      Why not? Why wouldn’t that depend on where the college is located and what the college offers? If you want to get an education from a prestigious technical college, you should expect that it will cost you more than just attend the cheapest college you can find. And if you want to decide to attend an extremely expensive liberal arts college, and obtain a degree in a field that is not known own to have high pay scales, you can. And there’s nothing wrong with that. You’re investing in yourself. Just don’t make me pay for that! When I invested in myself to go the college, and earn an engineering degree - I did so knowing I was receiving an education that would enable me to pursue a career in engineering. And I knew that that career would be rewarding to me both intellectually & monetarily. So, I was happy to take that on. And I was happy to have very competent faculty to guide my study. That said, I edify myself by consuming genuine debates between two opposing schools of thought. The Hill for a while was a refreshment from the binary options out on mainstream. That is changing and it's evident in the manner in which these two individuals host these debates. Breanna is entitled to her opinion, but initiating character defamation when Robby is simply stating the counter argument seems to make the show more entertaining than informative.
      In a cheeky way, as an observer, I can now simply characterize her response as simple emotional and not principled. The irony is that it is likely coming from a place of principle in her heart, whether I agree with her or not, but I'm left to assume since she can't win the logic argument, she's reduced to insults.

      MMT: A country doesn’t need to raise taxes in order to spend money because they can print ad infinitum.
      That’s a bankrupt theory because it relies on the US dollar being the reserve currency of the world, which it is.
      In reality the dollar is back by crude oil because crude oil sales only happen in dollars.
      Anyone who buys crude oil around the world needs to exchange their local currency for dollars so that they then have dollars to buy the oil.
      But if the US implements modern monetary theory, eventually the flood of those dollars will cause the US dollar to no longer be the reserve currency of the world and we become Venezuela or Argentina.
      Someone would say we’re already doing mmt because we printed more dollars during the pandemic then in the history of the modern dollar.
      Once OPEC starts taking other currencies instead of the US dollar for the purchase of oil, the United States economy is in a colossal world of trouble

    • @presence5426
      @presence5426 14 дней назад

      @@gs8136 MMT economists don't advocate printing money "ad inifinitum" because it can have negative consequences. The U.S. COULD, sure. But we shouldn't. This idea does NOT completely rely on our reserve currency status. Take a look at Japan.
      It's true that about 80% of world oil deals are conducted in Dollars. But the U.S. dollar also has value because of our economy and influence behind it. Therefore we are very unlikely to "become Agrentina." Which should be obvious. Further, there are sources of energy other than oil. Oil is shrinking as a main source of energy. So, the dollar will not necessarily be in trouble if other currencies increase as a means of directly buying oil.
      One major point of MMT is that federal taxes don't fund federal spending. This is true, and has been for decades.
