had a 11 pro max. went to the store and the 14PM was sold out. decided to reach for the 13PM. dont regret it at all.

It’s basically the same. But I think 14 Pro Max drains more in standby when Always On display is enabled.

I'm glad you used multiple functions of the phones, gaming, video camera, web browsing etc. However, in my personal experience, the iphone 14 pro max battery life has been about 10% worse than 13 pro max.

Turn your AOD off then.
Yeah this is to be expected if auto brightness is on. There are many features on the 14 that would make the battery life worse in most scenario.

Did you use a tool to calibrate the brightness levels? Because the 14 PM is brighter than the 13 PM so brightness levels can’t be equal if
you told Siri to set them for example.

They both have 1000 nits max indoor brightness
Max brightness are equal on both phones on Manual Brightness.
Only outdoor nits is higher. They both have same physical size which is highly important in case of battery health increments, there isn't any massive changes in the programing to take the power consumption down. So it's just another con .

Interesting, the two are about on par overall when being used in an enclosed environment.
But I’d love to see how the batteries compare when being used outside when the sun is out with auto brightness turned on. From what I understand the iPhone 14 Pro series will turn the brightness all the way to 2000-nits when being used on a sunny day.

14 Pro Max has brighter Display only in Auto Brightness Mode in sunlight. In indoor situations like in this Video, 13 Pro Max is around 900 Nits & 14 Pro Max is also same infact around 880 nits so brightness doesn't make a difference.

I have a 13 pro max, and this just confirmed I’m keeping this phone at least for 3 years.
The fact people aren’t content with the 14 pro max battery when it is head and heels above everything else, and can last over 10 hours is insane. If you’re needing more than 10 hours of screen time per day then there is something seriously wrong with you.

It's sad the initial settings aint the same with the brightness and sound. Probably not the most accurate test around. but good effort
iphone 14 probably had decently higher brightness so the battery seems slightly better than an already great battery
friend, there was an error in your video, at 1:51 minute when you start the video recording test, you can clearly see that the iphone 13 screen is completely dark, while the iphone 14 is slightly lit, this causes that the iphone 14's consumption is higher at this time, as OLED screens consume less when in a completely dark tone.

13 to 14 doesn’t have any significant upgrades. I’m using 11, and I feel 14 is still not the right upgrade for me.
From iPhone X or before, it feels like a good upgrade. The iPhone mostly stay the same for 2-3 years, and for that matter, many android phones also. For regular/ casual users, 3-4 years, an iPhone works just like new.

is that normal for iphone 14 pro max (i bought just 2 weeks ago from ibox and it's new), i pull out from the charger at 11 pm (85%) and i didn't use it until dawn (8 am) and from 8 am to 10 am i just use of total 10-20 minutes for Whatsapp and Instagram. the battery get 77% at 10 am ? I use it to play a mobile legend for 53 minutes it consumed 14%
NOTE: Notification and Bacground refresh only on for Whatsapp and Instagram, others setting is off include AOD, Apple advertising, Apple analysis , etc.

If the two are both 100% new, the time comparison will be more accurate. but 1 was born 12 months ago and 1 just came out, so that's not very accurate.

iphone 13 pro max, I leave the house at 8am and come back at 10pm with 50% of the battery with normal use.
I've tested both and 13 pro max lasts longer. The ios 16 update is rubbish
By barely 30 mins tho, the trade off isn’t worth sacrificing features for so I’m getting the 14 pro

I am from Malaysia. Now my pre-order Iphone 14 pro max 512 delay 2 time. Now about 2 weeks I am waiting because 14 pro and 14 pro max (up 256gb) is sold out and because to very many people order this phones in Malaysia.
i kept my 13 PM and got 3 14 PRO max cos each year i order the colors i wanna try i sent back the two i do not want, and what baffles me the most is how efficient the AOD is on 14 PM , cos the issue i got on the 13 PM and only this one was that Wifi consumed more battery idle than 5G or 4G , it didn't make any sense , still to this day it's a bit better but the 13 PM will loose like 20% idle in 12 hours and the 14 PM with same backup , same notifications coming in , who was at 100% in the morning like the 13 PM will only use less than 10% , i do these tests each days , today i'm comparing both with the AOD off , i'm sure the 14 PM will eat even less battery . i have to admit that it's the best Iphone made since the X for sure ... tons of stuff to love, no more extreme dimming on Genshin impact for example ( despite it being nearly as hot as the 13 PM ) ... it's a beast , i'm still hesitant about keeping the darker one cos you do not see the bezel as much as with the beautiful deep purple which i am in love too ... only downside for me is the huge price increase, the 13 PM 512 cost €1600 the 14 PM 512 cost €1800 ...

@@definitelynotanitalian108 Hi it's been since the 12 PM that I noticed that battery drain when phone is idle is way worse on wifi than on 5G , and it doesn't make sens, it seems there is a bit less drain on the 14 PM but since then I turn off wifi most of the time to get amazing battery life, you should try it really even on the 13 PM

Appreciate the effort, only gripe is battery drain test is not simulated to daily usage. There must be some social network browsing ( insta, tiktok/ twitter, fb etc.) to gauge real life battery life. Usually real life should contains social media usage.
