There's a much deeper conversation that needs to be had about this in the black community. In my experience, a lot of those 'corny' comments that I got made me want to do things that was not going to benefit me long term. Hung out with the wrong folks, stopped doing homework, and etc. Thankfully when my mother moved me and my siblings to a different neighborhood, I didn't feel pressure to be who I wanted to be. I made friends that also loved watching anime, playing yuh-gi-oh, going to tutoring, and we all did sports together. The thing about white people is that there is no pressure they have by their community to live up to an archetype. For black men, if you don't have a father in your life, it's easy to get trapped by the stereotype.

But then once all the "corny" black folks do something great we claim that for black people. People thought Jimi Hendrix was corny, people thought Prince was corny. Before Kaepernick was a living folk legend people thought he was corny because he's half white and was adopted by white parents. We're so busy judging everyone's "blackness" that we don't give people room to be a unique individual; further perpetuating mental health issues because we're worried if we step out of the "cultural boundaries" someone will think we corny. It's BS.

Corny in the Black and Brown community where I am from is basically being the leveled headed person that chooses to be intelligent and take the wise road then to be in the in crowd.
This is the same situation or peer pressure I faced in elementary school and high-school. My older siblings steered me away from it and fed me affirmations of empowerment of “self.
Yes it was a lonely road, but I have my group and we were like naw, we going to college, we going to trust God, get in shape, keep ourselves in shape, and value human beings regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and economical dependency or independency with Self Healing of the Mind/Body/Soul.
From my Life, the same people who called me corny back in the day are the same ones who reach out to me for advice on my Nutrition/Fitness Lifestyle, my eye for cultural Fashion, and Mental Health Healing. If it was not for my Pastor and my Church, I would have gave these people the middle, but I forgave, move way smarter, and keep healing.
Shout out to Michael B Jordan and his entire camp, bullies come out the shadows when you become great to market themselves as people who were for you, but they were never shooting with you in the gym. They only show up for the Playoffs and Championship Games.

Conry is a mannerism. For women, they see a corny guys as "lacking" a sexual edge. There's nothing wrong with him per say, he's just kind of meh, to them. So they go for guys who have that "draw" that pulls them in. But most of those guys aren't any different from the corny guy they'd curb, they just put up with him because they're attracted to them. It's as simple as that.

The comments I'm making today have absolutely nothing to do with this video. A few weeks ago Dave from De La Soul passed away so I started looking on line at my go to hip hop media places to see what they had to say about his death; (the how, the why, the when) to pay homage or to basically just acknowledge is passing. I looked at all of your media categories i.e., (Trending, Front Page News, Rumor Report) Hell, I even searched "Donkey of the day" and found nothing on the passing of who I, and many other people that go to your page consider, A Pioneer IN HIPHOP! For you to say that The Breakfast Club (TBC) represents "the pulse of the culture", you guys more that missed the ball on this one. CTG, you are all over the place now and I think that is dope. DJ Envy, Hell your name says it all, You're A Whole Fuckin DJ and you guys mentioned Nothing about not only the significance of his passing but what Dave (Plug 2) brought to the culture. TBC, the week that he passed had a whole lot of "topics" discussed that were far less interesting and even more, Far Less important to Black Entertainment, Black Music and most importantly, the Hip Hop Culture. We get to hear all the crazy Kayne shit, all the dumb donkey of the day shit, all the insignificant trending topics, but when a Hip Hop Icon passes, TBC totally sweeps it under the rug. It's sad that "Clicks" and "Likes" are more important than "the pulse of the culture". And notice I did not bring up the recent passing's of other hip hop artists because I did not want you to compare artists legacies. Just wanted to make you aware that you over looked A Legend in Plug 2 and the continued legacy of De La Soul! Much love to TBC. My condolences to Trugoy and Mase. RIP Dave. Two fingers...(peace)

This is why a lot of successful black men do not date black women in this day and age. Black women, especially black women who grew up in the hood, have that certain something to them that makes them hard to deal with and relate to if you not that type of nigga or grew up in That environment. I can't fault a nigga like Michael B Jordan for not fucking with sisters if the sisters he grew up around was clowning or separated themselves from him. It is what it is. Especially now that he tried to make it work with a sista and she shaded him. Me personally I only date black women, but if I'm keeping it real you have to sparse through a lot of different sistas to get to the right one.

Now y'all want to lump all black women together but if it was a dark skin woman only dark women would be outcast. He still is corny. Corny is a sensitive man like you and Michael b Jordan who has a problem with rejection.
