51 minutes of kylie talking about horror movies???
We watched Dark Harvest and actually really liked it. I can absolutely love hearing what Kylie has to say about movies, but also not agree on every one, too. Dark Harvest is getting added to our rotation of Halloween movies along with Trick ‘r Treat and Trick or Treat.
Dark Harvest fan here as well. The book is great too. Have my Trick or Treat DVD signed by Marc 'Ragman' Price.
Preaaach on insidious, the franchise has always focused on family dramas, I mean, look at Elise and her father in the 4th film.
Loool looking forward to watch Summoning Sylvia 🤣 I completely agree with the passenger , I feel like it should have been more disturbing, especially after that opening and omg if a literal monster creature destroying a city and k*liking humans is not a h0rror , then i don’t know what is it lmao . The new Godzilla is a h0rror
Love this ranking! So happy you put Godzilla minus one at the top! I’m predicting this year, you will convert to become a fan of the big G like how last year you finally converted to the evil dead franchise!!
A lot of the movies I love this past year like minus one, evil dead rise, and Saw X I didn’t even know were coming out due to hardly any marketing and everything else I heard was coming out was either bad or disappointing; sounds like last year hahaha
Here’s to hoping we get some more good horror this year! And btw, I like the lighting and shot that “editing Kylie” had lol it looks good! Thanks again dark mistress, can’t wait for the oscares!
The only thing I got out of watch The Outwaters was getting the joke on one of the top comments on letterbox "longest ad for the worlds worst flashlight," which in hindsight is pretty fucking funny
the letterboxd reviews were so good and the director even replied kindly to one of the worst ones I saw lol he's a good sport
Hello! Thanks for uploading the video at lunch time 😂😂 I remember that when I saw the FNAF movie I felt the same as you said, because I'm not a gamer and I could see over the fanservice. The bad thing is that I saw it with my little brother, who hardly sees horror, and I didn't want to ruin the experience for him because he was excited. Anyway, sometimes you have to watch bad movies for the love of your siblings 😅
The scene in Exorcist Believer where the girls got possessed in that tunnel thing in the woods was terrific. I loved the split second shots of the demon. Gave me chills. Rest of the movie was horrible.
Great video, agreed with basically everything you said!
so happy someone else is as taken with "the fall of the house of usher" as I am. I avoided horror before that show but now I can't stop exploring the genre because of it. it made my goth kid heart sit up and notice. Then I watched the original Hellraiser and now here I am. Thanks for sharing your ranking and looking forward to the Oscares!
Yes I completely agree that Sophie Thatcher is our new It Girl ❤️🔥 she's everything
Video dropped just in time for lunch break! Hell yeah
Oh yes! An almost hour long video from Kylie?! Nice! Always love your ranking and monthly recap videos as there are some shows and movies I've never heard of that you mention so really I just have more added to my recommended and my might not watch list. Appreciate the super long video Kylie! Also looking forward to the Oscares too!
you were right about Godzilla getting an Oscar win
You said the buddy cop aspect of pipes exorcist and that makes me want ryan gosling in a popes exorcist to reunite with crowe. The nice guys was a movie I wish had sequels
Godzilla minus one is the best Godzilla movie tbh. Omg you and I feel opposite about talk to me and when evil Lurks. I saw way too much hype about talk to me before watching it, slightly lowering my experience even tho I still loved it. But I heard nothing about when evil lurks and just knew the director and was blown away with how fun it is. They both made my top 10 list though. I loved evil dead rise too, and I think I enjoyed infinity pool more than you did. But also, I agree that totally killer is fun and I know a lot of people didn’t like it. I still need to check out a lot from this video. I wanna check out saw x just based on reviews but I’m squeamish with torture gore (skip saw, hostel, and the weird ones like tusk, and ofc martryrs). I’m not sure I can handle it ahhh! But I do wanna try one day to see what the hype is about
Just wanted to say on your comment about wanting kids as someone who focuses on helping children in need, there are hundreds of thousands of children in foster care. I think we as a society should be selfless and help kids in need
My intention was to catch up on work while this played in the background…in reality, I made it about 5 minutes into listening before I shut my laptop to focus on this. 😂 some of your commentary to other people’s commentary gave me at least 2-3 “burns” + “comebacks” to add to my rotation!!!
