Martina, I would love to say every RUclips video I have watched I fall in love with your painting skills, you are incredibly talented. My daughter wants to copy your art work. She looks up to you as an artist and creator. Although it has cost me a fortune for art supplies for her, she very much wants to follow in your footsteps
I've got a little daughter who looks up to Martina, too! I love watching Nerdforge with her and seeing the creativity-gears start to turn in her head! Got her the Nerdforge art book for her birthday! ❤️
Artists often struggle with their art, frustration because they didn't do exactly what they had in mind, they're "not good enough"... I sincerly wish her to get over it and be able to love what she does one day, because maybe she isn't in such mindset today (maybe she's young idk), but it's probable she'll be Art's fun, and it's amazing you support her in this passion, because not every parent would Now, we all have a lot of hours of patient and dedicated work to do, to get half this good. x)
Just want to take a second to appreciate the absolutely STELLAR paint job on those joy cons!! I was skeptical at first when seeing the initial blue spray paint, but WOW the end result is absolutely gobsmacking, it looks like actual real joy cons straight from the factory!! Like the actual plastic is coloured that way!! Amazing job and beautiful result!! And of course the entire ensemble is magnificent, but I did wanna give some attention to those beautiful joy cons!
Hey Martina! Seamstress here, the reason the banner kept getting stuck and not moving was because the dogs (little metal teeth that move the fabric along) are behind your needle and weren't catching the fabric. My recommendation is to start sewing at the opening of these kinds of projects and turning at those corners rather than starting with them. Or you can always place the project on some thin transfer paper and let the dogs grab those to move it along, then rip the paper out afterwards (this might mess with some of the stitches, but can make it easier to start projects at the corners). Also a good way to get cleaner lines in sewing is to iron the project flat before sewing.
it would be even easier to put another piece of fabric, which is exactly as high under the foot. So that the foot is not crooked and it does not block.
The level of talent, mixed with thousands of hours of experience, blows me away everytime. You're incredible and we all love your work! Keep it up! (More Hansi too!!)
4:30 yeah, I get it. I myself am a long-haired male, and I am addicted to using my Dremel. That thing kicks up all kinds of shavings, and I have to stop and remember how blanketed in plastic snow, epoxy putty dust, acrylic/lexan chunks (ow, those're hot, sometimes!) I'm subjected to from getting literally immersed in projects. I have an apron my older sister gave me, but I always forget it when I start, most often, because I sit at my workbench not always intending to continue something, and then I get into about three at a time! Addicted. To. My. Dremel, I tell you!!
This channel has honestly been one of my biggest inspirations in recent memory and is constantly pushing me to explore new boundaries in my life and my journey as a creator, and I'm 100% certain that it has done the same for thousands of others. Thank you for being a great creator and a greater inspiration.
It’s so inspiring watching your channel to grow, from binding books, costumes, diorama to neon pc, dwarven kingdom ps5. Now that you reach 2mil! So proud of you guys and congratulations🥰
The complete version its just sublime, every time on the video that you said that something “looks good but it’s not done” i thought that it looked good at that specific instant, and i said to myself “but if she is saying that its not done yet how would the finished version of that will look” and i never imagine that it will look as good as it look at the end of the video. Congratulations Martina, your art is incredible
Martina painting a mini expertly as a "by the way, this needs paint too" is the gift we all didn't know we needed so much! I hope some day we get to see a D&D party or a Warhammer 40k diorama with minis!
I agree, this is my favorite of the three. That painting is just perfect. Such beautiful art, the castle is perfection, Link is perfection - everything is a home run. This is peak art.
For the banners, first iron your seams flat. Always. Then, iron the banner flat. Finally, start at the other end and sew down to the point. Ironing is the main thing that will help, though. Always iron, it makes a huge difference and really is half the work of any sewing project.
One thing I really admire about your paint work is your 'dry brushing' technique and skill. Many years ago I did ceramics and did a lot of dry brushing (I hated glaze) and it is definitely a skill. One difference in your technique is I used a kitchen tile to dry my paint out, paint it on lightly until it dried and then picked up the dry paint.
Amazing project as always. You never miss to put the 200% of your effort in every single project, without leaving any room for a hypothetical "she could have done more", and it's incredibly rare to see this on the internet ❤️ Little tip for the banners: iron the seams to make them sit nice and flat. I guess you didn't do it because you had the iron wire inside, but then maybe you can leave the straight short side open, then insert the iron wire and then sew another seam next to the wire, so that you have a sort of channel for the wire to stay into (similar to how boning is inserted in corsets). Anyway you did a great job ;)
I’m always so blown away by the talent between you both! I know many artists are worried about AI art right now, but truly no AI can replace natural (and cultivated) talent, never ever! I love that you have this amazing community supporting you, with watches and Patreon, it gives me hope in humanity! Just wanted to basically tell you that you’re awesome and thank your fans for supporting you so you can keep going and making amazing art and content for yourself and us! ❤❤❤
Me at home while Martina despairs at the tube-flags and tries to sew them flat: PRESS IT! IRON IT, YOU MONSTER! Honestly though, it looks very nice!! I loved the painting the most, it's so beautiful
As always you take things to the next level. It looks great !!! When sewing stuff like your little banners, you can always iron the fabric once you sew it and it will lay flat, if it doesn't you can use spray starch :) Love ya'll and please keep doing all these incredible projects !!!
