doing outstandingly well with your time, development & re-engineering on the 4200 engine. Thank you for the enjoyable content and all the inspiration!! Best wishes to you all!!!
Calvin: At idle the sound reminded me of a cammed SBC... Once you got on it, Six cylinder symphony!
Man i clicked so dang fast. I think my finger has whiplash 😅 ... i have soooo much hope and expectatins for this as i would love to see another inline 6 doing damage besides just hearing either 2jz or rb26 .. not to say they are not insaine badazz engines , just i would love to see this 4.2l inline 6 get nasty and more support, cuz just imagine what this would be capable of with the same backing as the 2jz or rb line .... 🏎💯🔥💪🏽🤘🏽✌🏾 #BuiltNotBought... peace and love all keep it rad stay safe and build on... l8z all and keep having fun brotha.. ps im still prey that one day something will atleast pop up on your studa ... much love n respect yal .. ✌🏾
The 6 cylinder Camaro GM should have built
Not a V6. It's a straight-six.
I would honestly be troubled on what to buy if they had the 4200 instead of the high feature V6 in the camaro
@@JackDoyle-ti8zf Sorry, I wouldn't touch a GM product built after 2009, and very few from 2000-2009. There's a reason I drive a Toyota after 25+ years of brand loyalty. My dad was a staunch GM man, and now drives a Hyundai because his last GM vehicle was almost as bad as mine was.
@anonymousinc6330 99-06 GM trucks & SUV are beasts 400k miles with no major repairs all day if maintenance properly and still easy to work on
@anonymousinc6330 I know u know what I meant dang 🤦
This is badass! Love the new parts! Can't wait till you get them for sale. I have a feeling this thing is gonna fly!
Haha I was going to say copo cut the firewall too
Nice work, Calvin
I'm excited to see and hear the car in action at Sick Summer 24!
Fantastic work on the relocation kits. Can't wait to get mine from ya
Good job with trigger setup. Its important to get a lot of resolution on the trigger system. The older 2jz stuff only has a 12 tooth crank but upgrading to a 36-2 is easy and helps a lot. I'm working on a Barra setup right now, hopefully my startup goes as easy as yours lol
Congratulations on getting the Camaro fired up! It turned out fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing you at Sick summer.
Toot your own horn... You and your dad have really smacked this one! So good to see your dad out and about helping and celebrating the solid first start! Take your time going forward, this one looks like a long-term keeper for sure!!
Thanks. I would not be surprised if it stuck around. I also would not be surprised if someone threw stupid money in our face to try to buy it.
@@Calvin-Nelson Stupid money has some value 🙂
Awesome progress on the Camaro. Hope Sick Summer is successful.
Man it is SUPER COOL watchn u n ur DAD build these cars, that is GD SHIT MAN,, THXS for sharing!!!!!!!!!!
Good to see it running!
Hope that baby hits the 4 digit marks love the work
wow that bay came out amazing! wow im def getting that alternator relocation kit, you guys are killing it.
That engine bay is just too beautiful. Sounds angry.
Badass Calvin..🏁
I bought my 2004 Trailblazer 16 years ago because of the American made DOHC 275 hp inline 6. One of the few great engines GM made that was not a v8.
Awesome to see it guys, keep it coming!
I love the info already about the firewall !
Just saddens me at the sametime bc this just a glimpse into what you & ur family did to the lark over the years.
Awesome to see this.
Can't wait to see it on the track
The paint and metal work looks great. Nice job on the first fire, the wiring was on point🙌🏼.
Lets gooo! Keep the great vids coming!
Can't wait for the dyno run!
Sooo glad to see you in a positive manner. Can't wait to see that 6 banger throw it down.
WOW just WOW, I'm not a big fan of the Camaro body style but your project, the sum of the Parts, is extraordinary.....Like the Atlas 6 install alot. This car will break records!
You guys did great overall
The only things I’d be conserved about long term on the crank sensor if you use a supercharger or make a lot of hp the crank can flex to the point you lose crank signal.
I don’t see it being an issue now but I don’t know how strung these cranks are.
Super cool project Calvin 🤘🤘
Awesome job, cant wait to see it make some power!!
That thing looks and sounds awesome! Nice job!
Glad you have something ready to move on to. I know it won't replace the stude, but I am glad to follow along and see how this progresses!
All I can say, it's much better to see someone do a clean swap as opposed to a complete hack job. Great job
Fantastic work!
The car looks amazing! I can't wait to see more content with it.
I love it man! Sounds awesome.
HELL YEA BABY. I absolutely love seeing all of the work that you guys put into the cars and i am so excited to see it tear up the track.
Very cool build. It’s refreshing to see something other than a turbo LS
Excellent work!! Being a Camaro lover, this build is freaking awesome
Been a real nail biter waiting for this vid, awesome work!!
Looking forward to updates and races.
I'm relatively new to engines, discovered how awesome 6's are for balance and wanted to learn more, how i found your channel.
Big fan of your work!
Awesome Keep up the good work! I'm waiting for the next issue.
Killer job man! Outstanding.
I used an American Autowire kit in a 50 Chevy last year, I really liked how complete it was with ignition switch and everything.
Love the 58-2 crank trigger kit. Will be interested in it when it comes to market. Will make the switch to an E67 a possibility now.
@21:55 😈 That feeling, Hell yes!!
Awesome work!!
Looks good - nice accessory drive.Well done!
Well done 👍
Awesome build
She sounded GREAT!!!!!!
Love this build!
Absolutely beautiful !! Just take my money 😂 if I could afford it . Can’t wait to see it run 8’s??
That is an awesome build man I love it
Great job guys...love the car! 👍
This is so clean
