@high5565 😂 I just fixed this problem on my cc100x, all you have to do is adjust your jet turn it right or left until it's perfect for your bike and it will work, hope this helps😊

I meant to comment on the 99cc tank !! I love um’ room for a lot more engine!! ❤ I got a little more trash than I like in my carb and after I tore it down , vat , u no the works ! I’m getting old and forget full , only thing I did wrong was the stainless washer was on the wrong side of the o ring Unable to mix right , realized Correct ed but It won’t mix right . Can’t dial it in. I guess i damaged something. Runs about like factory ! But I’ve built a lot of performance engines and a few supercross bikes , this little Chinese carb has given me hell ! Lol to stubborn to spend 32$ on another one because I can’t find what the issue is, and think next time I will ! 😂 maybe the love of a challenge!! I love u videos , you know your stuff ! Much love ! @@Black66 I got another VM22 from Chi-na because I thought I messed up the float height and didn't want to play with it. Everything was different. Needle jet, main jet, and pilot jet. Even the fuel screw threads. I only got one short ride with the Nibbi flat slide, but it feels nice. I ordered 4 different carbs and there's a brand called "maple" and the quality is unreal for like $30. I stuck with the Nibbi because I had been wanting something real nice.

Great video! I've been binge-watching the Road to Horsepower on Red Beard's Garage channel, and there's an episode where he dyno's 4 different carburetors, including this one. The gains are massive, which means the stock carb is woefully undersized & probably designed for maximum fuel economy. I'm very tempted to grab one of these chikuni vm22's & dial it in!

I followed this video on tuning for my carb and it got me a little better. Found out it was running lean. Took out the stock jet and installed a 110jet and not I can not get it to idle off choke at all… I’m at a loss
I had everything aligned, but my problem was I was tunning and running with the choke on😅 so to confirm, the choke on is when the plunger is up? Choke off plunger down?
So basically the nedal is like a metering rod and it goes threw the jet ? And if so basically with the jets and needle positions u have fine adjustments
I pretty much have the same set up as you did in the video but i turned the idle screw the whole way out and it’s still at a crazy high idle and wants to take off
Hey I hope you see this but when you took out the jet from the carb, what did you unscrew it out off, I need to buy that piece because the jet that is in it is really tight in there and is stripped

my 224 w/Mikuni doesnt like the 120 jets and larger...bogs down in top half of throttle and spark plug is black. Runs ok with the 100 jet but getting hesitation on first throttle. Will adjust the needle s you mention here

If you have a cone type air filter, get a foam type filter and see if it runs leaner. Some of the cone type air filters are restrictive and can make it run rich. Black66 has a video where the bike didn't run well with the cone type filter. Most likely because it ran so much richer than the foam type filter.
Great Videos. I have an oem vm22 and can’t figure out if the main jet is in the bolt in the bottom or inside the bolt with the rubber o ring on it thanks for any help

Update, the fuel line leaking was the fault. I adjusted the float and needle valve, install hose clamps and boom back to running. Thank you again for the help

You shouldn't have to adjust it with the choke on. Everything has to be sealed up. Even the gasket on the slide where the cable goes in. Make sure she's getting fuel.🚀🚀
I've never had one of these carbs before. I've always bought the stock appearing bored out ruixxing carbs but now I am getting ready to make the switch and was thinking of getting a 28mm Flat Slide Carb for my modified 224 Mini Bike because everything I've read about these carbs everyone is saying the Flat Slides perform better but they can be a pain to tune compared to the round slides. So my questions are do you have a video out on how to tune the Flat Slides or are they tuned the same way as the round slides just more finicky? Are the flat slides really that difficult to get running right? Remember it'll be my first attempt at a slide carb so........?
Been watching the channel for a while now and I love your videos. I recently got a "mikuni" from Amazon and my 224 will run with the choke on but shuts off when choke is off. I cleaned every jet and adjusted the slider many times but can't seem to get it running right. It has a 125 main jet right now and the only mods are race throttle, governor delete, and this carb and intake any ideas?

I got a 196 with 22lb valve springs and s header pipe will be putting a hot 265 cam in it and vm22 soon would you suggest I just put 120 main jet into it when I get it out of the box?

hello @black66 I just put this exact carb on a stock Predator 212. The main jet is a 130 when i rev it up it does a sputter at mid rpm to WOT. Any ideas? the idle to mid range throttle is clean.
So my carb is bogging everything’s good on it I seen a video of the float value being lined up with the carburetor is that tru is says it’s stops bogging when it’s lined up evenly

So I actually got a kit in the mail that comes with different variations of those jets. I do have a a 115 In there but I even have up to 150! should I just follow you in putting a 115 or do I put in a 120 like you stated or try an even bigger one than that.

Yes, for sure! Jetting has a lot to do with engine mods, elevation, etc. At higher elevations, you generally have to run a smaller jet

Putting the aftermarket one on my ssr 125. Would you change the jet right off the bat?! Elevation is about 3000 where I’m at.
If its a 125cc The stock jetting will probably be close.

My 22mm mikuni on my pred212 idles well and running well through all speeds but the plug shows all black, to Rich, what do I do?

hello @black66 I just put this exact carb on a stock Predator 212. The main jet is a 130
when i rev it up it does a sputter at mid rpm to WOT. Any ideas? the idle to mid range throttle is clean.
Its hard to tune a bike not being in front of it but I would try downsizing the main.
I’ll try that and remove the stock valve springs to go up to 18# that’s one thing I didn’t try

What do you do with the governor? Does it have to be removed?
The carb doesn't use any of the governor linkage. It is a good Idea to remove the governor wheel from inside the crankcase.
When you say add more jet for the popping issue, you mean add a bigger jet in the bowl? Or is that the name of the screw on the side? I'm using 125.
So my carb is bogging everything’s good on it I seen a video of the float value being lined up with the carburetor is that tru is says it’s stops bogging when it’s lined up evenly
Sometimes the bogging could be a needle adjustment. But ya, the float should be set properly.

So I actually got a kit in the mail that comes with different variations of those jets. I do have a a 115 In there but I even have up to 150! should I just follow you in putting a 115 or do I put in a 120 like you stated or try an even bigger one than that.
Most of the time I will start out with a 120 if I have one.