I kept thinking why she didn't iron the banners after turning them. She really created more work for herself by topstiching them. They turned out great though 😊
I was literally just coming down here to advise that! Doll customising videos are a hell of an asset in learning how to sew on a tiny scale Alternatively, using iron-on interfacing or wondawebbing would work to sort of glue the layers together
Wow, I am so impressed by your project to transform a Nintendo Switch into a Zelda themed console. Your attention to detail and creativity is truly impressive, and I love the use of golden acrylics and XPS foam to create a unique and professional finish. The idea of using a painting to create the illusion of looking out over an open landscape is innovative and adds an extra layer of depth to the finished product. I also appreciate the time and effort you put into sharing your process with us through this video. It's always inspiring to see other woodworkers and creators in action, and I'm sure many people will be able to learn and take inspiration from your work. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your projects in the future.
Absolutely amazing and I got a good chuckle out her saying she promised this would be the last one then in the very next sentence stating this is her favorite one 'so far'! I can't wait for what is next.
What I liked to watch the most is that you advertised your own products finally! Yay! Awesome idea with painting bricks. Absolutely brilliant idea to put metallic vire there for various combinations.
Oh I love your work of art! It's impossible for me to pick a favourite as all these projects were unique in their different ways. Your impressive imagination turned a heap of plastic trash into a beautiful steampunk vision, and that alone makes that project stand out. Then dwarven kingdom came, and it's so stylish! And, yeah, all the flames! Then this tiny beauty, and it's soooo tiny art and sooo masterfull and looks great altogether and I like the theme. So, they all shine in different ways, and for that I'm always awed by you and what u guys do at Nerdforge. =)
About painting the Link mini: My dad has a lot of miniatures, and to paint them he set up a magnifying glass like you'd get at the craft store or hardware store (basic size lens, about a hand's width across), using a coat hangar to make a stand for it. Then when he needed to see the small details he could hold the mini under that for a good look.
I loved this video, I mean, I love all of them, but especially this one! I think it was because you explained some terms that I didn’t understand, dry brushing especially, and that thing with the hot glue fire? That was really cool and feels like something I could do! And watching you struggle with the sewing stuff? I think I liked that because it showed that you don’t know everything and are still learning stuff too, and I appreciate that! It is kinda late, and I ramble when I’m tired, but I mean all of it! Thank you for all of your content and hard work, and I hope that you have a very good Christmas!
I can’t believe I’ve discovered this channel so late. It’s a gem. Maybe I can consider myself lucky because I can watch all the videos in your channel for the first time. :)
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. All of your creations are amazing, but I really liked this one for its approach-ability, especially compared to some of your epic masterpieces! I could see making something like it myself, even if it wouldn't look nearly as nice. 👍
Absolutely love your work. Currently sitting here with my daughter watching this video. To have the imagination that you have, along with your talent and artistry is truly awesome. Looking forward to your next creation
Next time you sew there is something called a "garage" basically a little piece of scrap fabric that you sew on to first before you start your project. This piece of fabric helps from the thread being pulled out of the needle when you start. It also helps so that if the project isn't going forward under the foot you can lower the needle down into your project to get it started and them give a little pul on the garage and it forces the project to go forward in the machine if it is getting stuck in the beginning! 🙌 game changer!
Holy smokes this video was everything! Every little second was used to build a relationship between the viewer, the project and well nerdforge lol..even the nail detail. It was a very good run.
As an occasional artist, I have to say: WOW! The way you paint, your sky, your clouds ... I am utterly and completely gobsmacked! You are a marvellous artist!
OMG this castle is looking amazing 👏 Although I have to admit as a person who is sewing their own clothing, it did kill me a bit when you made the banners. They will look like that when you turn them inside-out, but that's what ironing things are for. Use an iron to press them flat! You might have to roll the edges between your fingers before ironing them, but it's much better than trying to force them flat with another seam
Love watching these videos! I recently discovered you and realized I am not alone in being a crafter of all sorts! Your set up is goals, your videos are amazing and I cant wait until after the holidays so I can become a patron. This was so good, and I love the absolute glee when the wash does it's magic- that has been me so many times! I didbl learn a flag trick just recently when making similar tiny flags without a sewing machine (the flags were about a fourth of these) and did the following: 1. Cut out one flag with room for a seam allowance and keeping in mind it will wrap around a pole. 2. Iron the seam allowance flat 3. Trim point seam allowance as it may cause a bum 4. Fabric glue edges down. 5. Tuck base of flag around pole, insert jewlery wire and bind with fabric adhesive. I would then use paint to give the flags a little sun damage or wear, which stiffened the fabric up just a tiny bit.