I love this video so much. Might I add though about five nights. While as a avid horror lover I agree with your viewpoints on it, but as a gamer myself I enjoyed it for what it was. It was also a wild time when five nights at Freddy's first game came out, it was more about the theories and lore than the game itself oddly enough.
I enjoyed this ranking. It was a great recap of 2023 horror movies. There are some movies on your list that I haven’t seen yet and am looking forward to watching them soon.
I enjoyed The Fall of the House of Usher, it didn’t blow me away, and I have a couple nip pics, but it was very well-made, and the whole cast gave great performances, definitely Mike Flanagan’s second best show behind The Haunting of Hill House… also, Henry Thomas really is a chameleon in each one of these shows he feels like a completely different person
I feel like rating things and ranking things based exactly on those ratings is asking for trouble...
I do a 7 star rating system, with 3-5 being more of a shared ideal average, and while 7's and 6's are pretty much guaranteed to be ahead, I'm more inclined to interchange the 3-5 section, 1's will almost never be higher than a 2, but I'll mix them in rare cases, too...I also always factor in the possibility that my mood at the time might have reflected a rating, or I might've felt more stingy or more lenient at a point...
I love these horror countdowns, so glad I found your channel, cheers!
The most impressive aspect of this video was its unbroken, seamless execution in a single take. Kudos to the RUclipsr for their exceptional performance.
Great rankings Kylie! Thought last year was a bit underwhelming compared to 2022 as well, here's hoping for an even better 2024!
Outwaters scared me more than any film this year and I think the confusion of what’s happening is what’s refreshing for me. Sometimes it’s nice to just experience something the characters are experiencing and know as little as they do. Time travel? Apocalypse? Hell? Who knows, I think it just really scared me and I still get scared when I think about certain scenes from it.
My first time seeing your channel and as a fellow horror fan i am happy to find another horror lover who enjoys scary flicks!
I freaking love your everything you watched in a month and ranking of every years horror movies! You are one of my favorite horror RUclipsrs and I have been subbed since 2021❤ ❤❤
Wow, was not expecting Godzilla Minus One to even be on this list let alone number one! As a huge Godzilla fan that just makes me love you more!
Amazing video my friend, already loving your content, Talk To Me would be my favorite horror film of the year ☺️❤️
There were several ones I missed this year, but here's my list:
17. Knock at the Cabin (2 stars - my letterboxd score)
16. Sick (2.5)
15. Insidious The Red Door (2.5)
14. Talk to Me (a lot lower on my list than others', loved the concept, didn't like the characters - 3 stars)
13. The Nun 2 (3)
12. The Blackening (3.5)
11. Evil Dead Rise (3.5)
10 Haunting in Venice (3.5)
9. When Evil Lurks (3.5)
8. Thanksgiving (3.5)
7. Last Voyage of the Demeter (3.5)
6. Renfield (3.5)
5. Scream VI (3.5)
4. The Pope's Exorcist (3.5)
3. The Boogeyman (4)
2. Cobweb (4)
1. Godzilla Minus One (5 shining stars)
Damm, i dont get why The Nun 2 is so high rated in some lists.
@@mrkos87 The Conjuring is my favorite horror franchise, so I probably give it a bit more slack than others. It's not all that high on my Conjuring franchise ranking.
@@jaredliebergen1179 Same here, i love the Cojuring too, but The Nun doesn't fit in this franchise i think.
Really good ranking Kylie!!me and you have the same taste in everything😭
maybe your plant would live if it wasnt in the corner and instead able to perform photosynthesis as plants do in the light hehe
Just finished watching the video and i expected talk to me to be number one. Anyway great video, sis!!!
Hell yeah, skinamarink!!!!
