Roofing love is a fickle f@?k
Remember Boys Stay Average !!
Do a video about valley weave please, love your videos ❤️
Will do!
Closed valley looks nice ,but metal works better for water run off.
Good job guys REAL PROS nice to see you all tied in :-) you did an amazing job. thanks for showing me how you do your open valleys, witch in my opinion are the best.
If you are doing the best you can but its only average does that mean your the best or just average??? #420thoughts
You’re way too high for me 😂🤷🏻♂️
@@Average_Roofer lol
Pitch Hoppers! Nice work boys 🔥
Thank you !
Say his name! Dillywhacker. You’re goddamn right! Average Time!!!
You made it to 10k subscribers, congrats
Epic roofing video, for an 'average' roofer>>>
Cool bucket head pic.
Why do you guys flip the shingles upside down for the starter. Not to be that guy but you have no glue line on that ice dams can back right in...
Cause they do it right and use starter shingles I suppose
Thats not doing it right lol
I use starter shingle my self but have never flipped them upside down not architectuals
@@polishgangsta99 starter strips, the tar line is up as well...
What starter shingles do you use that have a tar line on the face and backside? None. Ice dams shouldn't be a problem if you've either wrapped the ice shield over the fascia by a few inches, there's metal fascia covering being put on, then gutters. Or you laid eave metal then ice and water over top.
Flipping the shingles over makes it so two tar lines are touching eachother rather than just the one on the underside of shingles
Do you need to have your own companie to subcontract?
No.
Just a sub number.
why are you not using real starters and why are you using the shing upside down
Why are you clipping triangles off the corners of the shingles that are closest to the valley?
I get that you have to do that when doing a cut valley, but the bleeder shingle going up the valley makes it so you don't have to.
Also how did your stagger end up messing up going up? Not plan for backshingling?
Look at the big roofing brain on josh!
@@Vaughan2323 Just wanted to see his input on why he was cutting the triangles off haha, if he has a reason and I agree on it I might just start doing it myself
@@Josh-ww5kz the only reasoning is because it was PG Lou’s job and that’s what he prefers. I honestly prefer closed valleys or at least fully cutting my valleys, which is when I’d normally cut the tops. I only run speed valleys on other peoples jobs. Personally I don’t like the look of them.
So as for reasoning there isn’t really one. 🤷🏻♂️
Closed valleys are nice. That junk aluminum valley is hard to ship, scratches easily, and basically adding a bundle per valley and lacing the valley is a solid seal. As we all know shingles stick to shingles better than metal
Finna flip out if I can’t find the 3rd song I stg
Do you guys ever California cut your valleys?
What do you think of landmarks and iko's
Iko dynasties are great for guys that can’t nail properly because of the wide nailing strip. Certainteeds are a good shingle but has a thinner bond which is not great for inexperienced installers.
As for wind resistance on the tar lines. Certainteed takes the cake all day!
@@Average_Roofer comparing Landmark and Landmark Pro, do you feel that the extra cost of the Pro is justifiable? I know the colors are brighter and they’re a little bit heavier than the regular Landmarks but do you think long term performance is worth the price jump?
@@ltd4yt same shingle basically, it’s like compare GAF timberline HD to GAF natural shadows. Just a thicker laminate.
Who are you?
Dillywhacker
@YourAverageRoofer...ya damn right!!!!
Who you think the 1 an only dillywacker
Tone down the Noise music...
Why no hose reel 165 ft with ultra light hose ?
I use 2 back to back and run right from my trailer quick reel boom 30 second roll and go
New to roofing like your vids, how long did it take you to get good at it? I feel like an idiot half the time
I convinced my work to buy pitch hoppers just cause dilly makes em look so useful
I’ll do a video soon of it on a roof. They are super convenient to have!
@@Average_Roofer sounds good man thanks ! Keep up the grind
Interested job
5:42 lol lmao
Yo I use a pitch hopper as well that's g
Great product!
U ever gonna make a vid on how to do valleys?
This video kinda shows it, but I can definitely do one. Just been super busy getting the season going
Umm he shouldn’t, or at least you shouldn’t follow his guidance. Careful what you wish for
@@Average_Roofer sorry for the trolling I have no excuse sept I drank a roofs worth of beers helping you put this roof on. Soary ricky
@@Vaughan2323 one subscriber, no videos. 😂🤌🏻
@@Average_Roofer 🇺🇸
You don't need such big steps on a steep ass roof like that... But to each his own
Whats that brake piece on your rope called? Excellent vid btw. Looks good 👍
Bummy egg
Putting on the good shingles 👍🏻
Ha lol good one
@@Vaughan2323 I don't know about your area, but in Windsor ON area the Landmarks are better quality than most other brands in my opinion.
Both hands on ladder OSHA would have a field day there
Why not a true starter shingle? Also, whether you have ice and water or synthetic at the wave ends, the drip edge is supposed to be beneath it??
Because the contractor didn’t order actual starters.
As for drip edge, if you put it under the ice and water shield, if ice damning occurs there will be 2 inches of roof decking exposed to the ice and it will rot away.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
👆😎💨
Looks like pre dented valley pans could be the camera and light
Average at best! Ha ha trolling the night away
How do you keep from slipping on plywood
What state you work in?
Ontario
I share your videos with all 20 of our salesmen in nebraska. Very helpful and informative.
When I do tear-offs with rock down starters like your doing there worn down to the wood. Why don’t you use leading edge starters? Rock side up.
I was thinking the same thing, the granular take the weather. upside down don't last
@@timyanke9559 its covered by another shingle. 🤦♂️
@Aaron Neeley Also another thing to grab another thing in the way , already have a bundle with ya so use that. LoL
Yea it's kinda a lazy way but wtf it works. 😎
Roofing and ratm 💯💯💯
Love the vids man
Speed it up rookie
Nice man looks good.
You guys do a great job.
Don’t nail so close to the California
The nails are like 8 inches out of the valley. 5 5/8 shingle exposer plus the 3 inches of valley metal. They ain’t even close. Plus the shingle tar seals to the metal, plus Ice shield under the metal, plus synthetic under everything as the dormer was framed after. Trust me. We good 👌🏼
@@Average_Roofer just trolling sorry. Looks good