It's hard to choose a favorite when it comes to your creations, because they're all fantastic. All those years of experience continue to pay off with every video you make. Thank you for the creative fuel! :)
Such an epic build! I do want to say that when it comes to sewing things, an iron will be your best friend and help your finished work look neater. Ironing is a pain but it pays off.
I love every single one. Each build bring new ideas and creativity. Your tips and talent both are inspiration. So i hope you guys keep creating no matter if it a console ,painting , 3d build or share your ideas. Thank you
It's so freacking pretty!! As you said its design is simpler than other consoles and yet it feels so right ~ Great job! I can't choose which one is the best, they're all unique and nicely done ^^
Martina, I don't believe there is an art media you can't conquer! Everything you make, paint, build, or whatever, turns out just amazing! And, WOW, did this project turn out amazing! You're amazing! Plus I love anything Zelda! Thanks so much for sharing! 💖
It's always a very pleasant surprise when I see that you guys have posted a new video. So fun to see what you've come up with. Thanks for all the joy and creativity you have brought to the world. You guys make a difference. ❤️🏰💕
I'd say 99.99% of your projects are pure gold! This is a beautiful concept! Love Hansi's control handles, they are amazing! Love the landscape painting. You make it all look so easy but I know from experience it is not. Have a wonderful Christmas and we'll see you in the New Year! 😘🎄☃🎉🍾
OMG this is my favourite too!! It´s more simple than the others like you said but it's so beautiful!!!!! the lights...the flags...all of this!!! Congrats 🖤🖤
I like all your console customizing Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch. It is so mesmerising as is all of your creations that i have watched on your RUclips channel. Marry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you both.
This one is definitely the best of the three system builds. Beautiful, simple, and clean looking. It's just such a shame you would have been copyrighted if you played the Zelda theme at the end for the final results :( I was really looking forward to hearing it.
I wanted to know how Hansi's dad reacted to it though XD But anyway IT. CAME. OUT. AMAZING. As always. =) I'm always so floored by what and HOW you can create.
Martina, if you use what they call sizing in side the banners it will stiffen the material. They use sizing in collars of button shirts. or simply cut a piece of plastic to insert into the banner to flatten.
for the first time ever, someone finnally shows me what dry brushing is when they go to do it. ive never understood the technique and though i could have looked it up it wasnt something ive ever seen myself doing so i didnt feel a need too, i just wanna say thanks to showing me more about things along side this amazing progect
I LOVED THE VIDEO! MAKE MORE VIDEOS, MORE OFTEN!! Also for sewing the flags, the reason why your machine was not going forward was either because the foot (the bottom part of the machine where the fabric lays on top of when sewing. it's a metal bumpy thing that moves when you press your foot on the pedal) did not have a good grip on the fabric. In that case you have to kind of pull it through or reposition the fabric. Or the tension (how tight the string is when sewing with your machine) on the machine was not tight or loose enough. Read the instructions on your machine to find what will work best with what fabric you are using, what kind of string you are using, how thick or thin your fabric is or how much fabric you have. Also, I think you should make some sewing videos. There is a really good fantasy book series called The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. The clothes that the fairies wear are delicate, embroidered, just beautiful pieces of art with different elements on them to make them look like different elements of nature. Some of them have embroidered animals and plants that make them look like a story book. Some have pearls, dark fabric and mother-of-pearl on them that make them look like they just walked out of the ocean with them on or some look like the sunset bursting with color. Do some research and Make one of these gowns! The book community would love it and I think you would get more viewers. Also I think it's always good to expand your skill in sewing. I personally love to sew! I have made lots of gowns and I actually designed and made my own halloween costume where i was a woodland fairy. I hand sewed a lot of embellishments on and painted on wood grain for a lace up corset bodice. I even made my own jewels to have as water accents to make it look like it was dripping water. It was lots of fun but the process of sewing in my opinion will take longer than the projects you usually do. And do practice projects to get you used to sewing! Love your channel! and thank you for reading this HUGE entire long comment from me.
I'm very impressed that all the little details from the first version were all improved in the new sketchbook! The design on the new spine/binding and the way it seems to lay flat now, really brings the book together
As a mini painter/gamer/crafter I'd like to suggest somethings that might help; reading glasses or a magnifier lamp for painting small things without causing eye strain, iron-on fusing tape for small items to be sewn. Love your videos, just thought I'd offer ideas to maybe make somethings easier
In awe of your painting skills. I knew you did amazing builds out of base materials and what not, but this is really incredible to me seeing you paint a scene for the first time on a flat surface! So good!!
