I’m an old woman, but I have watched how much this country has turned on its own people. And the people have been so blinded. I live in Texas and fear what is going on at the border. It hurts my heart to think about all the men and women who gave their lives for country and our great Constitution! I know there will come a time when things will get worse, I pray not. And I know if push comes to shove, the powers will force civil war. But I know Christ and know the war is already won. In the mean time, I thank you for your service, I pray we end up on the same side. I pray for those that just follow orders and do not have the courage to protect our country from the evil ones. GOD bless America! Stay safe and protect your families.

I actually knew Dave in between when he got discharged from Rangers prior to reenlistment. During the time where he decided to March from Bragg to DC protesting the Black Beret to be “authorized” for all army personnel. I had been to his townhome in NoVA.
Glad to see his story pop up. From time to time I wondered what happened to him. He always seemed to be in search of a higher calling or higher mission. He went “back in” post 9/11, I went on to become a medic and contractor🤷‍♂️.
Just wanted to shout out to Dave and say “hi” as well as pass on regards from a Bill W.

That story about an operator shooting an insane man in the midst of committing infanticide on a baby girl, and that operator getting into trouble really tells anyone who has not served just how bureaucratic is the military.
The operator should have been lauded for saving an innocent life, not chastised for killing a monster.

Yea no doubt, but what created them? They weren't born evil and radical.
If you're at your wedding, and unbeknownst to you, one of the guests is a HVT, at least they are according to the US gov, and it's decided that the collateral damage is acceptable, so your wedding gets blown up, but you survive.
How radical and barbaric do you become in your pursuit of vengeance?
Edit - it's ok to praise our very best warriors, while still recognizing that US foreign policy, particularly as it concerns policy that is clearly in service to Israel, created much of the radical/barbaric elements of Islam. Then you have US Intel agencies like the C I A building up, training and arming the very same terror outfits that our operators are then fighting. It's madness. How about we get Delta and Dev to the southern border. We need them there more than any other place on Earth considering we are being invaded by foreign military aged men from numerous countries.

Seriously? I cant believe that question was even asked. It doesnt feel good to kill anyone. Over time the body just goes numb to it. I served 2 tours in Afghanistan and 3 in Iraq. The task I was given required my team to be imbedded with the police or military depending on the country. In those tours there were fire fights. In those fights people died. By the end of my final tour I literally felt nothing. But it had to be that way. No remorse, no happiness, not glad, not sad. The only feeling was, guess this wasnt my time. I cant count the number of times I have been asked by civilians and some military personnel prior to retirement, " Did you kill anyone." All I did was look at them and walk away. Combat isnt glamorous. Its ugly. Its harsh. Its very chaotic. At the end of the day you clean weapons, refit, mission debrief, mission brief the next day and start all over. Truthfully my feelings would not have been hurt had I not had to pull the trigger. When its all said and done you're changed forever. You lose a part of your soul. I remember one time something happened and my ex wife screamed at me, " get over it ." She had no idea how I wish I could have. If you havent been there then you cant relate. The military is good at getting you in without a plan to get you out. They are good at teaching you how to turn it on but not how to turn it off. As I stated, Im retired. I dont regret my time in the military. I actually miss it. Other vets may understand, I felt more at home there doing what I did than I do here. I live alone with my dog out in the country and I prefer it that way. I tried a civilian job but that lasted about as long as an excuse. For me a loving relationship is out. I tried that and I dont have great dinner stories to tell. My life is what it is and I accept that. I have been asked numerous times if I were afraid od dying over there? Truthfully I didnt think about it. One day after getting home from a deployment, I realized that Im not afraid of dying, I think Im afraid of living. Don't get me wrong. I'm no badass CAG, S. F, Seal, MARSOC, P. J, TacP or Ranger. I was a soldier following orders and trying to take care of my team. To all of my brothers and sisters that went outside the wire to do an impossible job, always watch your six. It's damn sure no one here at home will.

Powerful comment, thank you for sharing. I am not a vet, but probably your age, I live the same as you, it’s a cruel world we live in, I just want peace from here. I had a close friend steal a ton of money from me, Chinese corruption, law enforcement didn’t care, until the fbi called for my records, but they said “statue of limits” expired for me. Lost all faith.
Know, many of us were raised by Vietnam vets, and we know your sacrifice and struggle. At least it’s revealed the truth, so many live a fake life.