I’m getting the damn steelbook for it 36:51
Queen of darkness Kiley !I loved Yellowjackets my favorite horror show of last year hands down ! I need season 3 now
One of my most anticipated horror films of 2024 is Terrifier 3.
LOVE your #1 pick. My favorite film of the whole year.
I hated the fact that so much of demeters promotional material relies on the monster but it’s shown for like 10 of the 90 minutes
Awesome top pick Kylie! Godzilla started as horror, got a bit sillier but every once in a while goes back to horror. Even in the sillier movies Godzilla still has keloid scars etched into its skin. That's why Godzilla's skin looks so weird. It's scaring from the atomic blasts. It annoys me that in the Monsterverse films they got rid of that. Much smoother reptile skin. Americans will ALWAYS downplay the horror of nuclear weapons. That's why the original Godzilla film didn't come out here until 2003 or 2004. Seriously, that's the reason. A guest on the Dead Meat podcast mentioned that. It's an older episode too.
I’m not surprised by that at all!!
So happy to see people spread the Yellowjackets love lol.
Grabbed a couple more suggestions for movies to check out from here. I will for sure check out Birth / Rebirth.
I really need to check out Godzilla Minus One! Have you seen The Puppetman on Shudder? Not the best but entertaining 😘 Hope 2024 is treating you right so far, Kylie!🖤
So what your saying is that you became a believer in your audience about the new Exorcist movie
Good one lol

Talk about Godzilla Minus One coming in at the year of the and absolutely SLAYING all competition. The only movie that managed to beat it out of no. 1 of the year for me was Poor Things. I felt **CINEMA** being inflicted upon me in that theater
I can't believe more ppl aren't talking about 'birth/rebirth'. The movie ended and I was like "wtf" (in the best way)
I loved Beau is Afraid. Reminds me a lot of mother!
Mother was too much for me me too haha
less water on the snake/house plants? water when dry, skip watering if the soil is still moist & maybe closer to a window for an occasional light source.
I don’t think I have enough sunlight, I think I’m alright at watering. Don’t know if a snake plant in my room is meant to be
@@HauntedHippie i can never keep any plants alive myself either hahaha
Awesome video as always!!! Love you Kylie!!!!
Kylie, another great video. Keep up the great work.
Skinamarink was my #1, haha
when I first watched it I was enthralled and obsessed, but I was never expecting to go a whole year without seeing anything I loved more; I've watched it about 6 times, and each time I am entranced, lulled into a false sense of sleepy nostalgia, which makes these scares go so deep! the only thing I can compare it to is waking up in hospital drugged after surgery; a truly fresh swing for the fences and influential in all the ways I want
Huesera was amazing, too
Beautiful description wow
Ev!L Dead R!sE was easily my favorite horror release of 2023. This franchises replay value is through the fucking roof I've watched it like four times since it came out. And lol you mentioning Deadly Dilf makes me think of this flick on tubi my mom told me about called Killer Zaddy loll. An Kylie I might just be tweaking but your right eye looks light hazel brown & your left looks greyish green lol it's so gnarly. 🤟🏾🤟🏾
Killer zaddy 😭😭😭 yea I have sectoral heterochromia you’re not trippin 😂
I was looking forward to your ranking and you delivered! There are only a few that I haven't seen, but the one that I definitely need to watch this year is Godzilla Minus One, I've heard nothing but praise! Also, thank you for making me discover Summoning Sylvia, it's also one of my favorites of the year, I love me some gay humor/horror 👌🏳️🌈
When it comes to thanksgiving I can definitely separate the art from the artist. The actors did a great job and Jeff Rendell created a fun script 🙏🏽
I love you I mean I love these videos!
Five Nights At Freddy’s was definitely bad but I had fun with it lol. Matthew Lillard was a cool addition too.
Yellowjackets is soooooo good.
First time viewer! Godzilla Minus One was freaking amazing!
At 40:00 what is Eli Roth?
