That is not a "governor" screw. It is called the throttle screw. Two totally different components on the engine. The governor on the motor is located inside the housing. Simply backing off the screw is better, as it does not damage anything, or break any part of the motor.

Perfect bike for cruising through the city . When they are stock they are really quiet . I can’t remember exactly but I think it’s like 40 miles give or take , depending on how hard you ride it .
If you want to make it even faster and cut that 0-30 time down I have a second mod to go with this one. I have a stock one of these that I bent the screw out of the way also, then I took the spring off the cable. If you look even in the video the spring ends up governing the engine a little. I took that spring off and the pick up is cut drastically (to the point it will do a wheelie if you try) I am 180 lbs and I clocked it at 37, bone stock aside from doing those 2 things.

Doing this modification risks floating the valves and destroying the engine. If you install heavier valve springs then you can do this upgrade without much risk.
Engine is still alive many months later with even more mods and swapped onto a micro bike frame . These engines are more durable than a lot of people think .
Who cares when you can just go to harbor freight and pick up a predator 212 for 149.99$ and it literally bolts into the stock engine mounts. I believe the only modifying you have to do is cut/grind off the rear fender mount and if you wanna put the torque converter you literally only need to prop the engine up about an inch and Ibelieve the company that makes the torque conversion kits now includes a few parts to prop it up on. Like you said it could damage it but when a new/better engine only costs 150$ it’s pretty hard not treating this stock engine as a disposable. Unfortunately that a what society has come to anymore (cheap throw away products)

The tires are decent. I haven't had any issues . If you look at the playlist on this bike you will see that we mainly ride on the street though . If we do go off road its usually on trails .
Yes, it has 35 chains. I used 35 chain on this bike. If I get into the higher power stuff I usually use RLV Extreme performance Gold on Black or gold on gold 35 chain. You probably reached a point where engine rpm's were high enough to cause "valve float" . These engines are rated at 3600rpm, with a gov.bypass or delete they spin up to 5500 and that is where the valves start to float causing engine to cut out.
I'd recommend taking that spring off I did on mine and it went wayyy faster it hits 42 just by taking that off bc it's stops it from going all the way the lever
@@jack_-is7rv the spring is on the end of the cable, lossen the screw that holds the cable and slip the spring off nd put the cable back in. Doing this I have noticed makes it much faster but also gets the clutch fully engaged way sooner also.
Hey black66 my coleman cc100x won’t start can you tell me why it won’t start. I look up videos and I couldn’t find anything. I made sure it had gas , the choke is on , kill switch on . I dont know what else. Think you can tell me what wrong with it .
If it’s getting fuel , make sure it’s getting spark . You could pull the plug and ground it against the head and then pull the string to make sure it’s sparking . Just to make sure the kill switch isn’t grounded out and to make sure the plug is good . If it is getting spark the carb could be dirty . Make sure the air filter is clean .
@@diztince-471 The foam filters you can clean by using some dish soap and warm water to get the oil and dirt out of it . Squeeze it out Let her dry . Clean up any dirt in the housing too .
Do you think it is a big risk to remove the governor, I want to do it but my friends and family keep telling me if i remove it the engine is not gonna last me long. But I want it to hit 30
Any engine can break but as long as you keep the oil clean and don't run it wide open all the time it should last a long time. I haven't had any problems so far.

I am thinking of getting this but I don't know if it can handle being used everyday. I go back and forth from home about 6 times (home to school, school to home, home to internship, internship to home, home to my job, job back to home). I ride my bicycle about 6.6 miles everyday so I just need something that can do all the moving for me, my legs are dead from pedaling. I am just wondering if this bike would be able to handle it.

@@bilgerat2635 I'm 5'7, it's comfortable for me. The CT100U is very small also. I think either would work. The difference to me is on the CC100X it feels more like you are riding down a little lower on the frame and the CT100U feels more like your riding on top of the frame. Kind of a different feel.
@@Black66 True. As a kid my friends and I had mini bikes (40 years ago) and we always removed the governor linkage and never had a problem. I think I'll do it again. Torque converter is in the mail and will go on next week! I'm still a kid at heart...
I've never owned an RT 100 but they look like they are similar in size. One has a 105cc engine and the other a 98cc. They both have disc brakes. Any bike like this is easily modified so maybe it boils down to personal preference on the frame design and which engine you like better. Looks like it would be a fun bike.
Ya, it's a nice bike. As long as your not wanting a bike that is really fast. It's a good cruising around bike . And later if you did want it to go fast, you could always put a predator 212 on it.
@@diztince-471 Yes , that would add some performance. I think if you did exhaust and filter mod with the governor screw removed , im pretty sure it would do over 40. . I have a video coming out on Wednesday. I added a performance filter.
Yeah it does make a huge difference. The actual governor is in the engine though but removing that without adding performance parts is just risking valve float. On my coleman I just bent the throttle limiter screw out of the way and drilled some small holes in the airbox but it made a pretty big difference, about 25 mph though not 30 i wish
@@Black66 See the only problem I have With mine This is my neighbor did the breaks because they went out within a week And we noticed the brakes were filled with mud So he said to me next time I do this for you You are going to pay me And I'm like I'm not paying you nothing you're my friend that's what friends are for But obviously hes not a true friend So he said when he was taking the brakes off don't lose this little pin And my bricks went out a couple days later So I took them off and I lost the pin So now I got my bike to go 29 miles per hour So now I'm sitting here writing it with no Breaks So yeah that's the only thing wrong with mine Right now

The "throttle limiter screw" is just that, back it out, then do a bypass on linkage. or take the side plate off and do a governor delete.

more than likely, i haven't tested mine for exact mileage but the original channel said about 40 miles to a tank. could do some googling too

You took the plastic limiter gear out RIGHT? if you don't it'll shatter at high rpm and destroy the engine. They all have them, take it out

Doesn't this float the valves?
Surprisingly it seemed to run good up to 40 mph. I think anything to far beyond that might float the valves.