On one of his deployments he lost a friend in the same vehicle he was in. On another deployment he had to pull the trigger on some bad people who were trying to do him and his unit harm. The kid was awarded a Bronze Star with a V device for that action. Back stateside he was diagnosed with TBI , but I could tell it ran deeper than that. He was medically discharged and within two years he was gone. His demons were stronger than he was and I powerless to help. My respect to all who made the trip. SEMPER FI

As a kid growing up in the ‘70’s (8-12 yo) I would ask vets from ‘Nam, Korea, WW2, what they did, what was war like, did they ever kill anybody,, down to the last man they NEVER would talk about anything war. They would ALWAYS say “it doesn’t matter, I don’t want to talk about it”, along those lines. Since the Iraq invasion all we hear is these vets talking, talking, and still talking. Starting podcast just so they can talk. What the hell happened to men and why do we now think it’s ok to glorify battles and justify all of this atrocity? The men I knew growing up served their country honorably, came home, got married and went to work 60+ hours a week and never said more than a few words a day to anybody. So please someone do their dissertation on this and publish it, bc it’s a real thing.

10:07 That's a biproduct of a world that uses social media as a barometer of public opinion and it's that way about most topics, not just this one. There's only certain types of people who think their voices are so important that they need to be heard and go to what's become a digital echo chamber to voice it. The rest of the people either avoid getting involved in those discussions because they don't want to end up in an argument and don't want to waste their time and then there's many who aren't even on social media at all. Because of what I just laid out, the opinions of "those people" which are always similar end up being "the general consensus" because apparently opinions only count when they're typed out and posted on Twitter these days...

Oh, I think you know what he means. Leftist radicals, both the organizers and their followers. The New Left/SDS/old antiwar activists/Black Panthers who were active way back in the 1960s-1970s, who wanted to "bring down America". Years afterward, they've gone into politics, journalism, education, positioning themselves as influencers of media and popular culture. The more recent woke types-- BLM, antifa, etc.-- who attack the culture, tear down monuments, teach revisionist history. The radical leftist funders of all these groups.

It's so hard to listen to his stories.
Wars are never nice and clean, and split second decisions mean life or death for friend or foe.
I was fortunate to have been a forward observe for the USAF in Vietnam, during the closing years of the conflict.
I was rarely called on to do direct contact, with the enemy.
I did get to watch as hundreds of men and women and their supply trucks were shot to pieces, and burned to a crisp.
Several times we had to do an after action report, where we had to get close enough to count the dead, and access the level of destruction of vehicles and supplies.
The stench of burned flesh, and the scent of napalm would make us puke our guts out.
We soon learned not to eat before going in for a close inspection.
I still awaken from a sound sleep with that smell in my nose.
I have no dreams, so I never know how this reaction occurs.
It doesn't happen very often, but some times on a beautiful warm spring day, while riding my motorcycle, I smell that smell, and at first I don't recognize it, but then it hits me, and sometimes I vomit on myself, or worse yet, get the dry heaves, barely getting to the side of the road safely.
50 years later, I can still smell that smell.
    Tim

Watched a reality tv show based on a James Bond vibe.
Couples gather clues and complete “missions”.
One couple is Muslim. There mission was to retrieve a suitcase from the extended boom of a very tall construction crane, arcing over a gorge. Very scary.
The man immediately declares he is scared of heights, and makes his short chubby wife complete the task, all while she is still wearing her religious pajama suit. It was obvious she feared her husband more than climbing out onto a crane boom suspended over a gorge on a windy day.
The dude had absolutely no shame.
    Just saying.

Here's a thought, how about we get Cag and Dev down to the southern border. There is a large army of military aged men who have invaded this country the last few years and millions more on the way in order to get here before Jan 2025.
We need all our tier 1 and 2 soldiers here to protect the American people from the foreign invasion. Time is running short for the republic if we the people don't stand up NOW. I hope our soldiers have our back.
Based on how police nationahide enforced unconstitutional orders regularly during covid, I'm worried our soldiers, retired and active, won't remember the oaths they all took.