If somebody asks on what are my top 3 horror movies of 2023, I would like to pick "Scream VI", "Thanksgiving" and "Evil Dead Rise". Indeed a bloody good time, and it always will be.💯
Big Mike Flanagan fan and FOTHOU was OK, but enjoyed it the least from his work so far. A bit predictable, formulaic, and never really got the good Creeps from it. To me, it's a midnight mass at the top. Ymmv. great list. Amazing how you can discuss so much content in detail.
Hello, Kylie. New subscrbibber and follower, and so glad to have found your channel because you have a great vibe and personna that is worth seeing through.
I totally agree with your rankings for most of the major theatrical releases. Exorcist Believer, Last Voyage and, the worst of the batch , Five Nights at Freddy's, were disappointing. Freddy's was the worst for me because it was marketed from the trailer as something with Psychological gravitas, but the movie we got was a watered down kid movie that was safe for kids and young teens to enjoy because they fill theater seats.
The best movie I saw last year before I saw Godzilla Minus One was Sound of Freedom, but Godzilla Minus One was the Jaws of all Godzilla movies. I loved that the Japanese distributors brought the monster back to his roots, different from the American version, and I truly cared about the characters and their journey. I tell everyone how amazing this movie was even though it has subtitles because more people need to be reminded that movies can be great even when you don't see the monster that much.
Thanksgiving, for me, was a grateful gift to compensate for the horror movies of 2023 that disappointed me. I wish I could have seen your review for it before you pulled it because of conflicting views, so I might have to find your letterbox review to see what you thought.
Thank you for the gift of your love for horror, and can't wait to get to see more of who you are.
Charlie.
Welcome! Glad to have you
Once again so enjoyable. I’m not at all shocked by your number one. Godzilla minus one blew me away.
I liked Freddy’s and Megan just a little bit more than you. I like animatronics. Just a thing with me. 😉
I rented birth/rebirth to watch before your review with your dad. So looking forward to watching it and your review. You rated it pretty high. I’d like to see what I think of it. But usually I like what you like.
Overall yes my top films are your top films too. Talk to me I believe has legs. Well really a hand but you know what I mean. 🙂
I now have a Kylie recommendation list.
House of Usher, I might have missed it if it was not for you. Come to think of it, that’s why I watch Haunted Hippie. It was so good. I can’t wait to buy it on physical media.
Gee, all those films and you still kept it under a hour. A couple of just scares for you. 😜
Let’s see what 2024 has for us. 👍
Yay!! I hope we get Usher on physical media. I’m not sure it will happen
I love being horror fan
Also w captain gutt peter Dinklage Ice Age
I love M3GAN I thought It was awesome movie and the unrated version is better then the theatrical version.I can't wait to see the sequel to M3GAN.
Finally!
Pet Semetary Bloodlines defined: Wasted Opportunity.
❤Thanks so much for this❤
Kylie, I like your tattoo.
Best movie is fnaf & M3gan (don’t care all of them just 2 of them)
I like scream 5 way more than VI 😬
Just found you, instant fan.
Girl I have the opposite of a green thumb and even I can’t kill a snake plant 😂 that’s a talent
No one will ever doubt that I’m the antichrist again!
Edit Kylie coming in and saying that not wearing her glasses might be part of the problem only to immediately list Unseen is my kind of irony.
Bad eyesight girly struggles are so reeeeal
You should check out nothing but trouble. It's a 90's horror comedy with low budget and its so gay and camp
WHAT??!!! 🤯😭🙏 While drinking with water, my nose completely explode when you said your number 1!! 🦖💦
Shut up and take my Money!! 🤜💰
(My reaction felt like violet parr explode through her noise with water. 😭)
You should re-name your title ( And kinda “Let Down” for horror films 😢).
2023 was a rough year for Hollywood but we had some fantastic movies like Godzilla Minus One and The Iron Claw. I've also heard good things about Evil Dead Rise and Saw X. I didn't watch them sadly because I was busy fighting in the Waffle House Thunderdome.
Nah It's a Wonderful Knife is is a must avoid at all costs in my book ha ha. Justin Long is fun but that's it.
