I've done Pilates b4 but you explain precisely how to do these moves so well that I felt it better then I ever have. Do you have any more videos? I hope so!! Thanx 4 an excellent leg toning workout!!
The hand supporting the head in this position is a VERY bad idea, because it puts a lot of pressure on the cervical vertebra. Head and back must be in perfect line, which is easily done with resting your head either on your shoulder or on a little pillow under your head.
Joseph Pilates would be riding you for poor form; externally rotating the foot allows the quadriceps (and thus hip flexors) to do the work of lifting the leg- not what this series is intended to work. Additionally, the placement of weights so close to the hip during the later movements shows a basic misunderstanding of physics and the effect on the largest muscle group in the body. Not only are these not part of the leg series, in fact t 9:56, the hip is bearing none of the weight, the arm is holding them in place. Any exercise is better than no exercise, and these movements can absolutely be beneficial to those who practice them, but even if well-intentioned, these are not the true movements that Pilates devised.
This is my favourite leg workout. Never get sick of it. I like that you can lie the whole time. A good workout for lazy people.
That's great! These leg exercises seem to be really very effective for toning thighs. Thanks for sharing.
