I've been using vegas for 8 years now, and I've considered switching for a while, but been terrified by experiences of trying it before and its seeming complexity. You've sorta taken that fear away. Thank you good sir. It's gonna be really really hard to switch (because I've used it for so long that I've learned all its quirks such as exactly when it crashes) but it's gonna be great to not have to edit a 15 minute video for months because of constant choppiness and crashing
It doesn't matter if you're "professional" or not as long as you manage to transmit the message you had in mind. This video was really convivial and there almost was a "oh hey feels like the guy doing the voiceover could be fun to hang out with" kinda feel, plus you've been pretty successful in teaching premiere's basics. I was thinking of switching from vegas to premiere and I been thinking about it for quite some time but never really had the guts for it, I guess I was scared I wouldn't learn as quickly, you just took that fear away. Goodjob my dude, this video was great, and I would love for you to pull out some more adobe premiere tutorials!
Can you please do a video of how to set the same Vegas shortcuts in Adobe Pro? I am so customized to it, it is hard to learn new shortcuts in Adobe. Big thanks anyway.
I'll be honest, I haven't used Vegas in many years... since Vegas 2010. It's possible there's a plugin someone made for that, but in all honesty if you're going to learn Premiere, it's easier in the long run to learn the new shortcuts!
I can't wait to stop using vegas pro. I feel like I waste more more time using it (Because of horrible lag, stupid limitations like max 4x timelapse, not convenient when your content is literally mostly timelapses, etc)
You know I agree with you, it's been happening to me as well horizon. I've seen your comments on the 4x timelapse thing, and it actually pisses me off its so limited.
@@David-hh8on yeah, been quite easy actually. Alot of functions transfer quite easily. Only issues I have are with how fades aren't as easy as in vegas pro, and how you can't overlap clips to fade, but definitely worth it imo
@@The_Horizon idk man i also feel like switching, i used it for a day and fell in love but i dont think i need any "improvements" since i am a content editor and those limitations don't really bother me
is there a fade slider? the one you can slide at the start and end of a clip for both audio and video? (i commented this last night, it doesnt seem to appear here today...)
is the upper bar (assembly, editing etc) now thrown into the right corner as workspaces? seems to take a bit of time to load the different workspaces, is this normal? the transition between workspaces seemed seamless in your video
Could be due to software changes, I personally don’t edit much video anymore since I’ve transitioned into UX. However I wouldn’t be surprised if Adobe made things more complicated in the name of innovation…
I'm uncertain of making the switch to premier. Is it worth it? Right now I have a pirated copy of vegas but I'm thinking of paying for the creative cloud apps (I'm a student)
hey bro - question not exactly relevant to your video but I thought you might know. I am using OFX Boris FX Sapphire Plug-ins on vegas, and want to switch to Premiere. Will I be able to use my plugins? I tried searching the Boris FX site but couldn't really make sense of it. Thanks.
Hmmm I’m not too familiar with that particular plug-in to be honest. I know that there were some that I used in Vegas that were also offered for Premiere, but you can’t use the same plugin files if that makes sense. The company would have to offer a premiere-compatible plugin.
Well that was...informative. It's just so much to cram into my head, but I really hope I can rember all of tNice tutorials. I have a bunch of ideas for

Hey all - still somewhat active and I try to reply here and there. Glad this video keeps hitting the algorithm, and hope it helps.

real helpful, thx man. was definitely tentative about switching after using vegas for 7 years but this makes it less intimidating for sure
Glad it's still relevant years later!
If you decide to continue with this channel, I like the idea of helping people coming from Vegas. I've subbed, just in case :)

Thank you so much for making this video, had to upgrade to Premiere

Yes there is. “Constant Gain” effect. For fading to black there is an effect for that. For crossing clips over each other you can use cross dissolve.
Great Vid!
Thanks homie you the best
this is going to be really helpful lol
thank you so much
Every time you said you were unprofessional it cracked me up🤣
Absolutely loved it man! Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge!:)
How did you get the effects chain on the left side of the setuper?

im doing the switch rn. fucking vegas always glitching the fuck out
@Zizuke I couldn't do the switch too complicated for no reason but im still mad at sony vegas
