Plan on upgrading my XS Max this year to the 14 series. Was going to go to the base 14 this year to save $300 compared to the pro. I think this confirms it. Still getting an awesome upgrade compared to what I have. Can’t make it another year but I think I would hate to drop $1,000+ on a pro this series in case next year the 15 or even 16 is finally USB-C
I would say the Pro Max has the best battery life, easily, based on keeping up with the Plus even with the brightness set noticeably higher. He needs to use a meter to set the brightness of all phones to the same level.
The plus has a peak of 1200 nits while the pro max and other models get up to 1500 nits and 2000 they all should have got calibrated on a lux meter so they all same nit brightness
I’ve personally got the 14 Pro in Deep Purple and I can get over 14 hours of use (7:40am to 10:05pm today) with around 25% remaining; granted I’m at work for 8 hours a day but I’m using my phone during my breaks and lunch for music for RUclips videos in the background and never have any issues
Bro these phones were on non stop. You can definitely use these phone straight from the full charge in the morning till before you sleep. Granted noone uses their phone 24/7 then you'd still have maybe even 30%

Why is everyone complaining the 14 pro's battery? In most battery test I've seen including yours it seems to have decent enough better than most Android phones that are larger (in my experience with a oneplus 8 pro).
Good test, but you need to match the brightness of the screens in terms of nits, not percentage. The pro screens are a lot brighter, so 70% of the 14 is not the same as 70% of the 14 pro.

One thing I’m curious about is the power consumption from different TikToks. You’d assume that different videos are more intense with sounds/colors so you might get more accurate results doing a test with the same preloaded playlist on every device
Clearly battery life is now a non issue for the average iPhone user , I have a 13 , go to work with 100% come home 8-10 hours later with around 45-50% left , all my previous phones spent some time on a charger during the day ….
Maybe you should have adjusted the brightness of the screens so that they all look equally bright. I think you can use a light meter for cameras (measures in EV) or some other units like Candela (!?)
Great video but the pro max needs to be given credit for going that distance while having the screen brightness much higher than the plus. The plus was DARK.

Edit: I LOVE IT worth the upgrade 100% the battery is much better and the screen is better the camera settings work better in low light and alot of light. and the phone is lighter. the phone also does not get hot while playing games like COD mobile on max settings.

I have the 14 plus but you have to be honest the pro max is impressive, the 120hz pro motion panel all its pro specs and how capable the a16 is too handle all of that you. Put a 120hz screen on the 14 plus and I think the a15 would be getting little warmer and the 14 pro max would win it not really a fair match, the 14 pro max powering a screen which is draining literally double as much power and it’s other features on top of that and coming second by a few minutes!
I used to have the 14 Plus until it was stolen. I switched to a 13 Mini but now returning it to a 14 because of battery life. I can't go back to the 14 Plus because of the form factor.

The max brightness setting of the pros and non pros are different. 60% of 800 nits on the 14/Plus is not equal to 60% of 1000 nits on the 14 Pro/Max