Always great stuff Martina, I'm glad you like the golden brand paints. That's all I use for my paintings. Their airbrush colors are fantastic, I think I'll build a castle , you gave me an idea for a project. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas to you and yours...
So impressed with your painting skills - beautifully detailed, especially on such a small "canvas", and it even looks like you've made it in the same style as the game itself. Stunning! The castle and Link also are fantastic 🙂
i like that you are honest to yourself and say that it looks beautiful, because it is! many creative people that i know allways say to themselfs: oh its not good enough or it looks terrible, maybe because they are not self confident or have the feeling they would act arrogant. i think we should be proud of ourselfs and what we have done! because we should always see our progress. i love your art! ♥️
AMAZING! I was really hoping that you would have found a way to doc the Switch in such a fashion, that you could use the screen as the background verses the painting. However, it must be said, you are an amazing artist! Keep up the good work.
The handpainting on that nintendo dock is just fire 🔥
True
Bob Ross would be proud!
This channel is basically ''Crazy madlass is very very good at everything she does''. Love it

And hold the threads so they don’t get pulled in on the first stitch. 😊

Totally agree with the ironing the project flat. The iron is your best friend before, during and after a project

1. Cut out one flag with room for a seam allowance and keeping in mind it will wrap around a pole.
2. Iron the seam allowance flat
3. Trim point seam allowance as it may cause a bum
OH MY GOD YOU'RE SO TALENTED!!!! Everything you do is just incredibly visually pleasing!
The amount of dedication is just outstanding, I could never do anything like this myself. Very talented
Happy holidays for you too! Every new project you post is enough to chill while watching you make it 🙂
This is something I never thought I needed to see
Such an epic build! I do want to say that when it comes to sewing things, an iron will be your best friend and help your finished work look neater. Ironing is a pain but it pays off.
I don’t understand how you make it go from blue foam to looking like actual stone! It’s just amazing and I love all the projects you do!
I love every single one. Each build bring new ideas and creativity. Your tips and talent both are inspiration. So i hope you guys keep creating no matter if it a console ,painting , 3d build or share your ideas.
Thank you
Just ordered my print. I have loved your work since the frist video I saw keep up the good work. I'm proud to see how your channel has grown. 💜💜💜
I HAD TO RUSH BACK TO THIS VIDEO TO CHECK OUT HER PINKY FINGER
Same
Now I'm getting addicted to medieval stuff because they're so cool 🤩🤩
Stunning!! I wish I had a Switch just to have such an amazing themed console!
I stumbled upon this channel by accident, but it's quickly becoming my favorite channel on youtube! Such incredible art and so inspirational!
Martina. You inspire and shock me with every video. You are truly amazing. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world!!!
The detail put into this is incredible!
Martina you crack me and my girlfriend up so much! Best of luck for 2023 to you and your bf!
your right Martina, this is the best one. keep it simple and it will shine the hardest. it's great watching you paint, you're a pro.

OMG this is my favourite too!! It´s more simple than the others like you said but it's so beautiful!!!!! the lights...the flags...all of this!!! Congrats 🖤🖤
You two make my day brighter every time you post a video. Much love !
Can't choose a favorite. Every project is a great surprise. Amazed by this one. Congrats.
She is like RUclips's manifestation of ADHD
YEY! I love it!! I am a huge Zelda fan and nintendo fan, so to see you spruce up the switch into Hyrule castle is AWESOME!! Keep up the awesome work!
for the first time ever, someone finnally shows me what dry brushing is when they go to do it. ive never understood the technique and though i could have looked it up it wasnt something ive ever seen myself doing so i didnt feel a need too, i just wanna say thanks to showing me more about things along side this amazing progect
Love your channel! and thank you for reading this HUGE entire long comment from me.
the gowns are usually based off of elements in nature.
You are an AMAZING ARTIST!!!! I love watching you create your Masterpieces
I'm very impressed that all the little details from the first version were all improved in the new sketchbook! The design on the new spine/binding and the way it seems to lay flat now, really brings the book together
You are a beautiful painter! I love it! I love the depth it has and the colors truly make it shine!
That little painting is gorgeous! :3 amazing job
I really love this channel. Feels refreshing and light.

DO A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!! Do something fun for christmas or show us some of your traditions for this time of the year!
This is my favorite! Awesome job. Your painting skills are inspiring!
I love your painting painting skills of the castle Martina!
So unbelievably cool! This is the first video of yours I've seen and the detail of your work is incredible.
AMAZING! I was really hoping that you would have found a way to doc the Switch in such a fashion, that you could use the screen as the background verses the painting. However, it must be said, you are an amazing artist! Keep up the good work.
