Nofirst Nolast I mean you have people who earn there promotions like the first black female Marine Brigadier General but even then she’s unable to lead men into combat due to not having the experience or the physical capability to do so.. but you can probably enlighten the civilians here that she in no way in hell Commanded a highly trained Tier 1 Unit like Seal team 6 lol she could have been standing there watching the men work but there’s no way in hell a women who’s never seen combat TO COMMAND SEAL TEAM 6 in a highly risky situation she has no prior training in dealing with or never seen the enemy without the protection of being far inside the wire lol but please educate these people and thank you for your service

So what merits did she earn for that position? What ships did she previously command? What other important factors were based on this promotion besides color and gender? I see many ribbons on her chest, but what campaigns or commands did she sustain to earn this one time man's navy? I'm sorry, but I never read about any of her accomplishments. I believe this is all about political sensationalism. I was separated from the navy in 1967. The men had their own boot camp and barracks. Women aboard warships not appropriate. Not even today. The reasons are obvious. The navy Waves in which I respected were in their own environment not mixed with male personal. You can't tell me there isn't a lot of inappropriate incidents aboard warships at sea for 6 months at sea. They just don't bring it to the public attention. It's a pussified navy full of bad choices and putting male sailors in harm's way if a real war broke out. My regrets.
you are a dumb one. there are 271 admirals serving currently in the navy alone. not all of them won a war or something. leadership skills count a lot when it comes to navy promotions. Howard never shot at the pirates but since she was tasked with making hard choices most credit went her way.

It is true that the earlier question about women in combat found an answer in a consistent Old Testament historical pattern that women should not even be in the military. When a man hath taken a new wife, he (the man) shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he (the man) shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. (Deuteronomy 24:5) Only men were counted to go to war (Numbers 1:2-3). Only sons (or men) were chosen for war (1 Samuel @). Only men went to war (Genesis @-15). Daughters served in domestic roles (1 Samuel @). Wives and children did not go to war (Deuteronomy @-20). Women welcomed men back from war; never did they return with them (1 Samuel 18:6-7). Further, the New Testament admonition that the church should consider what the Old Testament taught (2 Timothy @-17) and the writings of the early church fathers both confirm the Old Testament pattern.