M3gan required a complete lack of knowledge to appreciate, i think. I didnt watch trailers or anything and saw it early enough that there was no real word of mouth …at least not that i was exposed to, since i dont have twitter or tiktok. I was laughing my whoooole butt off the entire runtime, cus i didnt know that the tone was gonna be…awesome? Idk on rewatch it was meh but i loved seeing it when i had 0 expectations. Be nice - Im not a teenage girl!! …..anyway, let me tell you why barbie was my favorite movie of the year …… *deep breath* ..
Cobweb was really fantastic, but definitely flopped the ending.
Leave the 🌿 😅
Move the leaf...TO THE WINDOW. 😏
I don't have enough sunlight for it here :/

Vampire- Dusk Till Dawn
Frankenstein- De Niro's
Witch- Both Suspirias
Werewolf-Silver Bullet
Zombie-Return, Day and remake Dawn
Ghost- Ghost Story
Haunted House- House on Haunted Hill (90s)
Boogieman- Both Candyman's
I watched a lot of films last year but I recently realized I only watched 4 films released in 2023 (Scream 6, Coc@!ne Bear, Knock at the Cabin, Air).. kinda hated them all except for Air which was solid.. so these vids are nice because there's always a few that sound interesting that I've never heard of..
I thought M3gan was 2022 but I see it was released theatrically in Jan 2023.. either way I thought it was okay, not good but not horrible.. it wasn't made for me but I didn't hate it, it made me laugh a few times..
I fooled myself into thinking Scream 6 was better than Scream 5, but it's really not IMHO.. both are shit shows IMO, but Scream 6 being afraid to kill any characters is a decision by the powers that be that will always peeve me, regardless if it's a film franchise or a TV show.. watching these characters get brutally stabbed and walking it off like a sprained ankle is insulting lmao.. at least Scream 5 had Neve and Dewey..
The showrunners of Yellowjackets said after Season 1 that they had a story arc planned to span 5 seasons, there's no guarantees that it even makes it that far, but Season 2 was kind of a sophomore slump as far as where the story is going.. the younger storyline was fine but adult storyline was a hot mess lol.. but the acting was phenomenal all around.. they need bounce back and get the story back on the tracks, but I'm still all in on the show.. it has its own unique identity, it just needs to know what it really wants to be.. dope ass soundtrack too!
Looking incredible in this video ❤🌹🔥 Talented and beautiful
Love your knowledge of horror. But man we do not agree on alot of shit lol oh well.
Are you doing the Oscares 2023?
Yes!
@@HauntedHippie always a highlight for me I do enjoy them!! New category suggestion “best scream” male or female?
Allllllllrrriiighhht
Goddess. That’s all I have to say
I will say production value shouldn't really be considered for your ranking and if so it should have a negative affect. If they have a better production and still managed to be worse than a movie that couldn't afford better production it should be scorned me not forgiven
I like good mis-en-scene, it still has value. In general; better camera = better looking. Let’s not pretend aesthetics don’t matter.
@HauntedHippie if it is just a movie with more money in it then I don't think it should be treated better, but if it has a well shot scene that helps it standout in an otherwise mediocre movie then yes
what a babe! 😍
Hail Satan

I have 2 rules, I see a new haunted hippie vid.
I CLICK play.. super simple 🔮🔪⚰️🤟🏽
I rewatched House of Usher 6x now. Totally blew everything else I saw out of the water. Camille's episode and Froderick's episode were probably apex for me. I finally watched Evil Dead Rise a few weeks ago, pretty much that was how I found your channel last year sometime, and it was really enjoyable. Not as terrifying as the 2013 one, but I didn't hate it. I think a theatre experience would have been better of course, but it was worth my time.
I have to check out Godzilla Minus One. I’ve heard it’s a must watch and I love the original Godzilla movies. I’m adding that to my list to watch when it hits VOD or Blu-ray. Idk sense I haven’t seen that one Saltburn made my number one.
Hope your having a great New Year
You definitely need to see it!
Still lolling at how the Winnie the Pooh people had a tantrum about you and Cody's critique 😂.
